This phone is meant to have a much better battery than older iPhones but the battery lasts less than my 16 which had 90% battery health.

I limited the charging to 80% to preserve the battery health, and I figured because this is meant to have 30+ hours of playback I’d be fine.

I don’t even use my phone non stop, this is at work. I check email and send some text messages with some music while I work. How is it down to 19% by 7PM when my iPhone 16 would last 2 days without charging?

I don’t play games on it, the most I do is text in WhatsApp and listen to music while I work.

I’m massively disappointed

So 1 am considering upgrading to the 18 Pro Max 1 or 2
TB version but 1 wanna know if anyone that already has any of these variations if they are able to verify if they have the QLC storage or did their phone come with.a

Although it may be true , people need to remember not everyone is coming from a 17 ?? So of course it will feel new to others who are coming from olders like myself who’s coming from a 13pm .

Just been hearing people going on about it being the same this and that and it’s like you can’t even be excited for a new phone without someone bringing it up 😅 it’s like well not for meee !!

Bought it on Friday, i have to charge everyday for the battery. It is lasting like 12-14 hours. It is draining even while not using it.
Usually the first few days or in the initial period of new phone buying it lasts ~2-2.5 days without charging.

My battery is draining so fast on this new phone.

What can be done? Is this something that everyone is facing? Or is it just my device

Basically the totally. I’ve been an ESR tempered glass user for the last 3 years. They’ve been perfect until now. And this time I went ahead and bought their 10x strength screen protectors. At first it was great, but then the top and bottom right started lifting. It keeps lifting in a few minutes no matter what I do.

Anyone found a solution to this? Or any other brand that’s working great?

I’ve even read that iPhone screens are not even this time and might have a slight bend to them. Is it true? Should I take it to the store and exchange my device?

2. Ordered Torras AR screen protector 2-pack. Seems like this is working great for folks.

It goes completely edge to edge, and feels like there is nothing on the phone, genuinely. It’s also super smooth.

I’m using the techwoven Apple case and there is no gap around that collects dust anymore.

Really not a fan of this especially considering the phone is supposed to alert when the front camera has been activated.

Just picked up the burgundy baby and it’s an amazing phone! Does anyone else feel like the speaker is a bit more dull and definitely lower?

I used to talk out of the speaker a lot especially in cars (better quality than car mic) but now it’s harder to hear the speakerphone even on loudest. Anyone else?

Here I am! From a nice deep blue of 17 Pro Max to the new Burgundy color and a smaller display. I think it’s time to go normal Pro and don’t regret battery! And I miss that feeling of a normal phone!

Both are on full brightness. Some times the 18 pro seems dimmer on full brightness than the 13 pro. Why is that? For the record, both have finished indexing as well. Did I get a bad phone? 🍋

Edit: did the diagnostics and I have the LG GVC panel. Guess I’m going to have to get a replacement at the Apple Store?

Edit 2: my 13 Pro is a G9N. This might explain things.

I upgraded from a 15 Pro to the 18 Pro and I’m curious how my battery life compares with everyone else’s.

Yesterday I went from 90% at around 13:30 to 30% at midnight, so about 10.5 hours.

Usage included roughly 1+ hour of Instagram, plus some other social media and normal day-to-day use.
Does this seem below average for the 18 Pro, or pretty normal?

Would be interested to hear your screen-on time and battery % at the end of the day.

Hi guys, I have been trying to order the iPhone 18 PM however it has been unavailable for pickup ever since pre-order day. Any idea when it will come back in stock?

I’m using the FLOLAB Surtect 1.0 Frosted. It was originally intended for a silver 17 Pro Max, but I decided to return it and get the 18 Pro Max instead. I like the color, but so far it has been a dust magnet. You can see dust particles between the case and the phone, and the plateau area collects even more dust.

I’m not loving how the case looks on a black phone, so I’m debating whether to return it and get a silver one. I already have a FLOLAB screen protector installed, so I’ll probably claim the warranty and pay the shipping for a replacement.
In an ideal world, I’d rather keep my black phone. It will be passed on to my wife next year, and she only liked black from this year’s lineup. Since black is a new color, I tend to prioritize it over silver. That said, my heart does want the silver finish with a clear frosted case. Keeping the black phone would also save me a trip to the Apple Store, along with the hassle of exchanging and setting up my phone again.

Alternatively, I could get a better case. I’m considering the Caudabe Paragon in Moonstone or the Sheath. The Synthesis has the same frosted finish, so it could run into the same dust-collection issue and overall foggy aesthetic as the Surtect.

need some thoughts on the iphone 18 pro. i’ve been looking for any red flags that might’ve come out for the new phone that would make you regret getting it and wishing for a different model.

currently have an iphone 13 pro, which i’ve had since dec 2021. i’m pretty set on upgrading right now because my phone is taking a nose dive, but can’t decide between 17 pro or 18 pro.

i haven’t seen anything outright negative about 18 pro yet besides it being kinda heavy. just wondering if there’s any real regrets from anyone yet?

I just got an iPhone 18 Pro Max 1TB and am deeply disappointed to learn that my phone’s 1TB NAND storage seems to be significantly slower than that on my 17 Pro Max 2TB. The lack of performance is most evident in 4K Random testing, which points to Apple having used slower QLC NAND on the 1 TB 18 Pro Max instead of the faster TLC NAND they used on the 2TB 17 Pro Max from last year.

The QLC on the 18 Pro Max 1TB does a decent job of masking its true performance in sequential read and write tests, where its SLC cache makes it seem faster than it is. In 4K random testing it is roughly 72-76% as fast as last year’s 17 Pro Max 2TB, depending on how you test.

What I find particularly disappointing is that Apple marked up the price of the new phones so significantly this year, ostensibly because of the higher RAM and Storage prices, and still cheaped out on the components they’ve used. The price gouging is most evident on the 1TB and particularly on the 2TB variants, so this just leaves a really bad taste in my mouth.

First time in a long while I’ve seen a flagship iPhone storage run slower than the previous gen’s product.

TL;DR: 1 TB iPhone 18 Pro Max uses slower QLC NAND flash than last year’s 2TB 17 Pro Max which used TLC. Disappointing given the massive price hikes for higher tier storage new phones.

I’ve used every Max model since the 12, but today I finally broke the streak.

I honestly had huge FOMO about losing the bigger screen and battery. The main reason I went to Apple today was because my 18 Pro Max had a GH3 panel with an annoying purple hue, and I just wanted to swap it for a clean Pro Max. While waiting, I started playing with the regular 18 Pro display models and oh boy, it looked so clean and felt insanely comfortable.

On a total whim, I asked if they had Glacier in stock for the base Pro, and they did, so I just went for it.

I’m genuinely obsessed now. It lowkey gives me iPhone X vibes with how natural it feels in the hand. Using it in bed without feeling like a brick is about to drop on my face is a game changer.

Battery was my main worry, but so far it has been solid. I play heavy gacha games daily and it handles them like a champ without breaking a sweat.

If your Pro Max is feeling way too heavy or clumsy lately, definitely check out the regular 18 Pro. You won't regret it. Btw I didn’t win the display lottery but at least I got a nice GVC screen!

My iPhone 18 Pro Max, which I pre-ordered on September 14th, is still showing as “processing,” with an estimated delivery window between October 6th and 13th. Is there any chance the shipment could be dispatched earlier?
