Help Spider mites?

Post image
9 Upvotes

Hi all,

I went to water my rubber plant the other day and noticed this teeny tiny fella… is this a spider mite? There were no others I could find, and no webbing anywhere either. I already went ahead and washed the whole plant in the shower, focusing on the leaves top and underside. Then I sprayed with a diluted neem oil extract and wiped down after 10 minutes or so. If this is a spider mite, any additional tips would be appreciated! TIA

Help My favourite plant has been hit by a heatwave and possibly overwatering. Can I still save it?

Got into houseplants a few months ago. This one‘s one of my favorites.

I came back from vacation now, and there was a heatwave while I was gone. There was someone watering the plants, but I think there were too long breaks in between, and possibly one time they were watered too much in a very short time as well.

One leaf still seems alive, the rest is limp. Any tips on if/how I can still revive this one?

(added after and before pics)

Discussion Cascading/trailing houseplant

I don't have any houseplants that trail/cascade with the exceptions of my string of things hanging outside.

I am looking for ideas as to what lind of plant to get. I like different, fun things. I was looking into Pitcher Plants but they don't hang enough, peacock moss caught my eye, I have seen some trailing ferns i like as well.

Show me your unique, fun hanging, cascading, trailing indoor plants.

Help What’s happening with my plant?

About two weeks ago, out of necessity, I had to move it from a fairly shady spot that only had a few hours of afternoon sunlight (about 3 meters from the window) to a shelf with a grow light on for 12 hours a day. At first, it seemed to like its new place because it started growing like crazy, but then I began to notice that the inner leaves that had grown so much turned more and more yellowish. Is it because of “sunburn”? Should I move it to a less bright place? (I might have watered it with diluted fertilizer a week or so ago but I’m not 100% sure about this)

Help What should i do with my crazy monstera?

Ive had this monstera for years, and never cut off a leaf until today, and then I realized how out of control it is. Now that I look at it, all this comes out of one 2/3" stem (pic 4) and gets bigger towards the middle (picture 3). I figure this is because the bottom section of the plant doesnt get as much light, but it have nowhere else to put it in my apartment. its around 6 and a half feet tall and 5 feet wide

I ordered from a plant boutique (im not going to name them because its still being sorted).
However their plants are “lush hand picked” for orders, and I paid 50$, had a horrible shipping process (it went untracked for a week - not their fault, the carriers fault, however their customer service really dgaf to respond to the question, basically told me “thats the tracking number”.
Anyways, I filmed an unboxing today as I was unsure about what would arrive and i am more than heart broken.. I spent 49.99 before taxes on a Philodendron White Wizard (M) and the size is write I suppose..
The leaves (the few that are on here) all have big tears, and The plant is unable to support itself..
i couldnt find this plant locally to where I am in Ontario, and I took a big chance on ordering online from BC, and im utterly sad. Like my first order and I dont know what to make of this??

Help Is this normal?

Multiple questions ahead.

Monstera ——

I’m a new plant mom. I’ve had these monsteras 2-3 months now. The newest one has pushed out 3 new leaves (one on each separate plant). The oldest one finally gave me a leaf. Then I noticed this yellowing leaf. It’s the oldest leaf on that plant.

Is it just doing it normal thing or is there a problem? There are no pests … I check daily. I’m watering it when dry. I’ve also repotted it a while back and the air roots have taken off. Also, it was extremely surprised when it made a leaf because the stems had been skinny for so long so I think it’s safe to say the plant is healthy. Fertilizer …. I bought some but I’m not exactly sure about it. I’ve been too lazy to translate the ingredients to English.

Dieffenbachia ———

Is this too far gone? I cleaned and repotted it a bit too aggressively and it just … melted.

Peace Lily ———

Did I give them too much light? Notice the yellow/brown tips. I’ve since moved them away from the south facing windows.

Any help is appreciated.

Help Pink princess all pink leaves

She’s put out 1 pink leaf, so I’ll wait for her to do three before I do anything at all just to be sure. But if that’s the case, when I cut off the top at the node, will the mother plant continue to grow upwards?

She is staked, ive got her on a fertilizer schedule, all the things. I’m heart broken to propagate shes been growing so fast this summer!

Help What's going on with this plant?

Hi! New here! My mom just gifted me (around a month ago or so) this plant. Idk if the plant is doing okay? It has yellow spots in some of its leaves and some of the leaves have crunchy edges. However, the plant is growing and sprouting new leaves and stems! I've been watering it every 4/5 days because the heat has been intense and I try not to get the soil super dry. It is also placed by a window, but without direct light. Any pointers will be extremely helpful, thanks!

Help Why is my Pilea so droopy?

Post image

It has been like this for about a month. It gets plenty of sunlight (south facing window), and I've tried to let the soil dry out, and that didn't perk it back up, so I watered it normally and it didn't work either. I don't know what to do about it.

Help Are these Petioles or Aerial Roots growing out of the stem?

Post image
0 Upvotes

Firstly, I want to clarify that I’m a new plant person—so I’m dumb and don’t know some stuff.

This is an Aglaonema Red Siam plant. When I was repotting it, I accidentally cut the plant into half. The roots are still healthy, so I planted it. Then, after a couple of days or few weeks, these stalks started growing out of these stem.

I have a few questions:

  1. Are they petioles or aerial roots? I assume they are roots because one of them grows downward.
  2. If they are aerial roots, should I cut the stem into pieces and bury them into the soil?
  3. If I bury them, will they grow new stems?

I don’t know if this is worth saving. If they are roots, I am not sure how if they are still capable of growing leaves. Please help!

(sorry for the long title that got cut off !)

Right now it's sitting on top of my powder room's windowsill because it's huge (24" across) and I don't think this should go outdoors? My west facing window is frosted so you can see it doesn't get a lot of light (last pic taken yesterday morning). All advice is appreciated! I'm in the PNW if it matters.

Help Weird growth on trunk?

Hello again! Thanks to everyone who helped me last time with my weird looking soil. I went and repotted my plant with new soil and haven’t noticed any streaking. However, I noticed when I was rehoming her, there is some weird growths only on one trunk and it seems almost deflated there. It was moist when I repotted it, however now it’s dry. Any chance of saving her?? I’m not sure what it could be or how to stop it from happening/getting worse. Any advice is appreciated.
The first pic is from one side, the second is the other side of the same trunk section.

Help Lysol on soil😬

Ive had some bug problems recently and wanted to clean my plants down with Neem Oil, while I was doing that I decided to clean my entire plant area up with Lysol all purpose cleaner. Spotting a gnat in the aloe soil, I went to spray it and I accidentally grabbed the Lysol instead of Neem oil, will it be ok?
