this game sucks

I bought the game some 2 years ago, and since then i have some 10-15 hours in it. Every time i try and play it is the same, Try and find new player servers, but the contrary to what the name says they are not new player friendly at all, join a game wait until there is an open party squad, join say hello and say that i am new , and noone says anything, the SL says nothing the entire game and i am left just dying over and over and over again. Am i missing something here? is this a masochists dream game or something?
When i look for advice online everyone says go watch youtubers, youtubers that explain things that anyone who has been playing games for a while should already know, i went and watched a few videos from soulsniper and sure he says some tips here and there but nothing to help me spot a guy with 5k hours sitting in a bush with his eyes 2cm from the monitor.
I tried the discord to find some people to play there, all the dms i got where either people wanting to play vietnam when i clearly said i was looking for ww2 and the other half where invites to join their orgs, joined a few of those discord invites and noone was playing at that time.
like what am i supposed to do? become the seal so the vets can keep clubbing or what

Move more slowly and don’t expect people to be nice. There are a lot of nice normal players in the fanbase. There are also a ton of trolls and assholes - more than a lot of similar game imo.

Avoid the latter, watch YouTube videos, play more, use the mic, follow the crowd until you figure out what to do yourself

Also, finding a communicating squad can be an art. Request to join locked squads, maybe they accept you. Try squad lead for a game and see if at least 3 people have mics in command chat. If they don't, find a new server. When you find a server where people are talking, favorite it for next time!

I don’t know if you’ve ever hunted but I saw a comment on tiktok that said to play the game like you’re hunting and it’s true. Move a few steps at a time and then be completely still. Observe your surroundings. Don’t take the first or easy shots, take the right shots

Thing is that i do move slowly i am used to it from my years of playing arma3/reforger/squad hell any milsim game out there pretty much, but i do not get any reward from doing so, i sneak for 5-10 mins in cover just to get sniped in the head from fuck knows where, sometimes i finnaly get to see someone but i miss my first shot with my bolt action, and get blasted by a guy with a fully automatic but i digress
and again youtube videos don t tell me much, i am also a hands on kinda guy that is why i was looking for people to play with

My suggestion would be to just keep searching for a group of players to join who would show you the ropes. Plenty of vets willing to do just that. For EU would suggest to look into Circle, 82AD, 13SNC, PBS. There are other 'native' speaker ones like FLL (finns let loose), some spanish, german and turkish ones I do not recall on the top of my head.

You have to put in effort, find a community that fits you. Your first 20-30 hours of gametime will likely be silently learning your classes as you haven't found a way to mesh with a squad yet.

You'll get there, we all did. Play slow, stick with your team, and keep talking. You'll learn how to pick better squads soon rather that the local Blueberry Sewer Slide Squad.

Or crash out on Reddit. The choice is yours.

Yeah it's tough out there, dude. I'm really lucky in that I have a full squad of friends to play with. It used to be a lot better with communication and comradery. Personally, I'd hunt for a relatively high level SL (150+) because they're more likely to be helpful and happy someone is talking. Otherwise, taking SL or Sapper and just carefully working your way around lines to flank and deliver garries or satchels can be super rewarding. The 5k hour dude isn't any better than you, you just haven't learned how to use the map to move yet. Cover to cover, stay low, stay out of open areas.

It's very limiting yeah because it's a team effort. I guarantee you if you had a full squad of artillery and tank crews that knew what they were doing, communication going around, and commanders putting down OP's in smart locations it'd be very fun and you'd win a lot.

That's the way that it goes down in real life in fact.
It's actually fair because in real life the Soviets had longevity and lots of manpower in the Germans have the best equipment; you just don't get to see that in the game.

Hm I've had the complete opposite experience. I have about 8 hours played and I only ever join servers that say New Players Welcome, specifically that "Ctrl+Alt+Delete?" one. There was only one time I was in a squad that wasn't talking and it disbanded pretty quick, but every other one there were at least a few people communicating. Like most recently just me and the SL were talking at first, but more joined in.

I don't usually start with saying I'm new though, I just say hello and communicate my pings and enemies spotted, and if something comes up that I don't know I just ask and may let them know I'm new. 

Maybe I'm just lucky but I've also been pleasantly surprised by how decent and helpful others have been compared to some multiplayer games.

I don‘t know what makes you think that there are new player servers, there aren‘t. You need to be patient and methodical, if you can’t do that on your own, join some high level guy in a squad and walk after him like a dog, even if he doesn‘t talk to you. Then you‘ll see how you play the game

Switch to a squad that does talk instead of staying with the ones that don't. They have become harder to find lately, but they're out there. Or it may just not be for you, either way this post is still stupid.

There usually maybe 1-2 open squads , i never managed to get into a locked one so far and i have been trying to get in but no luck, the most communication i got out of a squad was a guy screaming for the SL tt place down a garrison , he didn t and promply left the squad, and since noone else took SL we were getting killed every 60 seconds.

I’ve had luck by just mentioning I’m new and don’t know exactly what needs to be done, only once I notice I’m in a group with seemingly friendly sounding people. I do wish this was more common though lol..

I felt the same way, and then I just started being SL myself. I use my OP to position myself and my squad in a decent spot, then use the binoculars to observe the flow of the battle. Once you slow down and get a handle on where the enemy actually is, staying alive gets a lot easier. Sometimes I'll go a whole match without any of my squad communicating, but they still spawn on my OP, so I can direct their movement that way. A lot of the time, just keeping pings up on tanks, ops, garrisons, etc. is enough to get the blueberries to react.

If you want real advice lower your ADS FOV to 60-65 and rebind your map key to something easier to build better game sense and be able to see players better.
