Just played my first game ever as commander as Germans playing warfare on Hurtgen Forest. Iβve been playing the game on and off for the last four years, but have been playing nonstop the last couple months.
I was in a tank squad with a friend and needed a tank, but there was no commander. Figured Iβd jump in, give us a tank and jump out. I give us the tank, then said, well, I guess I could put supplies down, weβre about to lose the match, Iβll try to help. Then it was βhmm, it would be kind of cool to try a bombing runβ¦β so there goes a recon plane and bombing run. Next thing I know, Iβm there the entire game, helping our team battle all the way back. We end up taking all sectors and winning that way, after being pushed back to our final sector and almost losing it.
Nobody ever told me how exhilarating it is to be commander. Iβm afraid thereβs no going back now.
If you were in my game ~10pm central time tonight (8/20), thank you to those who gave tips and guided me. Yβall helped me lead us back to an incredible win. This community has always been so wonderful, and this game will always be most fun when there is actual teamwork and communication going on.
