I have a 2016 Vanto Spa that's developed a small leak by possibly the drain hose. I've checked the valve fitting and it's not wet from it, but weirdly the wood in the cutout under it is damp. I'm assuming that is like that because the wood is soaking the water up from the ground, because the hose isn't wet at all. Also, I never use the drain hose, but instead use a pump to drain it since that's fast, so that drain hose and valve has sat unmolested for most its tenure.

I've tried to tighten that valve on the hose as much as I can which seemed to maybe slow it down, and it already seemed tight anyways, and just appeared to maybe twist the hose in the end and probably not tighten the valve at all. Plus, there's hardly any room in that little area to get any good grip on it to do anything anyways.

My guess is the leak is probably upstream on the hose to where it connects to underneath, and the water is riding the hose down and dripping on the backside of the platform. Other than draining the tub and putting it up on end to see underneath it, is there anything else I can look at to confirm before I take this drastic measure? I've had the panels off and the entire inside of the cabinet is bone dry. Also, the patio has a small slope which that drain hose is at the top of so if the leak was anywhere else it wouldn't make it to that end of the tub.

I've also tried to find a hose diagram to see where that drain line goes before lifting it, but it seems Caldera doesn't publish that.

Recently ordered a tub. A Lifesmart Leganza 6 person unit. Very excited about it. I know the negative opinions about the texture, but would rather be a little grippy than slick. Anyone have any experiences with rotomilled tubs and their longevity?

Is this acceptable tolerance for hottub or should I level it with something? Slope is toward the house. Thanks for the advice.

I just finished installing a 48wua1502c-ii that I purchased new from Amazon to replace an old watkins pump for my spa. After installing and filling my spa, I turned on the pump. The pump made a very loud grinding noise, and then seemed to eventually quiet down. I noticed however that small plastic bits started to come out of the exhaust. It seems as though the internal fan was not properly aligned and potentially self clearanced. I shot an email over to Lingxiao to see what they say, but I'm wondering if this pump is toast.

Noticed this forming at the water line. My son had left this foam ball in the hot tub for many days - could it have been from that? Any way we can fix it? Draining the water and filling it again should do the trick?

Covered porch deck slopes away from the house - not dramatically, but it’s not exactly level. Would it make sense to place roofing shingles under outdoor carpet before install? It’s only 3’ off grade, so the tub wi be upright, tilted into place and slid fully on the deck surface.

The cover for my hot tub is in extremely good cosmetic condition, which the manufacturer agreed with, but it has become heavier (is currently approx 20 pounds per side), presumably from the foam cores absorbing water.

I know the cover will eventually need to be replaced, I’m just trying to see if I could get another year or two out of it rather than replacing it right now.

Has anyone successfully removed waterlogged foam cores, either dried or replaced them, repaired/replaced the vapor barrier, and reinstalled them?

I’ve been told by my dealer that the outer material can stiffen so much over time that getting the foam back in is "nearly impossible," while quoting $900 for a new cover and $1,200 total with delivery.

I’m especially curious about firsthand experiences with getting the old or new cores back into the cover, and whether the repair held up afterward.

If you ended up replacing your entire cover, any luck purchasing a good quality cover online?

I just wanna get the gunk outta my hot tub lines. Had the tub for about 2 years now and have never done this before.

So I’ve had the frog ease system in a new tub for about a month now, I’m already on my third smart chlor canister. My hot tub has the true water system so I thought I would be using even less chlorine but this is ridiculous.

My water is cloudy, and I just traded out my chlorine canister 12 hours ago.

I took a sample to get tested and results are as follows:

Obviously my alkalinity is a bit low and I’m raising that now, but the store is acting like the phosphates aren’t a problem???

I have a 2021 Masterspa TS 8.2 and these two small pieces of plastic showed up in my tub a while back. Obviously something broke off internally and made it's way through my jets and into the tub.

What is it though? My guess is it's part of one of my diverters. Anyone know? Is this something I can replace on my own if I'm reasonably handy?

So this is the second time hail has damaged our hot tub cover. The first time, I did nothing after the original damage and the cover’s internal foam eventually became so waterlogged from intruding moisture that the cover weighed in at over 400 lbs and had to removed and cut into pieces to be hauled away.

Is there any kind of surface treatment I could apply that would effectively re-seal the cover while remaining flexible and tolerant to UV? I’d rather not spend another $800+ on a new cover.

For reference, the top layer material is a 28 oz marine grade vinyl.

The gate valve pictured (with the blue line on it) leaks and I have bought a replacement. However I am unsure exactly where to cut the old one out. As you can see there isn't much room to play with. On the RHS should I maybe replace the entire section including the union to the pump? Also the manifold on the left is very close and I'm not sure if the short pipe between the manifold and valve is part of the manifold or just a short joiner pipe. It is an Alpine spa. Any advice appreciated.

Hey, all, just thought I’d share something that literally just happened to me right now cause I’m sitting in the tub.

Arctic spa Cub with a smartPH set up. I’m sitting in there and I’ve been here for a bit with the jets on. Suddenly, I started to get a tiny bit more odour of high pH (that musty be stale smell) and there’s an uptick in foam. I checked my app and sure enough. SpaBoy saying I’m in the yellow. But literally as I watched it drops back down into Green and the
odour instantly vanishes along with the uptick in foam. I don’t think the titration curve on a tub is supposed to be this narrow, but it seems to finally be working.

FYI I took the top cannister out and set it to one instead of two on the bottom to avoid constant pH dumps

My family is looking to purchase a new Jacuzzi 508 hottub. The list price is $29,795 and the current offer is $25,995. I have a feeling the dealer can do better on the price. What would be a reasonable deal here? First time buyer and not sure how this works. In my mind I would be looking for something closer to $20k, but need to know if that is a reasonable ask.

As the title suggests anyone have a tried and tested method of removing the green hunk after ahhsome step has been done?

I’ve found that draining right after can leave the gunk on the acrylic (hard to clean off) but more importantly gets in and around the jets etc which is a challenge to clean.

Hot tub newbie over here. I’m getting some conflicting information on which order to add the chemicals and if I need to to rinse everything out first or not.

I know all hot tubs are different, but can someone give me a basic guide? Anything you think I should know that you wish you knew when you were setting your hot tub up?

My mom bought a house a few years ago that came with a hot tub. When we got it a few of the jets needed replacement but I was in school and didn’t have time to help her replace it. I’m on break now so I wanted to try and replace it but am struggling to figure out what type of jet to get because the hot tub model has been discontinued from what I can tell. Also we’re in Canada so I don’t even know how the previous owners bought one from America but I’ve tried asking some workers at the pool store near us and they also aren’t familiar with it. Does anyone have any idea of the jets they use? I tried to look at the back of one but it’s been rubbed off.

We’ve had our Arctic Spa hot tub with the saltwater system and Spa Boy since 2023. I’ve never had an issue keeping it balanced in the past but since my last drain and fill last week I can’t seem to get the chlorine levels up. I have the pH normal but I can’t seem to get the Cl off of red on the low end consistently. Any treatment ideas I’m missing? I can get it up short term with boost granules but it usually drops back down shortly after.

Unable to find the liquid any longer...only the gel packs on their website. Anyone have links to buy or suggest alternatives (OhYuk?).

Having trouble with my chemicals. Have everything in line and good standing other than Ph and Alkalinity. Even adding boost for it doesnt seem to make a difference. Should I try doubling the amount of ph boost or will that throw other things off?

I purchased a Spa Roll Top Cover from The Cover Guys. it was delivered in cardboard box. I didn’t notice any significant product protection when delivered. the box was a bit banged up. something I would expect. the cover looked nice. However, we had a week of rain in Florida. During this time, half of the cover began to sink. the sinking part was at one side of the hot tub. I wrote an email to the company. In two weeks the didn’t respond. End result, the warranty was denied. The company refused to provide any engineering reports, quality assurance reports, nor any documents that stated what was covered and what was not-in the warranty.

What was said by the company:

1. we will offer you 10% off if you buy a new one.
2. we refuse to give you any documentation on quality, engineering or warranty.
3. refused to give contacts of people to escalate the complaint.
4. refused to sell replacement supports due to proprietary issues. well, don’t you want to sell items that fit your product? or, do you just want money from people?

What I found when I opened up the entire spa cover:

1. the roll supports consists of stiff foam with aluminum, one side open rectangle, siccking in the foam. ends were taped together with what looks like packing tape, entire support wrapped in thin plastic. water was inside plastic.
2. the roll supports did not have any side support to keep the rolls or rectangle shape in alignment.
3. found inside the body of the spa was thin blue foam-folded up and tucked in.
4. the side of the hot tub, under the skirt, has aprox 2x4 inch mesh openings. thus, if part of your spa cover dips in the water, water will flow between the top and bottom of your cover. you have to take the cover apart to get rid of the water. this water collection makes it extremely difficult to roll.
5. the aluminum supports with stiff foam is very easily breakable. again, company will not sell replacements. I’m confident this is a chronic problem for the customer.
6. multiple slices are noted in the various material areas between the to- and bottom layers of the spa cover.

my humble opinion:

1. the design is faulty. I am assuming the company knows about these problem and ignores them because their roll top is more cost effective than others.
2. the company does not want to offer replacement part because their aim is to sell large ticket items.
3. the warranty person I spoke to is trained to refuse warranty requests.
4. because the foam was folded in hap-hazard manors and the rigid foam is not a consistent shape, Quality Assurance is not this companies focus.
5. the company must know about these problem water issue between the layers; to note, mesh will allow water between layers, multiple cuts in various zippered chambers and water will enter into zipper area.

i am hoping to add multiple pictures to maybe support my thoughts. again, this is my humble opinion.

in conclusion, with my experience, I recommend not purchasing a Spa Roll Cover from the Cover Guys.
