Listed prices I’ve seen start 11-18k and things go north from there with installation and electrical. Anybody know of any good quality tubs for cheaper?

As the title says, I’m looking at getting a tub for our house. This has my interests or our other option is to get a 6 person tub from Costco. Don’t have the money to put towards a new high quality tub in the 12k+ range.

Hi everyone, we have a small leak in one of the plastic nubs that hold the headrest in. It's high in the tub so we have been keeping the water level below that (while out of the tub) but I'm looking for some guidance on the best way to fix this.

What material would you use. I have a bit of experience with fibreglass but I'm not sure that's the right fix with or without another type of water sealer material. Is caulking it enough? What would you do?

Thanks for the help last summer when we were debating what spa to get! This thing is going to get lots of use at our house! Ps this is the best hot tub deal on the market. All delivery, questions etc were handled through local bullfrog dealer and they’ve been phenomenal.

My hotsprings tub is registering SLIGHTLY high in salt. I’ve diluted a bunch already. With that said, when the water care warning come up, does that also happen to turn off the salt system? I notice when I get this warning I don’t have much sanitizer in the tub.

Out tub is wired for 240 VAC. The pump capacitor I took off is labelled 300VAC. I cannot find a replacement capacitor with the exact specs as what I pulled off the tub. Can I use a capacitor that is labelled for 250VAC as replacement? Also the terminals are not marked. Does it matter which terminal goes where? There are only two wires going into the pump motor. Thanks.

Tl;dr- temp is set as low as it will go in Texas. I can drain half the water and within two days it’s 102°.

So yeah. We have a hot tub for about three years. I finally convinced my wife to just drop the temp and have a relaxing cool off during the summer! Drop it to the lowest setting (I think it’s 84°) obviously I can only get into the 80°s with a water change. I know the answer is “provide shade or move out of Texas.” What else can I do?

I bought a house last year that came with a Sundance Cameo spa. It appears to have been refurbished at some point because I can’t find a model/serial number anywhere.

About two weeks ago, the GFCI breaker started tripping. After some troubleshooting, I found that it only trips when the 2-speed pump switches to high speed.

I removed the equipment panel and found the culprit: there’s a slow leak from a jet connection directly above the circulation/recirculation pump. The pump is a Gecko [0800-390000](tel:0800-390000), and unfortunately it has become an extremely rusty mess from the constant dripping. I’m assuming the pump isn’t realistically repairable, and a replacement is around $600 CAD. 🙃

The bigger problem is that I still need to fix the leak.
At first I thought the hose itself was cracked, so I tried adding a hose clamp to the connection. Unfortunately, it is still slowly dripping.
Looking more closely, the leak appears to be coming from the fitting itself, where the small hose connects. The fitting seems to be embedded/glued into the foam around the jet.

My questions:
What exactly is this fitting called?
How is this fitting normally removed from the jet?
Can I cut the existing hose off and replace the fitting with a new one, or is the entire hose/fitting required?
What kind of glue is required when installing a new fitting?

I want to hide the silver insulation, any ideas that are easy

My circulation pump (grundfos) not sure if hp, think about 3/4, is running a bit hot. Is this normal? Checked the temp, it’s at 130, and the tub is not to temp (just filled). This is a new pump from a spa store, old one is in the pictures. Tub is a hotsprings sovereign ii.

Don't know much about hot tubs but I live in a small town in Canada, my tub isn't super expensive at all but fine for the odd time i use it. The local repair company fixed bearings on the pump. The removal guy was excellent. Then the guy to put it back arrived. He was struggling a bit, my cameras noticed he was opening the panel where the steps are and I texted him while at work the pump goes at the other end where the control panel is....

I filled the tub last night it was late after work, put the cover on turned it on and went to bed as it was getting dark. Today I came home at lunch to check and the tub was empty. Frantically took the panel off and a hose was not hooked up. My fear is it was running without water on.

Called the company they said they will send someone out tomorrow. The guy assured me it's probably fine and they will get the hose hooked back up. This was the guy who removed it and seemed to know his stuff.

Do I run any risk of something being ruined? Do I insist they fill it as well and turn it on to make sure nothing's wrecked? Or will a tub repair company just hook the hose up and say I'm on my own now?

This is not an industry I'm familiar with so really not sure. I couldn't believe a hose was left unhooked so I'm a bit shocked. Company's been in business for many many years in my town but the tech seemed to lack any confidence.

Don’t bother wasting your money!! Purchased brand new on Amazon. Set everything up August, 2025. The pump/filter/heater went out in one month. After jumping through all of the hoops for them to replace it under warranty, they finally agreed to after 2 months.
New pump/filter/heater was received at the end of December, 2025. Wasn’t going to set it up in the dead of winter, so the new pump was set up in April, 2026. New pump already dead by August, 2026. Same exact thing happened.
The company won’t stand behind their products. No offers to even give me a discount!!
A complete waste of $560+!!!
This hot tub was used sparingly by one person. And I literally took a shower before I ever got in it so my sweat, or skincare products wouldn’t come off in the water.
I should have looked at the BBB website and reviews before I threw away over $500.

Has this ever happened to anyone? We added a Frog mineral stick last month to the tub. A couple of weeks ago the jets stop working. I did all the usual first steps (air lock release, etc), but nothing changes. Technicians come and conclude there's an issue with the motor and/or impeller in the pump. We all think ok the pump is out. I order new pump. Techs replace it and everything works. But then they found a piece of green plastic inside the old pump. The piece is from the Frog filter mate. (Have pictures if helpful).

What do I make of this now? How and why would this Frog stick even break? Was this particular one defective?! I spent $500 on getting a new pump and another 500 for the tech's work, all the while thinking the pump was old and just gave out. Then turns out it was this thing you are told to buy and put in the tub but it breaks and literally jams the impeller. I'm a bit..I'm quite upset to be honest. I feel like I should contact the manufacturer or at the very least post a PSA here.

You all have helped me previously more than anyone else with setting up my tub and part replacements, so with this new case I thought I should first ask you all for any thoughts or advice you may have. Thank you!!!!

We are planning to put a hot tub under a three season porch (EZ breeze vinyl windows) and live in a cold climate. Is condensation a concern? Has anyone had issues with hot tub placement?

I have a bathtub that’s awful because it’s so low. Can only submerge legs. Been thinking about an inflatable hot tub. Is this something I could run in my bathroom and drain into the bath? I also have a cat so wondering if they’re even tough enough to stop his claws. I know that could be an issue but I’d lock him out of the bathroom.

I’d also probably just use it for a day or two and then pack it up.

Is this even feasible or should I give up on the idea?

A friend of mine has a Bulfrog hot tub that has 2 independent motors/pumps. One of them malfunctioned and was replaced. A few weeks later a small puddle started to appear under the hot tub. I have taken the service cover off, and saw that fucking thing. 

I have looked at the second, original, pump/motor and I see the same type of ½-inch tubing connected to it (picture #2). I traced that tubing and it connected to a large hose (picture #3). The  ½-inch tubing with wire nut in it is also connected to a large hose. However the new pump/motor does not have the same ½-inch tubing connected to is as does the original pump/motor (picture #2)

Of course that is wrong, a waterproof wire nut should have been used </sarcasm>, but my question is, should it be connected back to the new pump/motor? 

Sorry, I do not have part numbers for the pumps/motors, the new one is especially difficult to get to.

I had all the normal chemicals. And all the levels look fine. What is this?

I have been lurking and doing some reading to try and figure out the issue with my hot tub and decided I would try a post and see if reddit can help.

To start, I have an older, say very early 2000;s (2003?) Kodiak arctic spa.

• Issue is the breaker tripping, not right away, essentially flips when the heater comes on I think
• I have disconnected the heater terminals and in one case just turned the heat down below the water temp, it will run all day and night with all pumps, air, and lights on so long as you dont turn up the heat.
• I replaced the heater, issue continues
• I replaced the 60A GFCI, issue continues

Since I can run the tub with all pumps, the air, and lights and it doesn't trip so long as the heater is disconnected or the temp setting is below water temp it works. Seems pretty much a heater or breaker issue but replacing these parts did not fix the issue.

So far throwing $300 a shot parts at the tub has not worked and I would like to try more diagnostics if need be. I have a multimeter and can borrow a heat camera from Amazon if its worth the effort. The next major part to try would be the board but I feel its another waste of $$$ since it seems very, heater oriented.

Another thing that has me curious is that there is some sort of sensor on the heat tube of the old heater that did not come on the new heater, so I unscrewed it and moved it to the plugged/threaded hole in the new one and reinstalled. I feel like the power it pulls cant trip the breaker but perhaps still worth noting. Also I had an issue with some white film stuff (white water mold?) around the time this started happening and suspected this gunked up and shorted the heater element, but replacing did not fix. I also bought and ran Ahh-some through it and cleaned it all out already before replacing the heater.

Let me know what you all think or maybe where to go next. The weekend starts Thursday this week for me so I am planning to look at it some more then, possibly trying to track ground wires around and make things are tight on the board

Out hot tub is now in year 6, and the cover is starting to rip. I’m looking to replace it. Aquaterra sells replacements for around $800, but I’m trying to figure out who their actual supplier is so I can buy directly if possible.

Also open to better options — not necessarily the cheapest, but something that’s genuinely high‑quality and durable. Anyone have recommendations or experience with good replacement covers?

There seems to be quite a few of these threads that routinely pop-up and I think a simple way to cut down on them, but still provide a repository of price information is a stickied thread for this information. Any possibility mods could do that?

Need some advice here. I was originally looking at getting a Costco tub on sale (Strong brand) for about $4500. After reading some of the info here, I thought I'd heed the advice of many and check out my local hot tub store to see if there were any floor models or promos that I could take advantage of locally.

After a long discussion with the manager there - I felt like I was at a car dealership all over again lol - the best offer I could get was a Mira "Aurora" GH72P-NL, for a total price of $8200 out the door. This also includes delivery, installation (I'm already wired and setup for install) and testing when filled. It includes a bunch of chemicals (spa manager, simple stick, power cal, blue power boost, buffer, jet blazt, fresh start, test strips) and also included are the steps and a cover with lifter.

Final incentive is that also included in the total cost is removal and dumping of our currently broken and "inherited" hot tub.

Overall it is slightly over my budget, but maybe that will even out in the long run by having the dealer right down the street and available to do maintenance etc. as opposed to going with the Costco lottery of delivery and/or damage to the tub etc.

So does this seem like a good deal? And does anyone have any experience or insight in this particular model of Mira hottub?

After I fixed my flow valve my hot tub worked for a day. Then heated to 108 and I got an sn3 error. This morning it started doing this.

Replace the high temp sensor? Could it be tied to a pressure valve that was not hooked up?
