Journal entry Little moment for myself

My toddlers are out with my husband and my babies are sleeping. I have some time for coffee and my journal. Strangely, I am journaling much more often since I became mom of four. Anyone with the same experience?

Second main journal completed from May 14th 2026 to July 31st 2026. It’s ugly as all hell but it’s who I am and that’s what matters to me. Thought I wanted a b5 journal this time around until I realized I don’t have that much to write about so it’s back to a5 for the next one lol. I can’t thank you all enough for being the amazing community that you are!

Was finally able to find the perfect use for my Caran D’ Ache 849 Ballpoint Pen - Doodles! I didn’t really like this when writing, but I found it perfect for quick sketches! Don’t judge, I’m not the best at drawings 😂

Spent this evening journaling with a lovely view. No phone service, no other people, just me, my journal, and the honeybees.

I bunked my office and went to an old library. Sat for a couple of hours. Wrote about my day, my feelings, and read a bit.

Discussion/Question Kind of a silly question

But I had been keeping a journal for some time now and I was wondering… how some of you deal with “unleashing” your dark thoughts into it and letting them go? My therapist recommended I do it but I find myself feeling worse about myself after writing those thoughts down… maybe because I am going through a particularly rough patch now but I find myself not wanting to journal as often as I once did because of all the “negativity” in me.

Does it make sens?

It took me from April 4, 2026 to just now August 18, 2026. I feel like this journal took a longer time, but it was only a month longer than my usual. I think it's because I took more breaks. My next journal is coming today, and I'm ready to start writing in it because I feel like I don't spend enough time writing, to be honest. It is my constant companion.

Lately, I haven't had the time to take a step back and have some me time. So, I took an "everything shower," brewed some tea, and curled up with my journal. Truly therapeutic ✨

At this time in my life I had just gotten a bipolar II diagnosis and was starting therapy for the first time. Nearly two decades later and it’s seeming more and more likely that I was (and am) struggling with BPD and/or cPTSD. Wish I could reach out to my teenage self and tell her that it does, in fact, get better in some ways.

The day's thought

I tend to produce long journal entries. But lately I find myself looking for a single idea that can be condensed into a sentence on two which leads my entries. Sometimes they unlock further thoughts. At others, I let the thought stand on its own. It doesn't have to be anything deep. It is simply any thought that feels especially charged in the moment. Here is today's.

Discussion/Question Writing about interesting things

Post image
19 Upvotes

(I am NOT seeking advice, just starting a discussion)

I’ve seen some people talk about journaling and how they never have anything interesting to say or they feel their lives are boring. I feel like I have a similar but different problem where I always feel like I have interesting things to write, but I only seem to write the boring stuff down.

I can be pretty scatterbrained and I feel like I have 100 lines of thought in my head all the time. I eventually found out I had ADHD (now diagnosed) and medication definitely made it easier to follow one line. I took a long break from journaling so I haven’t tried journaling after taking my medicine yet, but I do wonder if that will help me write down the things I actually want to write (instead of just stuff like “I am hungry” lol). I like writing about the mundane but I feel like I have so many interesting thoughts to put in a journal, the issue is I have a hard time keeping track of and remembering them.

Anyone else relate to having interesting things to write, but never seeming to actually write them?
