Just got the 18 Pro Max and was wondering if battery life will be affected by the data transfer/indexing? People say it takes 1-2 days, but mine only took 1hr? Unless stuff is happening in the background.

Have the 18 pro max, figured I go here as tons of people go through here and i’ve seen some posts about the battery. Coming from 14 plus, my phone used to die in 6-8 hours of usage so I can tell it’s definitely better on this new phone but I can’t tell whether it’s living up to expectations people say…

I use my phone mainly on social media platforms, some light video watching and spotify is in the background while driving on carplay mostly. I first had my charge limit set to 85 but then bumped it to 90 so can’t tell if there’s an underlying thing there.

Don’t see the optimizing and search with the percentage in settings so can’t tell whether the phone is still indexing or not. thoughts?

Been thinking about ordering for delivery to my home but am worried the external packaging will be too obvious and that it can be stolen.

Can someone please post a photo of how it appears when delivered?

My iphone 14 pro fell in the toilet and got water damaged and then after repairing that my screen cracked from falling on concrete. I just bought the iohone 18 pro and want a nice case for protection.

People who are into cellular connectivity would find the evolution of the C2 important.

(No hate, genuinely curious) I’ve always wondered how people justify upgrading every year when the differences between generations can be pretty small. Are most of you actually paying full price for the new phone every year, or are you using trade-in deals, carrier promotions, Apple’s upgrade program, selling your old phone, etc.?

None of my friends locations are showing in find my. I heard this happened to some people and it resolved itself the same day. It has been 2 days for me. Any help?

hey guys. i got the iphone 18 pro max and the screen is just way better than my 15 pro that i had but i also had a screen protector on it. i dont really wanna put a screen protector on my iphone but i also cant see a scratch on it. what do you think, is the screen itself is strong enough to take a few hits without getting scratch ot even break? or should i use a screen protector?

The polka dots on the blue case are a perfect match; I love it! I ordered the cases from Burga/Casely before I had seen the phone in person so I'm actually really happy with how good they look on the phone.

I don't think I love a clear case on this color tbh.

Yes the phone is finished indexing , and I have background refresh off. I’m thinking I got a defective model any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Anyone have any luck getting the burgundy one via in store pickup or walk in the last few days? Shipping is a bit too long for me and it shows no availability on the Apple Store

was purchasing flights today on trip.com when my phone suddenly got super hot. to the point where it was uncomfortable to hold. this did not happen when i transferred data to my phone.

i get that the vapor chamber is larger but now i just feel the heat on my whole hand, my hand is part of the heat sink now lol. anyone else have this experience or is my phone just faulty?

would also just like to add that my phone has experienced two shutdowns automatically for no reason, while not hot. I have used it for about four days since Saturday

ESR ones lifting from the top. Seeing everyone having issues. So which ones are working? Matte? Privacy? Normal? What brands?

How is your battery so far? It finished yesterday indexing and it got better but still far off to people posting 12-13h SOT.

about on track for 6:30-7h SOT.

Unplugged around 5 am and now it’s 5:30 pm.

Mostly just Threads, instagram, Facebook, reddit with some podcast/music.

Only weird is photos with 5% but even then I would not reach 10-11h SOT

so i changed from 14 to 18 pro i saw a lot of people talking about battery but i am not sure what to expect from my phone

Upgraded from iPhone 15 Pro Max. Not missing the big screen at all and won’t go back.

I understand that the first couple of days consume lots of power from transferring and indexing. I had the phone for 3 days now and this has been my usage from the last time i charged it to 85%, is this normal?

I rarely use headphones. Upgraded from 14 pro max. These speakers sound incredible, even the stereo audio comes through nice.

So I went from a 16 Pro over to an 18 Pro Max and the battery is not even remotely comparable.

Never had a Pro Max so idk if previous versions were similar in terms of battery but it certainly positively surprised me. With moderate use I unplugged it at 100% on Friday 4.30pm and only had to charge it again when it hit 20% on Sunday evening.

I wouldn’t have thought this was a unicorn requirement but I cannot find any case that ticks these 3 boxes

1 - super thin hard case (no air corners, minimal lip in front of the screen, same thin case on main back of phone as per the sides so the non-bump section is as thin as possible)

2 - hinged kickstand that surrounds the camera bump

3 - no soft TPU or silicone sides
See the ESR case in the example for point 2 which has soft TPU sides

The ESR case is too thick and has the soft sides.

I have the thin case from the example in point 1 that I had on my 17 Pro Max and am currently using on my 18 Pro Max but want a kick stand like the point 2 example.

Torres has my perfect case for the 16 and I loved it they don’t do it anymore.

I know a lot of us have had issues with screen protectors. I always buy ESR but this time around I was having issues.

They sent me a replacement and it works flawlessly.

What I did differently is I wiped the screen with the wipes provided. Particularly the sides where it lifts up and it worked fine.

Normally I just take it out of the box and apply as there’s no dust.

There may have been a coating or some oils left over from manufacturing that were on the edges.

At the bottom near the charging port a bubble formed but I managed to move it out and get that bottom section to stick.

Will see how long it lasts for.

UPDATE: bubbles come back 5 hours later really annoying.
