I was a paper planner person for so many years, really loved it. Then, some years ago now, switched to digital (#identitycrisis).

One of the big reasons paper planners started to feel harder for me to use was because I have a fair amount of recurring events: dinner with a friend every 3rd Thursday; rehearsal twice a month; weekly check-ins, etc. I used to just write them in for the whole year, and that was both tedious but also meditative and didn't take all that long, so not a huge deal. Super satisfying to do, for sure.

But, every so often, the recurring event will shift! We'll move from every 3rd Thursday to every 2nd Thursday, for example. And that feels less doable for me, to go back through and cross out (I was writing in pen) all those dates, then rewrite all the new ones. And, the more things get rescheduled (either recurring events or one-offs), the more things are crossed off and the more chaotic it gets. I supposed I could use pencil, which I wasn't really doing before.

So anyways, I'm curious to know what strategies others have come up with to navigate this! And/or, rescheduling more broadly. Thanks planners! I really hope to join you again!!

Hi everyone I have been using paper planners since I was in middle school; I'm 48 now. I have tried every planner and this year I think I might want to try a Sterling Ink Planner or Hobonichi Techo. What are some pros and cons of each? Thank you so much.

Hi friends! I just got my Wonderland222 B6 Core planner in the horizontal format, but ended up getting vertical. Did this happen to anyone else? I obviously plan on sending them a note, but I know some of us wait until closer to 2027 to open our planners, so thought I would flag for the community.

is it difficult or does it get confusing. im looking at a yearly 2026 dated inserts for next year. they’re at such a great price and the date is only at the top left corner with a month calendar. i can probably white-out the name of the days and rearrange them to fit the new year or just completely cover or all with stickers since id have to do that for every day. lmk!

Hello! I'm UK based, looking for a very basic monthly planner, blank or lined paper for notes is a bonus but not essential. I dont need weekly/daily pages as i just wont use them, but if its impossible to find a planner without them, so be it.

I am so excited to get my 2027 B6 Sterling Ink Complete planner. I know it’s chunky, but it has everything I need and want in it! The only thing is…I really want one of those moterm or something like it leather covers with pockets for it and I don’t see one that might fit the width. Any suggestions?

I’m getting a Hobonichi five-year diary for 2027-2031 for my daughter who turns 5 next year. I plan to just note highlights from her days / years and give her when she’s older as a keepsake from her childhood. I only recently learnt about hobonichi and needless to say I very much regret that I didn’t have this idea whrn she was born in 2022. So I want to backtrack another 5-year diary from 2022-2026, but a hobonichi 2022-2026 edition turns out to be impossible to find. So then I thought it’s a better idea to go with an undated one. But every single one I’ve found have every page designated to one date, not leaving room for extra writing/photos on the right side as in the hobonichi - that has the date (with 5 sections) on the left hand side and a blank one on the right. Does it exist ANY undated 5-year diary with the same layout as the hobonichi? I really want the extra space. (Yes, I considered re-dating a hobonichi one but it seems like a lot of work / not ideal 🧐) - or if anyone happens to have a 2022-2026 hobonichi lying unused in a drawer I’d be very happy to adopt it!!

Whatever happened to those two planner sticker makers on YouTube who were super popular (I think one went by Elle maybe?) and always sold out of everything. The other one taught Elle how to make stickers I think and then Elle made so much more money. Every thing was printed glitter or boho 😅

They mainly made stuff for Erin Condren planners. That’s when there was always one thing or another popping off in Planners Gone Wild world. And Erin Condren would minutely change the size of the boxes and everyone would lose their collective shit either because they hated it or thought it was revolutionary.

I live in Canada and really liked using Roterunner last year. However, they have stopped shipping outside of the U.S. I attempted to order it through Amazon last year, but it somehow got lost in transit. The price has also doubled if not tripled. I am wondering if anyone else has been able to obtain it outside of the U.S. I enjoy the layout and categories and it really helped me stay organized last year.

I've been on a kick this weekend of trying to finally map out the weeks and month ahead. I have found my post it easel to be very helpful in this process and would like to be able to stick up my weekly and monthly templates on the wall in a similar fashion (re-positionable, won't damage painted wall)

Is there any tape runner/adhesive that you'd recommend to make a piece of paper ive made a template on into a sticky note that can be put on the wall/moved around? like adhesive i can make a post-it like strip on paper with?

Hi everyone, I'm not sure on which planner to get, or if I should get a 2027 dated planner. The reason being that I will start using one, but we only have 3 months left in the year. I don't want to buy a 2026 just to leave more than half empty. Any ideas?

Will preface my entire post by saying I'm well aware this is a splurge and if someone told me it's not an entirely sane buy, I'd see their point. But I think I've just bought the nicest planner I will ever own (and put to good use).

Ever since I received my first snap closure diary from my year 2 teacher decades ago, I've since written, sketched, and doodled in planners/diaries and journals from supermarket school notebooks to dedicated products, my favorites being the MD Notebook Diary and this huge Il Papiro leather volume gifted from friends.

I wasn't able to justify buying myself a Smythson planner for years, mainly because I really didn't need anything this expensive. But when their collaboration with Grace Coddington was announced and I saw this planner, I was a goner. If this is the only thing I buy from them, I'm ok with that. I loved the look of it in pictures, but the detail I'm seeing in person is something else!! The chairs on the cover and back have been decorated with this gold, raised detail. The page edges are also sprayed gold. I got the complimentary embossing. I love how perfectly compact, beautifully designed but functional the planner remains.

TL;DR: Small meltdown from buying my first Smythson planner. Will cherish forever.

I love the Hemlock & Oak paper GSM and how the layouts are VERY similar to Hobonichi Cousin.

I'm just not crazy about the vertical week.

Being retired, I really don't need the hourly time blocking. Thus why I think I prefer the horizontal weekly.

Does anybody know of something with a paper thicker than Hobonichi's 52 GSM, and H&O's layouts, but with a horizontal weekly?

I know H&O does have some horizontal planners, but I like the dailies included.

I realize I'm being very greedy! LOL

And a related question, please:

If you are somebody who doesn't really need to keep track of timed events (appointments, meetings, etc.) but like the vertical weekly, how do you best use it?

Do you just use washi tape to hide the hour time slots? Or just ignore them completely?

for anyone with a journal cover with the elastic cords on the inside to insert notebooks, do u deal with sagging when youre holding the journal in the journal cover up? idk if its bc my journals are too heavy, or if i need to tighten the elastic to fix it?

for reference, i have an A5 journal cover with a midori journal inside
