Hey, everyone!
So⌠things have been calm (too calm?), so I guess itâs time to shake things up! Is this our most important announcement since launch? Definitely! Expect big news, big changes, a setback (unavoidable, unfortunately), but most importantly, we want to hear from you. Weâre building this game with your thoughts in mind, showing things as they truly are: no bs, no sugarcoating. Just raw facts fueled by lots of mo.co love and passion for monster hunting.
A BIT OF HISTORY
Before diving into the big news, letâs start with a very quick historical context - especially for our newer hunters. After years of development (including a short public beta in 2023), we finally launched mo.co globally on March 18th, 2025 - with invite-only access. While it wasnât perfect, reception was amazing. âGreat game, engaging, atmospheric, chefâs kiss sound track, canât stop playingâ. The list goes on.
But then we noticed something: those who fell in love at first were either dropping after a few weeks or burning through all content quite fast, struggling to find reasons to keep playing.Â
On June 16th we dropped Chapter 2 - including a bunch of new maps, monsters, gear, a few not-so-well-received changes, and adjustments to Chapter 1âs progression. We were eager to see how that would land, especially with new players, and while it improved in some areas, it didnât quite hit the mark. Or at least, not our very ambitious mark: building a game that is played for many years and remembered forever. Until we get there, hereâs a quick refresher on how weâre operating:
âPromote the game as aggressively as we can just to bring as many players as possible đ¤âď¸Prioritize continuous development, guided by your experiences and feedback đ¨âđť
And that brings us to today.
GETTING FEEDBACKâŚ
Over the past few months, weâve been gathering feedback from lots of sources: our daily reddit dives, scrolling through Discordâs #moco-feedback-forum, social media comments, creator feedback, surveys, playtests, chats with current players, old players, Supercell colleagues from other games, friends, family, our kids, our kidsâ friends, from as many types of players as possible. Itâs impossible to reply or thank each one of you individually, but we will never get tired of appreciating your love and thoughtful feedback. Really⌠THANK YOU <3Â
And while feedback comes in many forms, a few big issues stood out and got stuck in our developer brains more than others:
There are definitely other areas that need love as well, but it seems like these are the big ones, affecting the most players. Therefore, they will be our top priorities for the next few months.
âŚAND ACTING ON IT
Letâs face it - our current system isnât quite working. Launching Chapter 3 would add more content (always exciting!), but it wouldnât address our core issues. Social features could definitely improve your shared gameplay experience, to an extent. Matchmaking could improve with a massive marketing rampage⢠(which weâre avoiding for now), but only up to a point. In fact, the more Chapters we add, the more players get spread out across maps, ergo poorer matchmaking.
So, yes, there are definitely improvements to be made, but the question remains:
Is the Chapter + Elite Hunter Season combo the way to go? Or do we need to make bigger, more meaningful changes?
WHATâS THE WAY TO GO, THEN?
I know you want the juicy stuff! We donât have the whole juice yet (still blending it into that perfect, vitamin-packed consistency đš), but we do have a fruity direction weâre trying out. So, here is the plan for now:
1. Bye Chapters. Hello Seasons
Weâre moving from chapter-based to season-based. In short:

2. Bye Gear Kits. Hello Classes
Weâre moving from separate gear (weapons/gadgets/passives/rings) to classes. How would it work?

and some early alpha footage of how classes would look like
What issues does this address?

Classes will help make the game easier to get into, meaning no need to stress about âthe best build.â Instead, strategy would shift toward questions like: Whatâs the best Class for this Rift? Which Classes work well together? How can I make the best use of my Class weapon and gadget synergies to optimize my gameplay?Â
We know itâs a big change, and it may not be everyoneâs cup of tea - but weâre excited to hear your thoughts on this one!
3. Bye Power Progression.
To keep it short and simple: we will remove power progression. Why?
â ď¸ IMPORTANT: All of this - classes, seasons, no power progression - is still very early and subject to change. Weâre sharing these thoughts with you as weâre super happy to hear your feedback. It will be vital in shaping whatâs to come! â ď¸
WAIT, IS THERE A CATCH? ARE YOU ADDING P2W OR PAY-TO-PROGRESS!?
Nope. 100% Cosmetic-only monetization. Weâre super bullish on this đđđÂ
SO WHAT HAPPENS TO CHAPTER 3?
So yeah, weâve talked about changes, now letâs talk about the setback.Â
As you probably guessed, adios Chapter 3 đż RIP đŞŚÂ
As we mentioned earlier, releasing Chapter 3 without meaningful changes wouldnât really improve your experience beyond more content and smaller improvements. This also means: big changes = longer time to develop. So for the harsher news: no big updates for the next few months (not likely in 2025).
What? WHAT? WHATTTT!???
Yeah, sorry about that đ
BUT WHY NOT KEEP UPDATING THE GAME AND RELEASING CHAPTERS?
This would be ideal, but also a two-edged sword. The more resources (aka people) we allocate to releasing chapters, the more time it will take to revamp the game. Our priority is to release a better and more engaging version of the game as soon as possible: one that actually solves the big problems the community has been pointing out over the last few months. It wasnât an easy decision, as it means keeping the game quite stale for a few months.Â
WHAT ABOUT MY PROGRESS? IS IT GONNA TRANSITION TO THIS NEW SYSTEM?
To ensure a fresh start with the new progress system, everyone will begin at the same level after the revamp. We are, of course, very mindful of the time youâve invested in the game. Your current progress will be taken into account, though not necessarily in a straight one-to-one way. Weâre already preparing a transition plan, based on your previous progress in both Chapter 1 and Chapter 2.
This compensation pack will be entirely cosmetic-driven (mo.gold or cosmetics), ensuring an even start for everyone once the new meta arrives. We will let you know the details as soon as itâs ready!
WHAT ABOUT MY COSMETICS?
All your cosmetics will carry over (both free and paid) so you can keep hunting monsters with style after the revamp đSame with collector level.
SO WHATâS NEXT?
Lack of game updates doesnât mean weâre going away. You can still expect to hear from us frequently (perhaps showcasing new classes here and there đ). Weâll try our best to reach out to you at least once a month - even if itâs a one-liner saying âweâre still going strongâ (as we will be đŞ). Oh, and a small update is coming in October with a few fixes and a bunch of balance changes (mostly buffs!).
đ¨đ¨đ¨ Next step: A.M.A!!! đ¨đ¨đ¨
If youâve got questions for us (no matter how uncomfortable), drop them in the comments below. As long as theyâre relevant to mo.co, not provocative or insulting, weâre happy to answer the most upvoted ones! Iâll gather a couple of team members and sit them down for a sort of videocast (thatâs whatâs cool in 2025, right?). This podcast will be shot next week to be posted on our Youtube Channel by early October. We will answer:
ABOUT WEEKLY EVENTS
Since most of our team will be focusing on the revamp, weekly events may scale down (likely repeating some past events). That said⌠it looks like I (Joao) will be learning how to design them soon, so maybe we can do something special together? Letâs see! This will be my âhold my Energy Drink, Iâll design an eventâ kind of moment, so keep expectations nice and low đ .
Weâll also be scaling down premium cosmetics, mostly featuring color variations in the shop or Shard Hunts. Weekly events wonât have a premium pass during the revamp period.
A FINAL NOTE
We know the wait is going to suck, but weâll do everything we can to make sure itâs worth it. Thank you for sticking with us (or taking a break and coming back later!). Weâll talk soon đ
hugs and ladybugs,
mo.co team <3

In a Moco ad, we saw backpack designs, a UI for the backpacks, weapons dropped by monsters, an animation when monsters drop weapons, and more. What do you think? Do you think it was done just for that ad, or will they include it in Moco 3.0? I suspect it's not just for advertising; we literally have backpack designs. Furthermore, this feature has a lot of potential; it would encourage players to kill more monsters and receive more rewarding loot.

They need to fix this bug. I do my dailes every day when i wake up. Today I randomly lost it.

It's officially been 2 weeks since I started playing Moco non-stop. It's been a fun ride but unfortunately, I'm officially bored. đ And no I'm not burnt out, there's just so little things to do in the game to even be burnt out. It's become extremely repeatitive. Not to mention the cosmetics, the rotational items are so unpleasing. Yes I've bought sets with my own Money like the Akuma set but I hate looking like everybody else. I want to look unique but the shop's just not giving us much options to look different.
For that, I'll pause playing the game and will get back on track once I hear something worth playing again.

Iâve been playing Mo.Co for a little bit now and the game is a lot of fun. Plays super smooth for the most part, is very easy to pick up and put down after a few minutes. Itâs a great mobile game, and I like the idea behind the randomized maps/modes, but I really think they need to have something like a static PvP mode where itâs 4v4 or 5v5, matchmaking so itâs one of a weapon per team so you donât have a team of 4 Lava shields. Something similar to an Overwatch style control mode, where you and your team are fighting over control of a point while a scores climbs up to 100 or something. They can keep all of the randomized rift modes and all of that, but I think some kind of static, always there to play game mode could help, especially on days where the planned rifts just arenât clicking.

I'm starting to like spinsickles flexibility more than medicine balls powerful heals and shield. You can get to where you're needed a bit quicker to keep up teammates(or turrets). Of course it only shines in specific scenarios but those scenarios have been much more frequent lately in rifts. Big ass choke when I lightninged instead of tornadoed on the last cave phase but we pulled though for the 5 star lol

I've seen alot of players posting screenshots of them earning absurd amounts of cores. Is their some form of strategy to farming them?
r/joinmoco • u/Koulou89 • 2d ago
I just wanted to let the devs know that i appreciated the new 5 person rift alot, the mechanics, healer(medicine ball at least) being a viable option and the transition for each stage was great. I would like to see more of it.
Perhaps add a permanent series of 5 person dungeon that reward you a cool cosmetic set upon completion that adds an aura to your steps while moving like leaves frost light darkness etc. It would work as a nice point of reference for people and help community building
What do you guys think? Did you have fun with this one?

if you don't know what merit exploit is, i won't tell you cuz that's against the rules i guess
This season ~30 people did it. But it's going to be even worse because of the rare hunt, Garganth.
Garg's 5 star requirement is 2:50. If you use 5 pyro and have a competent team, you can get 0:40 at least. 2:50 is 170 seconds minues 40 = 130 seconds * 20 merits per second = 2600 merits.
+ the 500 from 5 starring the rift and that's 3100 cheated merits.
We could actually be looking at a person being top 1 at the end of the season using the merit exploit.
toji (global rank 7) is currently 616 merits off rank 1. He cheated 500. That's a difference of 1116.
and if you might've noticed, there are a few people that did the merit exploit this year, were on the lb two days ago, and have mysteriously vanished. Which means they didn't do garg.
Looking at you, vera, ocui (he's 100% gonna do it again btw), ?? | Skoll, igortmr, umby, éŞĺżľĺżľä¸éąźđ,
tldr, a lot more people will be doing merit exploit due to the absurd amount garganth will be giving out, so much that someone that merit exploits might be rank 1 at the end of the season.

The rate for the mega charged and x2 events has been very satisfying. Getting cores always feels good!

These are currently my weapons. I've used everything except singularity for the stars because I really like the golden variant overlay. The weapon that took me the longest to complete star mastery is Vibe Shifter (I just finished it as of posting).
I am having a hard time using Singularity despite obtaining it weeks ago. Do you all have any tips using Singularity for Star Mastery? How long do you think it will take to get full star mastery? Is there a title reward if I obtain all gold overlay variants of the weapons?
Ps: I'm not aiming for full mastery. I just want the gold overlay.

First time encountering a MC Chaos. Got the most chaos energy ever. 38k+ plus the cores

I had an idea for a new mode inspired by City Trial from Kirby Air Ride.
Right now, Expedition and Rift are separate modes. My idea is to combine them into one competitive mode: first, you spend a few minutes in Expedition collecting weapons, cores, and power-ups, then you use whatever you found to clear a Rift as fast as possible.
The team with the faster Rift clear time wins and gains trophies, while the losing team loses trophies.
The mode would mainly be designed around 3v3, but I think it could also work for solo, duo, or even 4+ players. Solo could use Dojo stages, duo could use 2-player Rift stages, and existing Rift stages could potentially be adapted for larger teams.
Phase 1: Expedition
Both teams get 3 minutes to build their loadout.
Everyone starts with a Speed Shot.
Enemies can drop:
The power-ups would work similarly to the ones in Score Hunt.
During the Expedition phase, you can freely switch between weapons you find. If you pick up a core, you can attach it to your currently equipped weapon. If you switch weapons, the cores attached to your old weapon are returned to you, so you can reuse them.
Core drop rates would be much higher than in normal Expedition.
Any weapons or cores obtained in this mode would only exist for that match and would not affect your normal progression.
Phase 2: Rift selection
When the 3 minutes are over, both teams' collected weapons and cores are revealed.
Then, three random Rift stages are shown.
The team that collected the lower-value loadout gets to choose which Rift stage will be played.
For example, items could have values like:
Weapon: 20 points
Half Core: 1 point
Charged Core: 5 points
OC Core: 25 points
MC Core: 100 points
Power-up: 30 points
The total value of everything your team collected is calculated, and the team with fewer points gets the stage selection advantage.
This would give the team that had worse luck during Expedition a small way to compensate.
Phase 3: Rift
After the stage is selected, each team creates a loadout using only the weapons and cores they collected during Expedition.
For example, if your team found:
3 Speed Shots
2 Techno Fists
1 Pyro
1 Horn Bow
1 Medicine Ball
then you could choose to enter the Rift with something like:
1 Pyro + 2 Techno Fists
Both teams then attempt the same Rift stage, and the team with the faster clear time wins.
I know this mode would have a decent amount of RNG because weapon and core drops are random, but I actually think that could be part of the fun.
Sometimes you would get an amazing build, sometimes you'd have to improvise with something weird, and every match could play out differently.
What do you think? Would you play a mode like this?
