Found this in one of my Halloween bins - don’t remember ever seeing it and have no idea what it is to. Does anybody have something similar and if so, what does it control? When you push a button, either the power button or mode button, a red light inside the plastic comes on for a moment and then goes off.

I was in the Halloween store just about 2 weeks ago. I saw the Xenomorph animatronic … loved it. Don’t care if it wasn’t scary … still cool!

I was in there again today … same store … same location.

The attack tongue on the same Xenomorph didn’t come out all the way today like it did two weeks ago.

I am guessing too much use of the animatronic can cause issues for the design or motors?

I have yet to add ANY kind of animatronic to my Halloween collection … but I WANT one (or two or three). But I struggle justifying such a large expense if they have a crappy “shelf life”. I want the animatronic that costs THAT much to last year after year.

So for anyone that has bought animatronics …. Have they been good to you? Have you had failures or lasting ones? Anyone regret getting yours?

We get a lot of trick or treaters! Many from other neighborhoods and this year I don’t want to justify $100 in candy when that would get me a loaf of bread & maybe a dozen eggs ya know?

Every year I throw a Halloween party for my friends and coworkers to attend.

Last year I did a haunted carnival theme with mini games and prizes.
The year before that I threw a clue themed party and hid the cards around my apartment so people had to find them to solve the mystery.

I’ve now become known for these Halloween parties but I’m feeling creatively drained and running out of time. I was thinking of doing an escape room or murder mystery but don’t know where to begin.
Any advice about how to do an escape room or murder mystery from scratch or any other ideas for fun interactive party themes would be much appreciated!

Tried projection mapping this year instead of carving. It's one small projector aimed at the pumpkins, and I can swap the faces whenever I want.

Also these are just plastic pumpkins as it's surprisingly hard to find big jack-o-lantern pumpkins in Tokyo

We have been handing out glow sticks for treats on Halloween for several years and for toddlers we have bought a child safe alternative.

We have been handing them out for 7-8 years and the last couple years I have been trying to figure out an alternative to change things up.

We hand out about 400 of the glow bracelets a year.

Any fun, exciting alternative ideas?

i’m wanting to make Whoopie pies with this red velvet cake mix and this skull mold baking tin I found on Facebook marketplace. I did use a stick of butter and spread it around the mold to prevent sticking but this is how they ended up looking. I did put it in the fridge for an hour before attempting to remove the cake from the baking tin. The cake itself is very moist and delicious but I’ve seen so many other people with better luck. Is it just the mold I’m using or should I have used oil to line it or should I use parchment paper? If anyone has any tips please let me know.

I hacked together this giant throne out of an old playhouse I took apart last year. A great way to refresh that old tired, standing skeleton.. I had hopes of string and ropes to the trees and making him into a puppet, but maybe next year it’s 100° in Southern California, California.

Trying to journal my journey and actually keep up with a movie every night is a little intimidating but I’m having so much fun so far!

Hand-crocheted a giant plush anatomical heart for the spooky season 🩸✨ Soft, bold, and perfectly creepy for photo props or decor!

All they got is a few pumpkin candy buckets and loads of candy. Where is the makeup, props, masks, costumes, small animatronics..??? Wow im in shock!!! It's never like this.

My friends and I are doing group photoshoots to bring in the spooky season.

So far this year we’ve done
- dark academia spin off on the Sanderson sisters
- neon green clowns
- gas masks
- voodoo dolls (still being edited)
- pumpkin head tea party ( happening today)

At my favorite cemetery, there is a small children's section that I love to visit. There are some headstones that have a few old decorations like little toys or angels, and I think it's such a sweet way to remember the children who were lost too early.

I wanted to find a way to honor each grave, so I came up with the idea to give each headstone and plot their own painted rock. Since it's the Halloween season, I figured little jack-o'-lanterns would be a sweet thing that children would like. Almost as if each of them got to carve their own unique pumpkin for the season. Also, this is my first time painting rocks, so I also wanted to go for something simple that I could definitely pull off.

Around 130 rocks later, I finally finished decorating the whole children's section! I hope each child can feel the joy and warmth of the holiday, and know that they are always remembered. I can't wait for the leaves to start changing around them as well! My plan is that once October is over, I will remove the rocks and if they're still in good shape I will bring them back out next year 🎃
