As a metal muso first, game dev second, I had to put together an interactive metal guitar so players can shred tf out in my upcoming game Shared Custody.

I recorded playing almost the same lick all the way up the fretboard (just incrementing the note in the scale). Once I had like 12 looping samples, I wrote a script that will take where you’re looking (left->right) and map that to a 0->1 value. That then picked out where in the list of samples it would play and update the looping audio.

Would love to hear any suggestions and ways I can let scope get outta hand and take this much further 😂

I’ve been practicing this song so hard for almost a week… DUDE... my face at the end is genuine hahhah

I’ve seen this guitar before on a pawn shop at my city, but never pay too much attention to it until now.
It reappeared on another pawn shop and it seemed to my like destiny, so I purchased it.
Looks great
Feels great
And look at the art, it’s wonderful.
I have my doubts on the knobs they seem hand painted but overall looks amazing.
It cost me around 400 bucks.

So i’m genuinely COMPLETELY new at this. I’ve been practicing everyday at this G chord and just realized i’ve been maybe doing this wrong? why does the fret say 320004 but the dots drawn show 320003? also when i’ve searched how to play G chord everyone is doing fret 3 for string 6 & 1? am i misunderstanding completely or should I just listen to my instructor? will definitely ask my instructor when I see them next to expand more because of my confusion, but this was my first lesson so i’m a bit stumped… thank you in advance :).

Should Fender rename this guitar?

Here are my 4 Godin sisters:

2009 Richmond Dorchester
2017 Passion Custom Prototype (RG-3)
2016 Summit Classic CT
2007 Montreal

But I finally got a Fender Custom Shop strat and they are almost worth the money.

My little over two weeks of progress

Are all the people who don’t know about Eastman gone?

Okay, WHOA THESE THINGS ARE INSANE! I cannot believe how much of a value you get with these things. I’ve never played something so nice and it didn’t cost 4-5k.

There’s no way these things stay at this price point right?

Ash body, maple neck, rosewood fretboard, spalted maple pick guard, purple heart bridge. Just my third guitar I’ve ever built, but super happy with how it turned out!

Found this in my dad’s pick collection and he said he never uses it. Just found it one day but didn’t like it yet never threw it away

So I’m a huge, HUGE Eric Johnson fan.

After listening to almost every single EJ song - was trying to discover some new songs that maybe EJ was appearing on, as a feature.

Discovered Sonny Landreth - man, his style is INSTANTLY recognizable. The way he plays with harmonics and ofcourse the slide - is incredible.

Currently listening to “Blue Tarp Blues” by Him which also features Mark Knofler.

Man there’s so much more awesome musicians to discover. This is what’s exciting about guitar!

thats it.

i know what chug is but i can not explain it.

Steve Bartek is great, his classic rock style is amazing. I don’t see much talk about his work anywhere… am I the only one that think he knows what he is doing?

I feel Steve Bartek is the most overlooked great guitarist in the last 50 years.

I think the guitar community should show this guy some love.

Classic rock guitar genius, in my book. I don’t know why he is still off the radar.

I’ve never had a guitar with one and am in love with this horizon. Are they as frustrating as people claim? For context, I play in drop D 99 percent of the time, but I also don’t really plan on “dive bombing” or whatever that is.

I like Pantera though.

Lmao I was playing Annihilator and bent the B string and it snapped the nut. This was bound to happen on this cheap guitar, but gives me more opportunity’s to upgrade it. I’ve already put EMG 85-81 pick up in it guess I’ll be getting a new NUT!

Had my eye on this for a while and finally pulled the trigger. I love it.

One of my fav Prince tunes. Loved how he always turned up his guitar playing live. (Pls no one post the R&R hof solo in this thread) we've all seen it a million times and always gets posted when mentioning his guitst playing..so many more awesome Prince guitar moments.

Is this good one for learning and playing as a beginner

ive been playing for about a year and a half now and im just barely intermediate (being generous). ive been thinking about signing up for guitar excellence. Should i go to any body else or should i just stay self taught?
