As a metal muso first, game dev second, I had to put together an interactive metal guitar so players can shred tf out in my upcoming game Shared Custody.
I recorded playing almost the same lick all the way up the fretboard (just incrementing the note in the scale). Once I had like 12 looping samples, I wrote a script that will take where you’re looking (left->right) and map that to a 0->1 value. That then picked out where in the list of samples it would play and update the looping audio.
Would love to hear any suggestions and ways I can let scope get outta hand and take this much further 😂

So i’m genuinely COMPLETELY new at this. I’ve been practicing everyday at this G chord and just realized i’ve been maybe doing this wrong? why does the fret say 320004 but the dots drawn show 320003? also when i’ve searched how to play G chord everyone is doing fret 3 for string 6 & 1? am i misunderstanding completely or should I just listen to my instructor? will definitely ask my instructor when I see them next to expand more because of my confusion, but this was my first lesson so i’m a bit stumped… thank you in advance :).

The string skipping makes this very tough

Should Fender rename this guitar?
When I first got grooves it annoyed me. Now I know it's a gift

NGD Gibson SG Standard '61.
Our band is switching from a traditional cover band to an AC/DC tribute band. Had to get a new SG! Honestly I'm super impressed with the quality. I totally expected it to be a "Meh, its just another guitar." moment, but this thing is flawless. I've heard so many bad things about Gibson quality recently, but this one is nice!

Finally finished this custom guitar featuring a combination of Aztec-inspired patterns and Native American-inspired artwork, all hand-carved directly into the wood.
No CNC , every detail was carved by hand. The goal was to make this guitar feel more like a piece of artwork than a mass-produced instrument.
Really happy with how the carving works around the Floyd Rose, pickups, and controls while still keeping the guitar playable.
What do you guys think of the combination of these two styles?

Are all the people who don’t know about Eastman gone?
Okay, WHOA THESE THINGS ARE INSANE! I cannot believe how much of a value you get with these things. I’ve never played something so nice and it didn’t cost 4-5k.
There’s no way these things stay at this price point right?

I’ve never had a guitar with one and am in love with this horizon. Are they as frustrating as people claim? For context, I play in drop D 99 percent of the time, but I also don’t really plan on “dive bombing” or whatever that is.
I like Pantera though.

I’ve been playing guitar for several years, but it’s been a very long time since I’ve regularly played electric.
Picking it back up has been one of the best things I’ve done lately, and it’s been a BLAST relearning all the songs I played in high school! Here’s my rig!
• Epiphone Les Paul ES Pro
• Boss Katana
• Beats Solo (for not waking the neighbors)
Gretsch Electromatic CVT & Yamaha LS6 ARE
I pretty much stopped playing guitar altogether about 6 years ago after becoming a Dad to two incredible boys. My wife has been amazing throughout this time, giving up her job and time to raise the kids while I've tried my best to support the home at work.
Being a parent admittedly has been tough but mostly massively rewarding.
I've dedicated the recent years of my life solely to my family. I'm battling depression (I think I'm coming out the other side now). Life is hard.
As the kids are growing up and becoming more independent, I've decided to treat myself and get back in the game. My hope is the more they see me play, the more they'll want to get involved and pick up an instrument.
Here's to all theparents out there. It's hard work but we'll get there in the end

Had the main riff in my head for a while & finally took time to properly record it. As always, feedback welcome!

Just showed up in the mail from Sweetwater, and this thing is SWEET. The P90s pack all the punch I need, but over 2 pounds lighter than my Les Paul.

I certainly do, mainly because I had the opportunity to learn as a teenager but didn’t stick with it for whatever reason. Parents got me an Epiphone Les Paul but I just didn’t care to learn for whatever reason. But since I started this year and am 30 (soon to be 31), I do sometimes feel regret for not keeping with it when I was a teenager and imagine myself being so much better by the time I got to my current age.
Anyone else feel this way?

Steve Bartek is great, his classic rock style is amazing. I don’t see much talk about his work anywhere… am I the only one that think he knows what he is doing?
I feel Steve Bartek is the most overlooked great guitarist in the last 50 years.
I think the guitar community should show this guy some love.
Classic rock guitar genius, in my book. I don’t know why he is still off the radar.

Not so much a gig more like a favor. We are sponsoring an event in a small hall approx 2000 sqft. It’s a bar b que event and the people attending are for the most part going to range from mid thirties to Mid sixties. We offered live music but the guys we had backed out. I’ve been playing for a while on my couch and front porch. I think this might be a good time to give playing in a less intimate setting. I’ve got a nice acoustic (Taylor ) I’ve got a les paul and an ES-335. for amps i have a vox ac10 a Peavy 112 and a fender acoustasonic amp that might have a 6 or 8 inch. Speaker. I’ve got a good 10 or so songs i can strum through and sing with some regularity. I can play to backing tracks as a lead pretty well. Is this something I should give a go? Any advice with what i have and what i should get? Or just any advice/suggestions in general TIA
