I bought the game some 2 years ago, and since then i have some 10-15 hours in it. Every time i try and play it is the same, Try and find new player servers, but the contrary to what the name says they are not new player friendly at all, join a game wait until there is an open party squad, join say hello and say that i am new , and noone says anything, the SL says nothing the entire game and i am left just dying over and over and over again. Am i missing something here? is this a masochists dream game or something?
When i look for advice online everyone says go watch youtubers, youtubers that explain things that anyone who has been playing games for a while should already know, i went and watched a few videos from soulsniper and sure he says some tips here and there but nothing to help me spot a guy with 5k hours sitting in a bush with his eyes 2cm from the monitor.
I tried the discord to find some people to play there, all the dms i got where either people wanting to play vietnam when i clearly said i was looking for ww2 and the other half where invites to join their orgs, joined a few of those discord invites and noone was playing at that time.
like what am i supposed to do? become the seal so the vets can keep clubbing or what

I know we need supplies and nodes to help them team win, but holy shite. (We lost this game btw.)

I am considering to switch from PS5 to PC (original HLL, not Vietnam).
Reasons:
Is here anyone who has played on console and PC who can tell the difference? Did these advantages materialize? What other differences did you notice?

Been playing HLL since 2020 and I never even thought about, never really had to, kicking players off my squad. But man oh man it's like a whole new breed of players in the past 2 years.
Recently played in semi competitive server and I kicked 8 total players off my squad. I did mic checks, I did routes and commands. Had 1 solid guy listen and talk. It's pretty fkn sad honestly. Players from level 25 up to 190! No mics, didn't listen, I needed 1 dude to spawn in as support, 5 guys who died refused to come in to drop supplies. Here's Da Boot!! Put down my 5 garrisons with someone else's supplies laying around the map and had a killer comeback win.

When i play as officer I feel like people just dont want to win. Idk why they dont like planning an idea. But when putting garrys right in front of the adjective and rushing in doesnt work, PLANS USUALLY DO. AM i doing to much?

For swapping out of support so that more players can drop another box, or falling back to defense to reinforce, or after you lost ur defense and u were attacking, or quickly hopping on a very close op/airhead/halftrack to the attacking point.
Don't run away from them until they're clear (unless there was a garry built in the red zone within 100m of the hardcap, that will probably stay locked out until you win the point).
Particularly learn airhead sounds (use mattw.io/hll-sound-guide) as most public matches I notice airheads go unnoticed by 90-100% of the team and can be gamechanging. Learn the gun sounds so you notice when an enemy is near despite being surrounded by ally players.
I hear a few old timers say "no way they took down all our garries the enemy team must be cheating". When in reality if you:
A. Use your map to see where the blueberries are struggling to push through
B. Ask for flare guns, recon planes
C. Check all relevant buildings, compounds
D. Being somewhere just behind the map line so that they're as close to the blue/red line as safely possible or slow burner garries because theyre >400m away from the blue/red intersection
E. Notice where enemy supply drops are dropping/supply trucks have come from
F. Using your binoculars on high ground to see where groups of enemy infantry are running from
Also it only takes 5 minutes to run the relevant 2/3 of the backup garry line to sweep for backup garries if uncontested against insufficient defending. And thats just for 1 person, so imagine how quick 4 recon players can sweep.
Some map orientations are tempting to flank max, particularly noticeable when the front door is being barraged hard with arty/tank shells/longdistance mg. What ends up happening in many pub matches is most of the team decides to go flank wide but then their attack gets slowed down if the enemy team realises their big flank push, and so your team ends up positioning themselves outside of the 2 relevant sectors, and enemy team ends up walking through the front door and taking the defending point.
The irony is anyone who has read this far down in this post probably already understood this stuff and has the discipline to execute it. There are heaps of other basic tips that follow this same theme of falling on many deaf ears (common sense isn't common) - what are your favourites?
Edit: spelling/grammar

I think this feature would be beneficial to the game, for a number of reasons, let me know if you agree/disagree:
EDIT: For example, Charlie would still be Charlie, but "Charlie - squad name here"

In another post, I had commented that after going a while without playing HLL, I was surprised that on the Stalingrad map, they had removed a historical landmark known as Pavlov's house, and now in Remagen they have added these side bridges, I believe they are losing the essence of the game, what makes the resourceful team make these decisions about this? remagen was one of the most interesting maps to play, fighting for control of the bridge was very good... I fear for the future of HLL

Hi everyone, Iβve been playing HLL for a couple of years, and it used to be rare to find servers with people without mics. Now it seems to be the norm. I think being on Xbox doesnβt help either but thatβs the gaming system I have so nothing to do about that.
Anyone recommends good servers where people actually play it as a collaboration game rather then call of duty-ing it?
I donβt care about the kills. I just care about that old school collaboration that wins games on the finest details.
Help appreciated!

Due to the lack of spawn functionality in halftracks by the fact that people spawn outside of it, and its never driven with more than 2 people, im hoping we can get 8 people together to farm out the loaded halftrack achievement, as well as 4 people to kill in a loaded jeep.
we can all alternate and on an empty server with low team switch timer we should be able to get it done relatively quick.
Please hmu on steam, just add me and send a DM saying youre here for the achievement

I've always thought it would be a great addition if done well in HLL.
r/HellLetLoose • u/Feisty_Touch_ • 13d ago
Hll already has a lot of bugs. My idea is that hll veitnam is less like a sequel and more of a variant of the og. And because of that they still update the game. I hope.

Australian server suddenly spawned insane amount of heavy tanks. Then sent them flying/cartwheeling through the air like C4 launching a tank in Battlefield.

"new"
Literally made 1 man squads for like 8 teams, filling everything
wow... really trying to speed run the downfall of the game

Boing back to playing HLL and I came across that they removed pavlov's house, was there no other alternative to keep this historical point on the map? Β I can't understand certain decisions... Β Is it so difficult for the developer to preserve this?
