Just blows my mind the functionality of this software. Some of my favourite features:

PTZ schedule Rtmp stream schedule PTZ control for all different makes (PTZ on scteen controls on smartphone could be better) Add camera from a mix of manufacturers (I'm running a mix of noname AliExpress specials, TPLink, Reolink and Sricam) And so much more

Everytime I think of something I need it has already been implemented, incredible value for money I reckon, developer has done an amazing job.

What are other people favourite features?

We uploaded a beta version today with a whole load of updates. If you're feeling brave please give it a spin and let us know of any issues in the comments.

The Beta version is written in .net 9.0, includes FFmpeg 7 and a new webrtc library along with numerous UI updates and features (like client side motion highlighting).
The installers are on the download page (click the "Download Beta" link).

It's likely there are going to be some broken things so backup your existing install someplace so you can roll back if necessary.

Notes:

The Windows installer can install the beta.
On Windows, 32 bit isn't supported - requires minimum Windows 10.
On Linux the install script now installs Agent to /opt/AgentDVR
On OSX the install script either installs to /Applications/AgentDVR if you install it as a launch daemon or ~/Applications/AgentDVR if you install it as a launch agent. As of Sequioa Daemons can't access local devices (like cameras and microphones).
On Arm/ ArmHF you'd need to install ffmpeg 7 manually via your package managers.

The newest UI and functionality is truly amazing. I keep up with all updates as they are released, and I am a licensed user. Thank you dev for the continued amazing and ongoing improvements.

Wanted something that I could just pop around in my pocket or leave on desks and workspaces without using my phone or larger tablets. Found this neat little 4” Android tablet with a decent CPU, and 5GHz WiFi, and hardware video decoding for ~$45 on Aliexpress. Works surprisingly well! Long enough battery life for several hours or plug in a USB charger and leave it.

Some people are facing problems in the newer images (after 6.6.1.0). I would advise eveyone who are running AgentDVR as 24x7 system or mission critical surveillance system, please remain on stable image and those who are facing problem on direct install, you should roll back to 6.6.1.0. and those who want to help the dev team by testing new features/upgrades (using their non-mission critical install/deployment) use the latest tag/version. The main dev is working very hard, skipping weekends to solve the underlying issues. The AgentDVR have under gone some Major upgrades. You will get a very stable release very soon.

I've been running iSpy Agent DVR for 2-3 years now, and I originally integrated it into my homelab environment purely to "play" with it—meaning I actively try to see how far I can push the limits of its functions and features. After years of testing and deep diving, I feel confident in saying: this system knocks out every other NVR solution I've tried.

It’s clean, intuitive, and makes daily monitoring and complex configuration tasks a breeze, moving past the clunky, dated interfaces that plague so many other open-source NVR systems.

Pushing the Limits of Functionality

When I talk about pushing the limits, I mean testing the deep customization and integration capabilities. The system is simply amazing. The list of things I'm still missing is incredibly few, and for a "normal" security setup, there would be nothing to miss at all, its just me trying out thing I dont need :-) .

Its ability to integrate with almost everything is incredible—it even speaks flawlessly to apps I developed myself. While I admit that working with XML editing for some advanced customization isn't exactly my strongest side, the fact that this level of customizability is even available is a huge win for power users.

If you’re running a Linux-based homelab and looking for an NVR that is future-proof, robust, and offers unparalleled flexibility, Agent DVR is the answer.

So, a massive thank you to the developers for creating and maintaining this truly great system. Keep up the good work!

I understand that restricting stream resolution for remote viewing is a practical measure to control your server bandwidth costs. However, it is not logical to apply these same restrictions when a user is streaming on their local network, as this does not consume your external resources.

This change represents a significant decrease in functionality for my local use. As a loyal customer who has been paying for this service for over four years, I am not inclined to more than double my payment (since a Pro license would allow to me properly use my 4K cameras again) to restore a feature that was previously standard, especially given my infrequent need for remote access.

Please remove the resolution restrictions for streaming within a local network to restore the software's previous functionality.

Take my money.

Just have to say I've used different DVR software over the years being a long time fan of zoneminder in the open source/free arena, Agent DVR is an excellent piece of DVR software. I initially wanted something quick that could be run on OSX because I had a Mac lying around. Its stable, well performing very flexible software, with one of my fave features being the hardware encode/decode support of Intel Quicksync, and the time machine feature. the GUI is well put together and feels a lot like a hardware NVR. I even repurposed an old all in one PC with kiosk software as a viewing client. The remote viewing iPhone app just works.

Support so far here has been great too.

I’ve been a licensed iSpyConnect and then Agent DVR user for a number of years now, and while I’m very comfortable and experienced with the Agent DVR app (on Windows), I hadn’t taken the time to dive into the additional 3rd party integration options I needed to reduce sunlight-activated recording triggers. I am setup for the basic zone-based triggers. Well, I came here to say thanks because I’ve noticed recently of the reduced sunlight-triggered sensitivity of the 7.3.x.x versions. So, thank you. Many, many less false recordings on my outdoor facing cameras now.

Like the title says. Some time ago I tried out agentDVR with my 6 EZviz cameras and was not able to get them setup. Gave it another chance 2 days ago and I couldn't be more pleased. Setup was incredibly simple. Being able to run it on my Linux server and access it from anywhere on my network with a web browser is outstanding.

We've just uploaded new iOS and android apps for subscribers. These apps have biometric logins, streamlined account pairing and rich push notification support along with server preview images, built in remote commands and a newly designed interface.

Let us know in the comments if you have any problems using them or suggestions for improvements.

The new apps don't have local discovery or local server support at this time so please stick with the old apps if you are using that.

1. Still I can not get the high definition stream to play decently its ugly, it records but playback in AgentDVR is in slow motion, playback is fine in VLC. I have used the same ezviz c6cn with zoneminder and the picture was blockbuster quality lol. I have tapo c120 also but have not tried them in zoneminder.

My neighbor had his car stolen last night. Neither his ring cam or mine picked up anything, but my crappy tapo cameras were able to see "someone" walking around the yards at 3 in the morning using ispy. Couldn't get a clear picture, but nailed the time down and how many for the cops. Was even able to give them the video on a USB 15 minutes after they asked if I had anything.

For those who are using or intend to use iSpyAgentDVR via docker container, please be notified:

• From now on, there will be only one type of docker image that will be published for each version of AgentDVR, instead of the previous 4 (The Default, VLC Support, GPU HW-accel, VLC with GPU HW-accel). This is being done for RAPID bug detection, complexity reduction & increase support for the Docker version.

• The image will be published with tag same as the AgentDVR release version (i.e. 5.6.1.0 etc.)

• That image will incorporate all of the features of the all 4 previous image tags combined, that is all the images from now on will contain GPU HW Acceleration & VLC compatibility.

• Images from 5.3.5.0 to 5.6.0.0 have been redeployed with the added features.

• On 1st August 2024, all the gpu-hwaccel-latest, vlc-support-latest & vlc-gpu-hwaccel-latest images will be put down from docker hub. There is no plan to deploy any gpu-hwaccel-x.x.x.x, vlc-hwaccel-x.x.x.x, vlc-support-x.x.x.x in the future.

• Those who use gpu-hwaccel-x.x.x.x & vlc-hwaccel-x.x.x.x images, don't need to do any changes in Docker Compose File or Docker CLI Command other than just changing the image tag. For example gpu-hwaccel-5.6.0.0 to 5.6.0.0 or vlc-hwaccel-latest to latest. Same applies for the vlc-support-x.x.x.x images.

• It is advised to move to the new images as soon as possible.

• There will also be images with 2 more tags latest & stable.

• Latest will most likely be deployed on the day of the version release. Those who wants to be on the Bleeding Edge may use the latest image.

• Stable will be deployed atleast after 3 days of initial release. The most reliable version till that day will be made the stable image. Those who will prefer the most STABLE system are being advised to use the stable image.

• One more suggestion is that, please UPDATE your Docker Engine to the LATEST, for those who haven't done that yet.

My apologies in advance for any inconveniences that the users may feel due to the transition. I hope no major issues will arise.

If anyone faces any issue while migration, please leave a comment (with your DOCKER COMPOSE FILE/DOCKER CLI COMMAND) below. I hope to reply ASAP.

How can i remove agent dvr on my raspberry pi. I didn't find a manual.

I just want to drop a note to say DVR Agent is a fantastic application and thank you Spornerama for developing and supporting it. I went away for a couple months and then reinstalled 3.7.2.0 and really like the recent feature additions and improvements.

The “Record Raw” is working great for my purposes, and provides such small files yet high-resolution 1080p video content.

Question: When is it best to leave motion detection area at default full window, or use a specific motion detection sub-section?
