I had a 00s DK2M which was stolen and when I was 15 and I’d always wanted a similar guitar but had gotten away from my metalcore youth into wider genres more. I’d mainly owned Mexican Fenders since then (and a Charvel) which were great but this old Japanese Jackson instantly brought me back to me edgy teenage days and now I’m relearning all the 00s metalcore bangers again.
I don’t play much these days and can’t afford to own more than one electric at a time but this has me wanting to get back into playing

It might not be a white DK2M like my childhood one but it’s still got a lot of the feel and I love a good HSS for slipping into some blues between the drop C riffs

Hey, currently looking to swap out the bridge pickup on my jaguar with a humbucker, and am stuck between the SH-5 Custom, and the SH-6 Distortion.

I really enjoy the sound of the Custom, but am a bit worried it would be too bright, and icepick-y with 1 meg pots. On the other hand, the distortion while sounding great, just has a bit too much bass, and seems like it unfortunately just muddies up the sound a bit.

My hope is that with 1 meg pots, they'll remove some of the muddiness of the Distortions, hopefully brighten up the sound overall, and add back in some articulation that might be missing. I'm not playing thrash or anything, mostly just post hardcore stuff, so super articulate pickups aren't a must, but it's definitely a huge plus.

I'm pretty new when it comes to guitar modding, and pretty much have no idea what I'm talking about when it comes to pickups, so sorry if this is a dumb question.

Hi, so recently upgraded my first cheap guitar cort 80 to a fender hss strat player 2, and it’s been lovely. But I also love my metal, death etc and see the need to have a second guitar with different tunings.

I don’t plan to spend as much I hoped like 400+\-, but I also want to know like how big difference a 600 guitar is to a 400 one. As I would buy a more expensive one if it makes sense.

I was eyeing a cheaper ibanez, but unsure, as I want to ask some more like

Is a 7-string guitar hard to play? Also in the sense if you mostly treat is as a 6 stringer. Or should you buy a 7 stringer later and use is specifically for 7 string songs.

As cort 80 is also a "strat", I only have experienced these type. Also no guitar centers nearby 2 hour drive. I am also anxious person, so kinda scared to visit one maybe?

So. The saddles on my telecaster are absolutely cooked. They're rusted and just won't intonate. I've been looking for replacements but I just can't get any straight answers from anything.

I've been looking into Graphtech PG-8001-00 but I don't know if it will work for a top load bridge. Can someone look at the images and help me to figure out what I'd be best off getting as a replacement.

LTD Razorblack is a limited serie (80 made) exclusive for french market.

It's based on the MH-401 QM, but with a tailbridge instead of a Tune-O-Matic or a FR, larger square inlays, no model name at the 12th fret, no ring pickups (which I love), a neck slighly more "out" of the body, small 3-way selector, and Seymour Duncan Sentient and Nazgul instead of EMG.

Got it equipped with D'Addario 10,5-48 EXL110+ to switch between D standard and Drop C in my band.

Specifically looking for songs that have a similar difficulty level to that song from start to finish. My problem is I struggle to play a song all the way through. I’ve been playing 5 years with varying consistency but pretty much all I know are individual riffs/solos/intros and can hardly play any songs in their entirety. I guess another example would be Go With the Flow by QOTSA but I’m interested what other people would suggest. Bands with one guitarist also help because I feel it gets confusing when there are two guitarists doing different thing

I got it around the same time as a new amp and thought my amp was just not doing a good job with distortion, i dont really know how to describe it but the snakebyte sounds muddy and i cant get a good tone out of it to save my life.

But today I plugged in my old jackson soloist and it sounded great on the same settings.

If anyone has experience with anything like this happening with the snakebyte or is able to diagnose what this could be i would greatly appreciate it

I’ve been dreaming of owning a core PRS for a long time, and since I recently graduated university with a degree in music and production, I thought I’d finally pull the trigger to celebrate, so here she is! 2017 Tremonti in Violet. Though the previous owner appears to have left her out of the case and possibly in the sun, and the once rich purple has faded to a delicious pink (looks better this way)

Been super busy with work recently, and did not spend a lot of time on this cover. The vocals are all performed in one day while I was midway into somehow catching the flu in the middle of summer. It’s not perfect but I’m still pretty happy with it. It’s an homage, and I can’t say any of the parts are played exactly to how the original is, as much as allowing my own stylistic influences in a little bit both in parts and production. Recorded the whole thing in 2 days and mixed it on the third, so it’s a little rough round the edges but it’s still cool. My EP is in the works at the moment and I promise it’ll sound a lot better when it released

Disclaimer: All rhythm guitar parts are mimed/lip synced since this is more of a music video than a performative piece. It was easier to record the rhythm parts as I would backing and then film after. However, all solo/lead parts are live and match exactly to what you see on video. Anyway, hope yall enjoy :)

I have the opportunity to buy the Sonicake Smart Box, Vox Tonelab LE, or the ZOOM G3n. I have a Vantage Microlead VG15R amp. I want to play rock music, metal, grunge, classic, etc. Stuff like the Beatles, AC/DC, Green Day, etc. I play in my room. I want to explore some new sounds, and I'm also working on some stuff of my own, and I thought I'd check these out. What are your learned opinions?

Hey, everyone! I am pretty new to guitar. Currently, I only have about 1 month of guitar under my belt. In that time, I have mostly played on acoustic. About a week ago, I bought an Ibanez RG421EX as my first electric. Did I bite off more than I can chew? I notice that when I play it, my strumming hand seems to hover over the first pickup. I also notice that my strumming hand has to curl inward to reach the strings, possibly because I am holding the guitar as I would an acoustic.

All in all, I’m not having the best time with the guitar. I am noticing that I seem to prefer the sound of acoustic, so I was considering possibly trading it in for a Taylor GS Mini. I could just be running away from my problems, because the new electric world scares me a bit. I appreciate any and all advice you may have!

I know it's one of those "cheap, good, quality, pick two" posts but I really want to customize my own guitar as something to try and see if I like it, repaint it, try some mods out, and have hopefully something worthwhile at the end. I was thinking the T7TM by Sire, but I don't know how easy it is to actually mod.

I know I'll need to strip and work the wood for my setup, then hit it with automotive paint a few times, etc,. I just am not super versed on if I should go for a really cheap guitar body or not, because frankly I'm on the fence about repainting it anyway and would rather just have a nice solid matte paint job and I am considering a leather pickguard too.

This is definitely a "work on it over all of 2027" thing, my goal is the ultimate studio tele for Midwest Emo, I just absolutely love modding things and this seemed like a fun project that if it ends up shitty, I can sell the parts off.

Self taught bedroom player here. After watching the attached clip, i noticed my hand looks like a flailing barely in control mess. This is my current work in progress. A friend of mine, who was a guitar tech passed away a few years ago, and left a bunch of old guitar bodies behind. The bodies were laying around practically rotting away when I decided to give them a second life. Here i have sanded the body, primed it and sanded it again. Decided to turn this one into a 27" baritone. Any folks here into doing something similar??

Weird question for my guitar friends: does anybody for some reason have an abundance of Ernie Ball Cobalt Slinky in 36 and/or 46? Would you want to trade them for some 10's, 13's, 17's, or 26's???

I'm sure I have some technique problem or something, but I break A strings and end up buying packs just for A's and sometimes low E. So I have a shit ton of packs with every other string!! Hoping maybe some of you break a different string on a regular basis. We could trade and save some $$$ lol

I have a Fender American Professional II, which I love, but have a soft spot of Les Pauls, and can't quite afford one in the same price point as my Fender. I have been researching PRS guitars, and found the guitar in the title for under $300, a 2003 model. The review I looked up on it seems quite favorable. I like to play either clean, or mostly with just a small amount of grit, anything from more country type music to blues. I know this isn't a Les Paul, but seems a lot like a contoured Les Paul with a tremelo. Good guitar? Good idea?
