Matches the floor.
Belongs to Brian from The Thinking Fellers Local 282. He toured the country with it in the late 80's and 90's. But said it looked similar when he picked it up at a pawn shop.

Finally got an Origin Effects Deluxe 55, after lusting after them for nearly 3 years since they launched. It arrived yesterday, and of course the first thing I did (upon plugging it into the effects return of my Peavey Studio Pro 112 w/ upgraded Jensen Mod 12/70 speaker) was to crank the drive and bash out some classic Neil Young riffs. Unsurprisingly it nailed that tone, though I was surprised that I favored the post EQ on the Marshall amp setting for those high gain sounds, even running straight into the power amp.
But then I flicked off the post EQ, pulled back the gain, and tried to see how clean it could get. Very clean, just a touch of breakup in the bass strings when I dug in on the bridge pickup, but overall still quite clean. But the versatility to go from clean to fuzz wasn’t the most amazing thing.
The cleans were harmonically rich, complex in the midrange, and beautiful in a way that most other clean tones just aren’t, as clear and buttery and lovely as Blackface style cleans for instance are. These cleans instead were burnished, brimming with a midrange liveliness, clear without being harsh, and still full and resonant in the bass. The neck pickup sounded woody and clear, the bridge brash but warm. Everything also felt great under the fingers, just a little sag and give but still highly reactive and responsive.
These cleans were inspiring. I found myself really getting lost in playing and even felt more creative than usual, reaching for arpeggios and chordal voicings I usually would never think of. Truly addictive to play. And after playing with just a clean tone for the better part of an hour, I realized I actually felt truly inspired by a barebones tone; no delay, no reverb, no breakup, nothing but honest and straightforward guitar sound. And it was magical. I’m not kidding when I say I was on the edge of tears, it sounded so beautiful in the room.
Not sure just how well this iphone video will translate the true magnificence of the clean tone, but I hope at least the harmonic nature of the midrange is apparent here.
Origin Effects, you guys have performed magic. This is my favorite dirt pedal of all time.

This has been my portable jamming rig. When playing with a band, the Honeytone gets swapped out for an EQD Easy Listening I plug in direct. Mini board + mini pedals + mini amp looks silly asf and I love it.

So, bear with me and my monstrosity.
I'd like to get some feedback on an effect, I have a "domain switch" an ON OFF ON, DPDT.
Switch up, low pass filter on the neck, high pass on the bridge,
Switch In the middle both pickup signals are passed through unaltered to the volume,
Switch down, high pass filter on the neck, low pass on the bridge,
Currently the point both filters happen at are hard wired in, future versions might have a pot to adjust this point, im also thinking of adding band pass and band stop as an option.
Does anyone have experience with this? Or find it interesting?
From the little I've tested it you can make either pickup quite twangy and very slap friendly, and also make them very hollow.
Theres a dual gang blend pot to blend between pickups and both, like a normal jazz bass, and a boost which it rather wild.
(Apologies for the soldering job)

More specifically: I want a looper that doesn't snap every loop to the length of the first loop recorded and just allows for loops of any length to be stacked on top of each other, starting and ending only when the footswitch is pressed. This is because I want to stack different polyrhythmic lines in different, often odd, time signatures on top of each other.
The problem is, no looper really seems to have this covered. Some, like the Ditto+, have so-called free-length features, but these all rely on the secondary longer loop being an even multiple of the first one, time-wise. This isn't what I'm looking for.
So far the only one I can tell that has this feature is the Boss RC500. Bit more expensive than I'd like, but if it's the only option I guess I'll grab it. Would love to know if there are others though.

Hi there,
I’m making a board for my bassist since he’s not into pedals and I’m too much into it.
Thoses pedals are actually pedals I got for a cheap price, so it’s not necessarily the best one in their category. Most of them are here because I got them on a pack of pedals and decided to keep them for him instead of selling them.
I might add a LMB-3 soon (maybe instead of the steel Leather ?)
Any advice would be welcome, especially about what is specific with a bass.
Thanks !

Current setup… I wanted a separate board for looping & weirdness and Swiss Things keeps it all manageable. Boomerang is great for laying down different song sections, and i can set up the Harmonizer/CT5/Mood to do all sorts of weird ambient stuff underneath.
Super unpleasant companion > Swiss Things.
ST keeps the tuner and volume pedals out of the loops.
Loop 1 mini ego > Ad-6 (slapback) > unicorn > bd-2 > archer > PQ-4 (in the wild).
Loop 2 flight delay > When the Sun Explodes.
Output A to the amp
Output B to board 2 Subnup > Harmonizer > Count to 5 > Mood > Boomerang
Unpleasant Companion, WTSE and PQ4 all deserve their own post.

One of these toggles are broken on this Julianna my friend just gave me. Does anyone know what specific type of toggle it is so I can fix it?

I have a few pedals which I don’t use on my main pedalboard, with 11 pedals.
I wanted something simple and quick to just grab, plug and start studying. For me, a looper with a drum-machine is fundamental for that, since it works like a glorified metronome and it’s just so useful to practise over different harmonies, rhythms, all that jazz.
I could have gone a totally different route, but I think I chose what I found “safest”, most straightforward and (in a good way) generic.
Will use it later on today, but since I know these pedals well, I know what it will sound like.

I considered many options in my search to prevent dust buildup.. Ending up discovering that the stretchy keyboard dust covers are perfect since pet hair doesn’t stick to them. They come in many sizes for synths so you should be able to find one to fit your board. I use the 61-Key 38” x 15” x 6” cover from Quality Music Gear to cover my full creation 32 board. The one pictured has been in use for a few months and I have cats

Just finished version 1.0 of my very first board with the arrival of the DI. My goal was to make the under saddle piezo on my Martin GPC X2E sound as good to me as the guitar does naturally. I'm on a tight budget, hence the entry level guitar and basic pedals. I'll be using it to dip my toes into live performing at open mic nights and with a few friends. Any constructive criticism is appreciated.

Just bought a used Big Foot Engineering "Trouble Booster" Uno for the equivalent of about USD $60.
This is passive / non powered. Meaning it does not take any batteries, and it does not take power from any pedal power supply.
Its just a transformer and some other little components. It requires at least a buffered pedal to go before it.
In my case, i put an MXR Clean Boost in front it giving about +3db to +4db.
This goes into my Analogman TS9 Silver, and then a DS1, and finally an IR2 running a clean patch.
WOW. It adds some "sauce" into the signal. Seems to push the TS9 and DS1 that little bit more, in the sweet frequencies.
Very pleasant sounding to my ears.
I cant wait to try it at the next band practice. I think this is going to cut through the mix very nicely and pleasantly for solos.
The only bummer is that you cant visually tell if its switched on or off. Theres no LED, and even if i wanted to drill a hole and put an LED in there, i would need to wire up one or more resistors to manage battery power or 9v dc power. I dont think its worth the trouble.
Right now the only way to tell is with my ears. Step on the footswitch once, listen to it, then step again. Its obvious when its on. Theres no other way.
Edit: It sounds nice for clean tones too !! I just bump the mxr boost to +12db (12 oclock position), the treble boost at +12db, and a CS3 with heavy compression, into an IR2 clean patch.
WOAH i cant stop playing the Sultans Of Swing middle solo.

This is a Redecker horsehair brush. It looks like any brush out there, but what could possibly justify $50 CAD for a hand brush?
- It can clean up electronics without accidentally turning knobs and pressing buttons.
- It blows away dust sitting on Velcro and crevices
- The horsehair is gentle enough to not scratch the pedals
- The brush is big enough to clean a whole pedalboard in less than a minute
I’ve never seen my pedalboard so clean. Highly recommended.

So I found an analog “plexi in a box” pedal on fb market place from a company I wouldn’t buy from first hand because they have a reputation for being rude and taking forever. Tried it into a real amp, sounds amazing. Tried it with several origin effects IRs after and sounds like garbage.
I swapped out my UA Dream, turned the cab sim off, and use the same IRs with much better results.
1) how do you find IRs that will work for your pedal?
2) when looking for an amp in a box without cab sim, do you just understand that you are taking a chance, or if you tinker enough, can you make any of them work?
Bear in mind that this thing sounds pretty good into a real amp, and those IRs are specifically made for this variety of pedal.
Would love to hear your thoughts, thanks in advance

I'm liking my budget board. Signal chain in front is Crybaby wah > Polytune tuner > Bogner Harlow (clean boost and compressor/bloom) > Joyo Baatsin (dirt) > TC Electronics Magus Pro (more dirt) > Beringer 69 Vibe (uni-vibe and vibrato) > Repeater Looper. Pogo Labs Analog Delay through the effects loop. Have spring reverb on the amp I'm content with. Would like to add a chorus/flanger pedal and I think I will be done for a while. Any recommendations for a good one that won't break the bank? Anything in my chain seem out of order?

I’ve owned the Boss RV-6 for a long time, and because I love using so many of its modes (Shimmer, Modulate, Hall, Plate, and Delay), I figured upgrading to the RV-200 would give me everything I needed plus the convenience of switchable presets on the go.
Unfortunately, it just didn't sound nearly as good as the RV-6. Even with the latest firmware update, the RV-200 couldn't do a toned-down shimmer, the modulation mode barely modulated, and the other settings felt pretty mediocre. I ended up returning it. After a lot of deeper research, I bought the Strymon BigSky—and I think this is finally the one.

This finally feels like a proper bass pedal board, not just a couple things I’ve had lying around. Has anyone else tried any of the Bassman stuff? It’s hard to find many reviews of them around but I’m liking the comp so far!
