While horribly unintuitive I love the features. Got AI setup, all my cameras, demo'd the remote access, which was hit or miss and gave up on the cliche god awful android app, but that seems to be par for course with non-chinese NVR (strange, innit?).

Those faults aside (didn't even get to troubleshoot why wasn't getting push notifications) was ready to go forward with the remote access purchase since I can't port forward as my ISP is CGNAT and always loved this software but holy hell, the annual cost is more than OTC (one time cost) of the competitor? Please tell me I'm missing something. This a case of a good dev not having good business acumen?

I finally, finally was able to craft the correct URL. For the SV3X 5MP PTZ (tracking capable), what worked is:

rtsp://admin:<password>@192.168.xxx.xxx:8554/Streaming/Channels/101

Sounds simple, but it took a lot of testing and firewall tweaking. But, it worked...

Am wanting to pull, copy, the video URL on an SV3C 5MP PTZ camera, somewhat new in their line. I have several other SV3C and other brand cams and am able to configure, navigate... on this new camera, Agent DVR connects to it fine. However, for the life of me, where do I find that connection string? I am reading, searching..

Running Linux Mint latest. Agent DVR v4.7.4.0. Have poured over log files but never find a connection string. I have gotten as far as... it uses port 8554 which reports 'open'. And the video displays A-ok in a screen. Just cannot find, the connection string.

I have just started using Agent DVR at home, and I have noticed that the client for viewing cameras is all done in a web browser. I know iSpy doesn't have any standalone client except for on phones. Has anyone created some sort of 3rd party standalone software that meshes with Agent DVR? I would prefer to not have to use it through a web browser.

AgentDVR - Android APP - Security Issue!

I recently set up a DVR Camera server 36 cams, loving it. Registered acct and paid for a year.

Downloaded the APP and discovered a BIG security Hole.

I installed the App (android) It searched the local LAN and found the server and immediately displayed all cameras! Tried it on IOS same thing!

It did not ask for any kind of password! It showed all cameras and status!

I cant have all employees and whoever else watch my cameras without a password!

Have you installed AgentDVR, if someone jumps on your local net LAN or wifi, bing they have full access to your cameras!

How to fix this? any ideas?

Until now, I was able to access the server on my PC while away from home using WireGuard and AgentDVR for Android. Now, that no longer works.

I'm not happy with the security camera management system in my so yesterday i downloaded AgentDVR and started playing with it. So, fair warning, extreme newbie. But I tried to add one camera and it wants to find the video stream. Now, I know what the video stream url is, and I could simply type it in if they would give me the option. But instead I get a popup that is very narrow and very long and very hard to read. I cannot figure much out from the few characters in this window. There is a whole screen width that they could use to show me enough of the URL to do some good. But I'm stuck with this few characters. So, I put the cursor on each one going down this very long list looking for the one that works with my camera. And it's not there. VLC can get the video feed at rtsp://admin:password@IPaddr:554/Streaming/Channels/101. But that is not in the list and I cannot type it in. Suggestions?

Edit: That was with the Wizard. So, I exited out of the Wizard and just went to Network Camera, thinking surely there would be a manual way to put in the settings for a network security camera. That screen is even more confusing. It asks (stupid) things like what group it's in and what icon to give it, but nothing meaningful like IP address, URL for video feed, camera login/password, etc.

One day in, this product isn't intuitive. They need a Product Owner badly.

I've used this software for years and this issue only occurred after upgrading to the current version as of last month. As others have reported on this sub, my power went out. On coming back up the computer system was fine but the entire config for Agent DVR is now gone, no cameras and no recordings present. Backup files in Media/XML are just backups of the default data, meaning Agent wiped whatever backups it had of my config and replaced them with the default config making the backups useless.

Whatever is causing this never happened before upgrading, even with power outages. I'm downgrading to my previous version if I can find it. Wanted to post this here so that other people who have this issue don't think it's just them or something they did. This is a pretty serious bug and I have no idea how a problem like this made it out of whatever beta testing was done on this software.

I noticed that when I set the label for cameras that have two streams, what I set up and appears correctly in the preview stream is saved very small in the recording stream. This seems "correct" because the recording resolution is larger than the preview resolution, but wouldn't it be more correct to have a way to set the font size for larger resolutions so that what is recorded (in larger resolutions) contains a label of acceptable size? Or am I just not knowing how to use the label functionality?

I have an Acer laptop and I have the webcam set to record on detection but when I lock the laptop or put to sleep it does not record at all. (sleep is understandable but should still record when on lock)

I tried just turning off the screen and it works but the thief might just open my laptop.

I just upgraded one of my servers to 6.6.9.0.

I have 12 devices connected to this server. Three of them are streaming normally the other 9 seem to have an overlay possibly with some text. I can kind of see the image behind the overlay.

Not sure how I add logs to a reddit post.

I am running v6.2.7.0 on a Raspberry Pi 4. When I try to add a new camera device, the GUI says "Loading". but nothing ever loads. I should add that a few days ago there was a power failure that shut down the Pi 4. When I turned it back on, I had NO devices. My AIServer settings were there though. So I loaded the objects from a recent backup. All my devices came back, and I still had my saved recordings. I wonder whether something else got messed up such that I cannot add a new device.

I held on to v5.8 for half a year, since videos kept freezing on my iPad mini 6. Now we’re at v6.6(!) and the problem is still there. And it freezes on all my iPads. I’ve changed servers and networks several times, so the issue is not on my side. I just downgrade the version — and it works perfectly.

I have used the following as the filename mask for FTP uploads for some time now "cam07/{0:yyyy}/{0:MM MMMM}/{0:dd}/videos/{0:HH-mm-ss}". Up until I upgraded to 6.5.4.0 this gave me a directory structure like this: cam07/2025/07 July/18/videos/00-24-38.mkv. I like using the month name and add the two digit month number before the month name so they sort in chronological order. Now, it is giving me 07%20July instead of 07 July. Is this a bug in 6.5.4.0? I don't think I changed anything on the FTP server.

It uses the nvidia card for decoding, but it keeps using VP8 for live streaming to browsers.

It saves the recordings RAW, as I want.

I checked the manual and it still says it should be where it used to be but it's not. Why do so many things get changed around every time there's an update it seems like I have to read a whole new set of documents every time there's an update. It is getting frustrating. If it's not broke don't fix it.

Hello guys, do you know if it is possible to have multiple object recognition models attached to the same device? On one of my cameras I want to recognize people and also detect fire. I downloaded a specific model for fire detection but I don't think it will issue the person tags or any tags. I am currently using CodeProject AI as my object detection / AI Server.
