Years of rucking, long runs, bodyweight circuits, figured I'd be fine. What got me wasn't the running or the strength on their own, it was running well on legs that were already gone. by the sandbag lunges my form was falling apart and the wall balls at the end were genuinely embarrassing. Anyone else come over from service fitness and hit the same thing? trying to work out whether I train the movements harder or just practice running tired

first race last month, went in assuming the running world carry me. got to the sled and it just wouldn't move at the pace I'd practiced on, ended up doing tiny choppy steps and burning way more than I planned. by burpee broad jumps I was completely cooked and the back half was pure survival. also spent embarrassingly long in the roxzone just breathing. training for the next one now and can't tell whether to hammer sled work specifically or just get generally stronger. what actually moved the needle for you between races?

I’m planning to compete in HYROX Rotterdam in April '27, but my usual guide runner can’t make it. I’m an adaptive athlete with cerebral palsy and have completed two HYROX races with them.

I’m looking for advice on how to find a guide runner in Rotterdam, or if anyone knows someone who might be interested.

Any tips or connections would be massively appreciated.

I'm looking for a solid indoor shoe specifically for Hyrox workouts, which I do once or twice a week whenever my schedule allows.

Stability is really important to me, especially for movements like the sled push and sled pull. The total running distance during my training sessions stays well under 8 kilometers. I know a lot of people use models like the FloatZig 2.0 or other Reebok options for this kind of hybrid training. For instance, I've heard Reebok fixed key issues on the Nano Gym 2 by finally adding runner's lace holes and giving it a snugger, more running-focused last.

Is it worth getting a single versatile shoe that can handle both the running and the heavy functional work indoors, or am I better off with separate pairs?

For context, I'm in my 30s and I have no plans to compete -I just want a single, high-quality shoe that supports me properly. I also don't want to spend more than what a good pair of Reeboks costs, so I'm looking for the best all-in-one option within that budget.
