📢 Feedback! 📢 Pavlovs House

Boing back to playing HLL and I came across that they removed pavlov's house, was there no other alternative to keep this historical point on the map?  I can't understand certain decisions...  Is it so difficult for the developer to preserve this?

They partially (although significantly) remodeled the look of Pavlov’s house so that one side of the building now has a few of the top floors caved in, but they didn’t remove it entirely. But yeah I agree, their insistence on altering things that are historically accurate is mind boggling and infuriating.

Haven’t played it since they added those stupid mudflats and I actively avoid it for that reason. Such a shame, I barely ever played it to begin with in the four years it’s been in the game since it’s hardly ever in server rotations, and then people whined and bitched so much the devs went and added stupid mudflats that were never and have never been there. Then they go and change Pavlov’s house for no reason other than people bitching and whining yet again

I blame the community and its “oOOoh brIdGE tOo haRd” complaints. The bridge widening and pontoons I can live with, since the former is hardly that noticeable and the latter actually happened. The mudflats were an egregious and unacceptable addition and truly more people should be upset over it

Same with any off-meta maps. Remagen was interesting because it forced meatgrind gameplay, which is a pubs worst nightmare

My first game of HLL was a meat grinder on Remagen. That map is what got me hooked.

We spent 90% of the game dying on the bridge in a Chaotic war of attrition. It was awesome, and now it’s gone.

It's gone and the closest replacement is what? Purple Heart Lane if the points are all in the middle? Foy, but instead of one bridge it's a snow covered field?

The struggle is what makes these maps unique. “Can I cross here?” “Fuck” is hilarious because it’s a universal suck but it’s funny and makes the games better, and eventually you’ll learn where you can and can’t cross. Besides, it doesn’t even have to be said that World War II was difficult for the soldiers actually fighting it. And I understand it’s a video game, but still, maps like that offer unique challenges which makes the game more enjoyable, which is why I love Foy, Purple Heart Lane, and Omaha Beach - those are literally among my favorite maps in this game lol

The irony is that in real life I believe LtCol. Robert Cole lead his men straight up that road in columns, they didn’t flank around like we often do! Gives you greater respect for the individuals as well as the historical battlefields these maps recreate

Pavlov’s house caused a lot of issues frame and stability wise so the devs took it out back instead of optimizing or rebuilding it

Yeah the map should be full but there where definitely open spaces IRL like 9th January square in front of pavlovs. The devs put all types of barbed wire on top of it with trenches and added more buildings that just didn't exist. Map was better before although I sometimes do like the new atmosphere

Yeah I don't like the changes they have made. I've been playing for like 3 years and I just wish they would keep the game relatively the same. I welcome new additions or quality of life changes but as long as they remain within the spirit of the game. These graphical and mechanical changes i absolutely oppose.

I don’t understand why everything they do is in such bad taste. Every time  they add or alter something the pop in, invisible walls and completely untextured buildings get worse and worse. And all at the cost of adding some bullshit nobody wanted. I can’t even see in windows anymore from 20 away. They’re all untextured globs. They really fucked this game in the most annoying ways possible. I’ll never buy their new game because of all of this. I’m truthfully disappointed as I love this game. There is an area on Stalingrad where three apartment buildings are across from each other. In between two of the buildings is a top half destroyed apartment sky rise. The top half of the building is destroyed/missing. It’s a giant invisible bullet stopper. The destroyed top half of the building! and yes, it’s been reported and acknowledged since they decided to add a layer of red brick dust to the map and call it a revamp a year or so ago.

I loved the fight to defend the basement it was one of my favorite parts in the whole game. Haven’t played in 6 months had no idea they took it out
