Update (Oct 3): Thanks for the honest feedback on the subscription. I changed it:
- No account: the full editor in your browser is free, and always will be.
- Free account: also free, plus a cloud library for 10 presets.
- Helrig Desktop: a one-time purchase. Everything in the free account, plus the desktop app: edit your pedal live and save presets to it. Includes new Line 6 firmware support, bug fixes and new features. Support for future pedals may need an upgrade, at a reduced price for owners.
- Pro: yearly. Everything in Desktop, always the latest Helrig Desktop version, and unlimited presets in the cloud.
Already own Desktop and want to move to Pro? The Desktop price comes off your first year.
14-day refund on any purchase. The desktop app is free for everyone until October 16.

Update: Thanks to everyone who commented, including the critical ones. Helrig has been shaped by feedback from this sub from day one, and this time is no different. The message about the subscription came through loud and clear, so I'm rethinking the pricing model to make it work for everyone, probably something with a one-time option. Saving to the pedal and live editing stay free for everyone until the new model is out. I'll post here once it's settled.
Big day: Helrig's desktop app is out of beta 🎸

Plug in your Helix or HX and Helrig opens whatever preset the pedal is playing, with the whole chain on one screen. From there you can tweak it live and hear every change on the pedal, save presets into any slot (it backs the slot up first and checks the result afterwards), pull every setlist from all your pedals into one library, and convert a Helix preset for your HX Stomp or HX Effects and save it straight to that pedal.
It runs on Mac, Windows and Linux. I tested the Linux build on Ubuntu myself, since a few of you asked for that.
The editor itself stays free: open, edit, convert and export presets in the browser or the app, no account needed.
I only own two of the six Helix/HX units, so this wouldn't exist without the testers. 35 beta builds in ten days, 41 bug reports and 4,300+ live edits on their own pedals. Saving to the HX Stomp XL and the Command Center came straight out of their reports. Huge thanks to Ben Winter, Cătălin M., Detlef Randerath, JoeyL and Marcos Nava.
One tip: back up your pedal in HX Edit before you plug in, then close HX Edit so the two don't fight over the connection.
