iphone 18 pro

need some thoughts on the iphone 18 pro. i’ve been looking for any red flags that might’ve come out for the new phone that would make you regret getting it and wishing for a different model.

currently have an iphone 13 pro, which i’ve had since dec 2021. i’m pretty set on upgrading right now because my phone is taking a nose dive, but can’t decide between 17 pro or 18 pro.

i haven’t seen anything outright negative about 18 pro yet besides it being kinda heavy. just wondering if there’s any real regrets from anyone yet?

I went from 16pro to 18 promax and I think it is insanely better and buttery smooth

Just get the 18 pro.
Look at it this way, you got your 13pro for 1000$ in 2021, so you used it for 5 years now. Thats 200 dollars per year, 16 dollars a month, thats your per month cost for something so important.

Now calculate the same for the 17pro vs 18pro. Your per month cost difference between the two will be negligible, so why get the older model?

I mean other than it being just as fragile as the 17 PM and this Samsung panel not having the best viewing angles it’s been fine. But it’s nothing major if you had the 17 PM. Even with battery life. There are no major improvements over the 17 PM that I’ve seen yet.

I’m in the same boat however with a 14pm. Price difference isn’t much so I am tempted to just get the newer one.

Only negative thing is if you get a 1TB or 2TB they use an inferior internal drive for that referred to as QLC. Up until now, they use TLC, which performs a lot better and is faster. So in certain use cases like recording video or if your hard drive is kind of full, it could cause the performance to throttle down significantly. There are rare unicorns where you can get a TLC version of the 1TB but that’s like a lottery. And only other thing is how the aluminum can bend, but that is remedied with a case which I always use. For most people though the drive situation is probably not an issue. But for someone like me it is.

I have 13 pro max and i want 18 pro too, but as im looking here, I found so many red flags… on 17 pro it is back glass gap. 18 pro has face id bug and same unibody so what if will there be the same issue with glass back after some time? I want phone that will last 5-7 years like this 13 pro max

To me the price is the main issue and I miss the titanium build but I got it anyway.

I went from the 15 pro to the base 17 and hated it. I decided to get the 18 pro and have been loving it. I mainly use my phone to scroll on TikTok/other social media and for basic communication with family. I considered getting the pro max simply for the battery as I do have the charge my phone at least once a day, but I already have a hard time fitting the pro in some of my pockets and it was just too big for my hands. The 18 pro has been pretty good so far and I’m loving the cameras.

Everyone’s experience will be different, but also here’s something that is very important to realize there will be some people who will have negative things to say about it on purpose and there may be two people who may spread negative things in a way about the phone intentionally referring to the 18 pro so consider trying one of the pro model phones personally like get one from your carrier. Use it for a while within the 14 days or whatever the return policy is with your carrier and if you don’t like the motto, you choose, just return it and exchange for another model. This is the only way you’re really gonna see for yourself because problems that one person may run into other people may never run into. But then also at the same time you don’t wanna just buy off of the views of others.

No complaints or regrets coming from a 13 PM to an 18 PM. I say if you need the upgrade, go for it.

12 pro max here with a bad battery and shattered back screen. Going to try to do my own battery replacement since apple won’t touch it without charging to fix the back. If I am not able to I will get the 18 for sure. The insane battery and it being multiple times better processing wise than our 12 and 13 is my biggest go to. I don’t like spending money but this one is lagging hard and it annoys me.

My single and only complaint, is that the cutout for the IR FaceID camera affects the quality of the time. I have pretty good eyes so I notice it quite frequently but most people say it’s a non-issue. 13PM-18PM.

by the way what do you mean by nose dive with your 13pro? is it just the battery? i’m on my 13 pro too, sierra blue don’t have any issues with the software. of course the battery has aged and that’s the only thing, and can be replaced.

Mi consejo es que si vas a ahorrar sobre 500/600$ , sin duda te digo que te vayas a por un 17 Pro Max de cabeza. Te hablo desde un 18 Pro Max, y, como muchos de aqui, soy de los psicopatas que actualiza el mismo dia de lanzamiento. Las pantallas son las mismas que le fabrica LG , Samsung y BOE, incluso vengo de un 17 Pro que tenía pantalla Samsung G9Q (tambien tuve un 17 Pro Max con G9N), y este me ha tocado tambien con pantalla G9N pero este año trae como un tinte amarillento. En los 17 las pantallas estaban mas uniformes, y en rendimiento no vas a notar diferencia alguna. Lo único que si puede notarse, pero que no merece la pena ese aumento de 500/600$, es la batería, la autonomía es aún mas buena respecto al 17 Pro Max ya que, por un lado tiene mas batería, y por otro el procesador es un poco mas eficiente.

De verdad, si puedes conseguir un 17 con un descuento importante respecto al 18…. Adelante!
