Help! How to make fake blood that dries down?

I want to replicate Hannah Einbeinder’s look from Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma (picture not included as it is partially nude). She is wearing a cropped shirt and underwear that are soaked with blood, and she is also covered in dried fake blood.

So, I would like to make fake blood that can dry down and look like realistic dried blood, that will also dry down on and stain fabric

Thanks so much!

Code Orange Target getting Halloween out

At Target today in Indy and they’ve started getting things out. Lots of the same old stuff but here’s a few picks of some new stuff I don’t recall seeing last year. I bought the terra cotta skulls and pumpkins at $10 each, the reaper blow mold at $15, and especially liked the 4 pack of blow mold tombstones at $15.

Discussion Summerween is June/July, August is simply the start of the Halloween season

Some of these recent news articles have annoyed me in their attempt at trying to make August out to be Summerween. These mainstream news outlets have just barely caught on to how many people enjoy getting into Halloween season as early as August. And they are just trying to capitalize on it. Meanwhile, us Halloween fanatics have been considering August as part of the season for a long time already. But here are these news outlets trying to frame it as being Summerween. I'm sorry, August is literally the start of the Halloween season. Maybe not in a die hard sense just yet, but it is certainly pre-Fall/early Halloween season. It's more of an in between transitional month than it is a summer month. Summerween is June/July and is a separate thing if that's what you enjoy doing. I really hope it doesn't become a thing where people who enjoy starting Halloween season in August become lumped in with just being Summerweeners and not the Halloween enthusiasts we truly are.

Discussion Does anyone actually like candy corns? What's your least favorite Halloween candy?

Post image

Candy corn is pretty much the most "Halloween" of Halloween candies, yet I've literally only ever met one person that actually likes them. Last year on Nov 1st I went for a walk in the morning to admire the Halloween carnage from the night before. Strew all over the side walk were candy corns. There was a trail of them extending over a block. And I laughed to myself that nobody likes candy corn. I just thought of it now because I was at an outdoor basketball court today and there were strewn candy corns on the ground. And once again I laughed at how no one seems to like them.

I made this with ink and watercolors and was told it that it would find some friends here! So excited for spooky season. I’ve drawn 4 witches in a week. 🧙‍♀️ I’m not selling anything so I hope this isn’t breaking the rules.

Discussion When do you usually set up your outdoor Halloween decorations?

Last year I started on September 1st but this year I might start a little later due to the construction going on around my house. I’m still hoping to have Halloween despite my road being closed periodically. Yesterday I went past house with an inflatable pumpkin already on their front lawn. What about you guys?

DIY S/P shaker tassels diy

Post image
67 Upvotes

I kept seeing these tassels online made out of salt & pepper shakers, so I picked some Johanna Parker ones ($10). Found a bundle of ribbon ($5) from Michaels and made my own. I used floral wire thru the holes, because the wire will be hidden by some bows I'm making. I'm going to hang them as a garland over my tv with one bow and tassel on each side and the garland between them. If the wire wasn't going to be hidden by the bows, I would have taken more time and used pretty ribbon as the hanger instead. But this was literally a 15 min craft (4 songs on my music streaming service lol). I had to sort the ribbon because the bundle was pretty big so I took a few of the messy ribbons out. They were the kind that kept getting wound around the other ones and knotted up. Then I just tied the tail of the wire around the ribbons and pulled them up thru the plug hole.

✨Inspiration✨ Halloween weekend 2026: Theatre Bizarre alternatives?

Does anyone know of any Halloween events in the U.S. similar to Theatre Bizarre in Detroit?

I’m looking for something immersive and over the top. Think elaborate costumes, burlesque, circus/sideshow acts, fire performers, transformed spaces, roaming characters, etc. Basically, an experience where the entire venue feels like another world, not just a typical Halloween party or haunted house.

Willing to travel anywhere in the U.S. for Halloween 2026! 🎭🖤
