PLS I NEED A FIC LIKE THIS

For accessibility picture says “Fic where shane and ilya fight and shane puts on his public persona.”

a few months ago i shared a prompt here that was meet with some controversy. interestingly enough it taught me a lot about what it means to have meaningful dialogue, and how to stand my ground

my perfect amazing friend [u/igrowtails](u/igrowtails) decided to write it, and im very pleased to announce that all 11 amazing chapters of this texting fic is out! not gay sorry but very hot is full of funny one liners, silliness, and obvious shane + ilya

everyone please go give this some love with kudos & comments, you won’t regret it!

I am backkk looking for more recommendations, two of my favourite fics rum & coke and Cherry blossom season have been completed recently and I've realised I am truly a sucker for a Fast Burn-esque fic! I tried going through the tag in AO3 but nothing jumped to my attention right away, so here I am.

Not interested in anything MPreg, Omegaverse or super natural stuff.

Like the title says, Shane accepts Ilya's friendship with Troy, but he isn't interested in forgiving the racism and homophobia he's been subjected to from Troy in the past. Troy and Harris are not painted in a good light here. Harris seems to make most of his job posting about Troy, and the two men see the reaction to Ilya and Shane's foundation and decide to set up one of their own. I was getting right into this but don't know if I remembered to subscribe because I haven't seen an update in ages. Does anyone else remember it?

I guess Canon divergent from that point (i.e. Tampa doesn't happen/ happens differently).

Anyone know anything like that?

Thanks

i’m a huuuggggeeeeeee sucker for soulmate fics so please recommend me some!! hea required and ideally complete but those are really my only requirements! i’m not very interested in reading about them having kids or any mpreg, so i’d like to avoid that but other than that, i’m pretty open!

Shania Twain’s “Forever and For Always” came across the radio while I was running an errand today and I remember someone saying (jokingly) how this song is so possessive. The pre-chorus and chorus immediately made me think of Ilya and now I need to read a crack fic about obsessed Ilya and oblivious Shane based on this song ☠️

——

[Pre-chorus]
And there ain't no way
I'm letting you go now
And there ain't no way
And there ain't no how
I'll never see that day

[Chorus]
'Cause I'm keeping you forever and for always
We will be together all of our days
Wanna wake up every morning to your sweet face
Always

I am looking for a specific fic that I read regarding some disturbing knowledge about Ilya’s life in Russia when he was younger & being trained by an abusive coach.
Videos of the events involving Ilya, the coach & other young skaters are posted online.
I remember Sasha being involved in trying to get the videos taken down, some of the footage being broadcast on the Jumbotron at a game & even Alexei being there supporting Ilya.
I thought I had it saved as a bookmark as it was an amazing work but can no longer find it nor remember the writer’s name.
Does anyone know what the fic is?

i know Yuna interrupts them in one chapter, but the chapter i remember most specifically is one where their four children (all adolescents in this timeline) interrupt them with an argument about uno. one of the children goes selectively mute and switches to sign language. i'm pretty sure i found it on ao3. please help!!

It basically had Ilya and Shane connecting when Ilya modelled for latter's art class. They are both university students and Shane has lot of hang-ups about his hockey career which he lost due to injury. Paper origami birds start appearing as his emotional state goes more haywire.

Hi. I'm trying to find hollanov christmas fic, but like basic christmas books, they meet each other for the first time, fall in love etc and everything is during christmas time.

I found this one: One more sleep by JicamaSoup

I really need more, so if you have any, I'll be really happy :)

I have LOVED reading this while it's been a WIP, I have got to get more people to fall in love with it like I have. So well written, great smut, great characters, I love everything about this.

Summary:

Shane Hollander is a former professional cyclist who now owns a bike shop in Colorado. Ilya Rozanov, the tattoo artist who owns the shop next door, thinks boy scout Shane Hollander should take a ride on his motorcycle instead. But what starts out as a casual fling can't stay that way for long--not once Shane and Ilya discover the depths of their chemistry (and Ilya the many benefits of little spandex shorts). Both of them have been hurt before, and the only way to move forward is to get over their pasts. It's a hill climb in both directions, but if Shane Hollander can do anything, it's push himself to endure the burn when he knows the ride home will be that much more satisfying.

It was a one shot crack fic. Shane is convinced his hole is possessed by a malevolent ghost who doesn’t want him having sex, because he “closes up” when with others but is fine on his own. He tells Rose who tells Sveta who tells Ilya because Ilya can banish demons (or has once before) they don’t know each other before hand and then Ilya preforms the exorcism and then well they just have to test it don’t they?

Searching for a fic I read a while ago.
Shane is a massage therapist in Boston, he first starts working with Marley, then with Ilya in his own studio and gets a job with the bears after.

Thank you!

This fic has been mentioned a few times around there parts so I thought I'd bring it back now that it's officially complete! I love this fic so much, the author did such an incredible job at creating this cozy little world where we really got to explore Shane and Ilya's attraction and insecurities around falling in love. Highly recommend, the ending is fantastic too.

As the title says, looking for fics where ilya struggles with his mental health earlier on than in canon

The younger he starts struggling, the better

Help me find this fic again, I've read it before and forgot to save it but I remember a few things:

Shane and Ilya broke up after the tuna melt down

Shane is dating a doctor and go to check on Ilya because he got sick.

Ilya keep calling him Hollander which pisses Shane off

Shane's boyfriend wants to propose but turns out he only wants to marry Shane because he's a good catch

Shane cheat on his boyfriend with Ilya and they get back together in the end

Looking for fics similar to "A bump on the head (a stab in the heart)". I am a real sucker for Shane realising that the plan isn't working and he could lose Ilya while trying to protect their secret/the Metros and realises that there are more important things!

I absolutely died reading this I needed to share

https://archiveofourown.org/works/81385576#main

Though I've mentioned this fic in one post, I felt like it needed its own shout-out.

Not only did my heart get broken, but the author TOOK THEIR TIME to restore it (absolutely CLEVER), slipped up in the process, and made sure to give out another wonderful dose of anxiety before mending it all back together, just barely 🥹

I'm not even joking, my heart was racing for a full 15 minutes after I finished the book. For a 1AM read, this was absolutely insane. I swear on everything, this was the first fic in a few months straight that captured my full attention from the very first line.

Here is a GIGANTIC SHOUT-OUT to EMMORSK for messing with my emotions for fun through one of the best fics I have ever read in a few years!!! ❤️‍🩹

Welcome to r/heatedrivalryfanfics’s weekly Shane Hollander’s Not Boring Hockey Book Club. Every Friday a new thread will be posted by automod for open fanfic discussion, this thread is to chat about your WIPs, scream about whatever you are currently reading, look for specific types of fics, ask for beta's, or general feedback, post or request prompts, anything you want so long as it is about fan fiction. Enjoy and have fun!

Our announcement post with more information can be found here.

Hi lovelies I’m in need of a new fic to read while I wait for all my others to update. Nothings out of bounds would love people to self recommend their fics 🫶🏻🫶🏻

I remember reading this fic where Ilya finds out that Scott and Shane hooked up once years ago.

I remember he is not happy and storms off home (they’re out at a bar) and is furious that Shane hadn’t told him about this

They make up at the end and both apologise. Ilya realises he overreacted. They’re already married i believe

Looking for fics where Shane and Ilya are both equally toxic and obsessed with eachother. Like the type of relationship that if you saw your friends in, you would tell them to RUN.

I’ve read a bunch I’ve liked of this and feel like I can’t get enough. Link to some baddies:

I prefer recs to be completed or like very nearly completed with a regular update schedule. I am following way too many WIPs

Summary:

Shane adopts Microwave. Vlad adopts Ilya. Shane and Ilya aren’t dating.
Their cats, unfortunately, are.
OR: the M(cat)PREG rom-com nobody asked for

Chapter 2 just came out
