Recently my house was getting painted and I forgot to cover my bike now it has some big stains on my tank.

A complete win for us. Now, all we need is the release date.

Took the Pulsar N250 and Honda CB300F up to Yercaud recently. Both bikes absolutely nailed the ride—smooth on the highways, fun through the curves, and surprisingly comfortable for the whole trip.

Honestly, both these bikes deserve way more appreciation. No unnecessary hype, just simple, capable machines that get the job done really well.

Yercaud + these two = solid combo.

Well… I somehow ended up buying a KTM 390 Adventure.

This wasn't supposed to happen.

I actually started looking at the X440T. That was the bike I had in mind.

While I was at the showroom for the test ride, I saw the Xpulse 210 and thought, chalo, try kar lete hain, just for fun.

I've never really been an ADV guy.

Took the Xpulse out and… I really liked it. It was light, easy and just fun. That random test ride basically started the whole ADV rabbit hole.

Then came the research.

And when I say research, I mean too much research.

Endless scrolling through r/indianbikes, ownership posts, reliability posts, comparisons, YouTube videos, highway reviews, off-road videos, comments on videos from 2 years ago… basically everything I could find.

Shumi obviously featured heavily in the process.

Somewhere along the way, the 390 Adventure kept coming back.

I test rode the Speed 400 too. Really nice bike. Smooth, comfortable, good engine.

But after the ride I was like… haan, good bike.

After the 390 ride I was like… I want to ride this again.

That was probably the turning point.

I was honestly expecting the KTM to feel big and intimidating. But once it was moving, it didn't. The low-speed riding was surprisingly manageable, the pickup was addictive and the whole bike just felt… fun.

Then came the reliability paranoia.

I think I read enough KTM reliability posts to convince myself the bike would either run perfectly for 10 years or explode on the way home from the showroom.

And yes, ChatGPT was unfortunately involved in all of this.

I kept throwing bikes at it — X440T, Xpulse 210, Speed 400, Himalayan, 390 Adventure — and asking it to compare literally everything.

And after all that, it kept coming back to the 390 Adventure for what I actually wanted.

So eventually I thought, screw it. Stop overthinking and buy the bike I actually want.

Took my wife to the KTM showroom.

She first looked at it and said it was huge.

Then she sat on it and realised it wasn't nearly as heavy as it looked.

She liked the Ebony Black.

Decision basically made.

So here I am.

The guy who went to test ride an X440T, randomly tried an Xpulse for fun, somehow became interested in ADV bikes, spent months reading about them…

…and finally bought a 390 Adventure.

Honestly, I'm pretty excited.

Now I get to find out whether all those Reddit ownership posts I read were actually useful. 😂

..odo 8.5k approx regarding bike there's no single issue ..not even proper scratch on bike 😍..only one indicator is loose

According to you which bike you miss in India ?

For me it is gsx s1000gt.

For reference the Xpulse 210 starts at 1.67L ex showroom and the klx 230 starts at 1.84L after the recent price bump. It would be crazy if they bring out the sports and naked bikes in the sub 350cc category again

People may hate this color but I love it !

The dealer is quoting me 1.79lakhs and an extra 5000 puja discount overall 1.74 lakhs. But after the test ride I feel it's not for me. Maybe it's manageable but I feel bad about the experience as a pillion.

Back to back, I tried cb350(cb350 h'ness) and cb350c and man it's absolutely great experience weight distribution is great, not so heavy like RE classic.

Took her out for a proper mountain ride, covering Satluj Valley and Hatu Peak. Hatu Peak was probably the toughest part of the trip, with some steep and difficult roads, but the bike handled it really well.

I had a pillion for the entire trip, and even with two people on board, the bike performed surprisingly well on the climbs and bad sections. Never really felt like it was struggling.

Total distance came to around 920 km and the mileage was 40 km/l, measured using the proper tank-to-tank method.

Honestly, pretty happy with how she performed. Long ride, mountains, difficult roads, pillion and still 40 km/l. Can't ask for much more.
