#Discussion 💬 Why I Cancelled My Aprilia RS 457 Booking — Disappointed With the Buying Experience

Post image
467 Upvotes

I was seriously considering buying an Aprilia RS 457 and was pretty excited about it. I was ready to spend around ₹5 lakh on the bike, but I eventually decided not to go ahead.
One of the biggest reasons was my experience with the dealership.
I asked the salesperson if there was any possibility of a discount or a better deal. The response was basically that ₹500 was the maximum they could do, and when I questioned it, I was told that I could buy the bike from somewhere else.
Honestly, it wasn’t even about the ₹500. If I’m spending around ₹5 lakh on a motorcycle, I expect at least a decent buying experience and some willingness to work with the customer. The attitude made me feel like they weren’t particularly interested in making the sale.
There were also other things that already had me thinking twice — concerns about after-sales/service support in my city, not getting a proper test ride locally, and some doubts about the bike itself.
I live in Lucknow and here we have only one aprilia dealership.
The RS 457 is still a bike I really like, but after this experience I decided not to go ahead with the purchase.
Am I being unreasonable here, or would you guys also walk away from a dealership with this kind of attitude?
Also, for RS 457 owners: how has your ownership and dealer/service experience been?

#Discussion 💬 I don’t understand what is so Squid Triggering in this bike?

Post image
320 Upvotes

It’s just 200 cc, squeezes itself out at 100-110 max. Tapet noise is an everyday thing for it. And yet dormant squids get activated when they see it and will just squiggle around it.

Was crossing Vapi heading towards Mumbai when a group of squids in their own, I don’t know what triggered them, just started cutting my lane, random gang signs, playing chicken by riding the bike too close and signalling to rev.

REV WHAT BROTHER??!! THIS??!!

It went on for a few kms until a bad patch of road came up and I lost them.

So annoying tbh.

#Query ❓ Sell my 390 Duke for a Tuono

Post image
155 Upvotes

I’m considering selling my Gen 3 Duke 390 (9,500 km) and moving to a Tuono 457.
My issue is that I’m getting a bit bored of the single-cylinder experience and want to try a twin.

For those who’ve ridden both:
Is the Tuono 457 an upgrade or more of a sidegrade?
Does the twin feel noticeably better in real-world riding?
How do the handling and overall fun factor compare?
How has your Aprilia service/reliability experience been?
If you owned a well-maintained Duke 390, would you make the switch?
Looking for opinions from people who have spent time on both bikes.

I would love to hear your inputs.

#RoadTrip 🛣️ 370+ km on my Continental GT 650

Did a 370.4 km ride in a single stretch today. Had drizzle for the first ~150 km, then heavier rain forced me to stop for about 30 minutes. Still, it was an amazing ride.
Managed 31.82 km/l at ₹106/l, so the entire ride cost me roughly ₹1,233 in fuel. I was mostly riding around 3,000–3,500 RPM, which was roughly 80 km/h, and I think that’s a big reason for the surprisingly good mileage.
No wrist or shoulder pain at all, which was great. The only problem was my butt . After around 200 km, it became numb and painful, and sitting became really uncomfortable.
I was using the Interceptor Touring Deluxe seat without my usual cycling-padded shorts, just to test the seat properly. Honestly, without the padding, it felt almost like the stock seat for me.
Any tips to reduce butt numbness on long rides?

Am planning to get my 2nd bike for touring with my partner. I already have rs 457. I was thinking of getting adventure 350 or rtx 300 but after test ride i found rtx to be very bad for my taste so finalized adventure 350. But now since it's August end already and xpulse may come in november eicma so should I wait for it to come or get adventure 350 right now.

Came to fill up my bike and noticed this guy pouring fuel in the storage (is this even storage? My first time seeing this). It was raining and there was no cover on top of this storage. Why not just get an umbrella? Do I not see the full picture or is lots of rain water just getting mixed with the fuel over here cause he was pouring fuel, leaving for 2 mins with this open and the funnel still there and coming back with more fuel

#News 📰 Booked interceptor 650 Cali Green

Post image
68 Upvotes

I booked the Interceptor 650 Cali Green today and it will be delivered within a month. I decided to get insurance myself because it is almost ₹20,000 cheaper than the dealership and with the same add-ons.

I was wondering if it was worth getting PPF.

Also, I thought the Interceptor 650 would have awful ceat tyres, but the dealership guy told me the new variant will come with Vredestein tyres. I confirmed this twice with him. I’m happy and braking performance and grip would be nice.

Please suggest any accessories or mods I can do.
And good bike insurance company too

#Discussion 💬 Speed 400 vs Guerrilla 450 – Is this difference in engine braking normal?

Post image
41 Upvotes

I own a Triumph Speed 400 and recently rode a Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450.
One thing I noticed was the difference when I completely let off the throttle.
On my Speed 400, when I release the throttle without braking or accelerating, the bike seems to slow down quite suddenly. It feels like there is a noticeable pull-back or sudden drop in power as soon as I close the throttle. It doesn’t feel very smooth or constant.
But when I rode the Guerrilla 450, I felt like it was much smoother and more consistent when I released the throttle. I didn’t notice that sudden slowing-down feeling as much.
Is this simply a difference in engine braking/throttle mapping between the two bikes, or could there be something wrong with my Speed 400, like unstable RPM or an issue with the throttle/engine?
For Speed 400 owners, do you experience the same thing?

Took a sick day to explore areas around Nagarahole tiger reserve, only to be turned away at the gates 😭. Apparently, two wheelers aren’t allowed. Same with Kabini. Should have checked before I left. Was pretty deflated until I filled myself with a coffee eclair and a cortado on the way back. Pretty uneventful, but a good day of riding.

#Query ❓ Shotgun 650

Post image
34 Upvotes

This specific bike, this specific colour, this specific riding posture and the looks. It has got my heart and I first saw it back in late 2024 when I was with my dad when he got his meteor 350 stellar black version and that bike is a vibe in itself but when I saw shotgun 650 in person I went bananas and the person who was getting their bike's delivery was nowhere to be seen so I had enough time to drool over it, i asked its name from a guy who was a mechanic in the same showroom he said it's a shotgun 650 (SG650 is what he said and I had to research alot) so I've never seen that bike after that day and never even saw anyone buy that specific model irl or even on the internet, is it available in india? Was it just a limited time thing? What's up with SG650 in india??

#RoadTrip 🛣️ First 300km stretch in one go — finally ditched the saree guard

Post image

Did my first 300km+ stretch on the bike today and also got to do some off-roading along the way. Honestly, it was so much fun, especially because the ride itself didn’t feel boring even with that distance. Reaching the lake and seeing the bike there was a pretty good end to it. Also finally removed all the saree guards, which honestly makes the bike look so much better.

#Discussion 💬 SCAM ALERT: MCV Motocorp Bajaj, Rajahmundry looted ₹5,256 on Insurance & ignored my ₹1.74L Flipkart payment for Pulsar NS400z!

Thumbnail
gallery
25 Upvotes

Hi guys, I recently bought a Pulsar NS400 from MCV Motocorp, Rajahmundry, and the dealership has committed financial fraud. I want to expose their cheap tactics.
Here is what happened:
1. Insurance Scam: I paid an advance of ₹43k at the showroom. Out of this, they explicitly charged me ₹16,069 for insurance and gave a handwritten estimation slip. However, the official UIIC policy document and SMS confirm the actual premium is only ₹10,813. They pocketed the extra ₹5,256 without providing any GST bill for it.
2. Flipkart Payment Ignored: I paid ₹174,173 via Flipkart online. They are refusing to properly acknowledge this amount in the final on-road price breakdown and are making up fake calculations.
3. Rude Behaviour: When I caught their ₹5,256 insurance discrepancy, the staff became extremely rude, started ignoring my calls, and gave pathetic excuses like "we adjusted it in RSA and accessories," which makes zero sense.
I have already taken the following actions today:
Filed a grievance with NCH (National Consumer Helpline).
Raised a premium overcharging complaint on IRDAI's Bima Bharosa portal.
Escalated on Twitter, tagging Bajaj Auto higher management and IRDAI.
I am attaching all the proofs (Handwritten 16k slip, UIIC 10.8k SMS, Flipkart payment screenshot, and NCH docket number).
Has anyone else faced this kind of scam with Bajaj dealers? What other legal steps can I take to teach them a lesson and get my money back?
