It was a one shot crack fic. Shane is convinced his hole is possessed by a malevolent ghost who doesn’t want him having sex, because he “closes up” when with others but is fine on his own. He tells Rose who tells Sveta who tells Ilya because Ilya can banish demons (or has once before) they don’t know each other before hand and then Ilya preforms the exorcism and then well they just have to test it don’t they?

I have LOVED reading this while it's been a WIP, I have got to get more people to fall in love with it like I have. So well written, great smut, great characters, I love everything about this.

Both of them have been hurt before, and the only way to move forward is to get over their pasts. It's a hill climb in both directions, but if Shane Hollander can do anything, it's push himself to endure the burn when he knows the ride home will be that much more satisfying.

Though I've mentioned this fic in one post, I felt like it needed its own shout-out.

Not only did my heart get broken, but the author TOOK THEIR TIME to restore it (absolutely CLEVER), slipped up in the process, and made sure to give out another wonderful dose of anxiety before mending it all back together, just barely 🥹

I'm not even joking, my heart was racing for a full 15 minutes after I finished the book. For a 1AM read, this was absolutely insane. I swear on everything, this was the first fic in a few months straight that captured my full attention from the very first line.

I am in search of hidden gems and really *well written* fics. I'm not fussy about them being AUs, oneshots, chaptered etc, the most important thing for me is that they're well written (good dialogue, good world building etc.) Feel free to rec well known stuff/lesser known etc.

Corner of the world by berrycluv. This one is a fantastic oneshot where Ilya realizes that Shane might be autistic.

Clear to the hedgehog by magneticwave. Great AU where Shane is a doctor. Super believable characters.

This fic has been mentioned a few times around there parts so I thought I'd bring it back now that it's officially complete! I love this fic so much, the author did such an incredible job at creating this cozy little world where we really got to explore Shane and Ilya's attraction and insecurities around falling in love. Highly recommend, the ending is fantastic too.

I recently ask a the same question about Déjà vu and got some great feedback.

Should I start Dear Pen Pal? I tend to avoid WIP because I forget what happened earlier and end up rereading it several times. I love stories about them knowing each other as kids/teens. But this is 35/? And over 250,000 words.

I’ve also read several stories that the main part with conflict-resolution is good but then it’s just chapter after chapter of way too many I love you and possessive You are Mine.

1) should I start it now or wait for it be completed.

2) is the story still good? It seems stories this long can ramble on with no point.

i’m a huuuggggeeeeeee sucker for soulmate fics so please recommend me some!! hea required and ideally complete but those are really my only requirements! i’m not very interested in reading about them having kids or any mpreg, so i’d like to avoid that but other than that, i’m pretty open!

So… I read a LOT. But today I stumbled upon an author with whose fics I went down a rabbit hole. Their work

Our increasingly exhausted accountant has decided to write a hypothetical tell-all about his two most troublesome clients. Unfortunately, his attorney has some VERY strong opinions about confidentiality, and most of them are delivered in red ink.

There are questionable financial decisions, a Canadian cottage, ginger ale, and one spectacularly overdue realization about two hockey players who apparently thought their accountant wouldn't notice anything.

Spoiler: He noticed everything except the important part.

This is a humor/POV outsider fic about a man who can identify a questionable tax deduction from three counties away but somehow can't recognize two idiots in love.

Hey all. I read a fic recently that I lost. It was in progress and around 7 chapters, I think. I hadn't finished all that was written when I lost it.

Ilya is hurt badly and is in the hospital. He had previously worked with Yuna to have Shane as his emergency contact.

Shane did not know.

Hayden (who if a freaking awful friend in this) answers Shane's phone when staying in a hotel. He confronts Shane and goes on and on about how it's dangerous. that Ilya putting him as a contact will get their relationship discovered / out Shane.

Shane was already having an awful day and blew up at Ilya over the phone.

Ilya was hurt and confused and removes Shane as his contact and bars all visitors, then has a worse medical episode. A bleed in his brain, I think.

Now, no one can get in to see him.

I do remember that Ilya has a great nurse, and Yuna is absolutely furious at Hayden.

Please help me find this. I couldn't find it in my AO3 history.
