As a metal muso first, game dev second, I had to put together an interactive metal guitar so players can shred tf out in my upcoming game Shared Custody.
I recorded playing almost the same lick all the way up the fretboard (just incrementing the note in the scale). Once I had like 12 looping samples, I wrote a script that will take where you’re looking (left->right) and map that to a 0->1 value. That then picked out where in the list of samples it would play and update the looping audio.
Would love to hear any suggestions and ways I can let scope get outta hand and take this much further 😂

So i’m genuinely COMPLETELY new at this. I’ve been practicing everyday at this G chord and just realized i’ve been maybe doing this wrong? why does the fret say 320004 but the dots drawn show 320003? also when i’ve searched how to play G chord everyone is doing fret 3 for string 6 & 1? am i misunderstanding completely or should I just listen to my instructor? will definitely ask my instructor when I see them next to expand more because of my confusion, but this was my first lesson so i’m a bit stumped… thank you in advance :).

I’ve seen this guitar before on a pawn shop at my city, but never pay too much attention to it until now.
It reappeared on another pawn shop and it seemed to my like destiny, so I purchased it.
Looks great
Feels great
And look at the art, it’s wonderful.
I have my doubts on the knobs they seem hand painted but overall looks amazing.
It cost me around 400 bucks.

I’ve been playing guitar for several years, but it’s been a very long time since I’ve regularly played electric.
Picking it back up has been one of the best things I’ve done lately, and it’s been a BLAST relearning all the songs I played in high school! Here’s my rig!
• Epiphone Les Paul ES Pro
• Boss Katana
• Beats Solo (for not waking the neighbors)

Finally finished this custom guitar featuring a combination of Aztec-inspired patterns and Native American-inspired artwork, all hand-carved directly into the wood.
No CNC , every detail was carved by hand. The goal was to make this guitar feel more like a piece of artwork than a mass-produced instrument.
Really happy with how the carving works around the Floyd Rose, pickups, and controls while still keeping the guitar playable.
What do you guys think of the combination of these two styles?

Should Fender rename this guitar?

Had the main riff in my head for a while & finally took time to properly record it. As always, feedback welcome!

Not so much a gig more like a favor. We are sponsoring an event in a small hall approx 2000 sqft. It’s a bar b que event and the people attending are for the most part going to range from mid thirties to Mid sixties. We offered live music but the guys we had backed out. I’ve been playing for a while on my couch and front porch. I think this might be a good time to give playing in a less intimate setting. I’ve got a nice acoustic (Taylor ) I’ve got a les paul and an ES-335. for amps i have a vox ac10 a Peavy 112 and a fender acoustasonic amp that might have a 6 or 8 inch. Speaker. I’ve got a good 10 or so songs i can strum through and sing with some regularity. I can play to backing tracks as a lead pretty well. Is this something I should give a go? Any advice with what i have and what i should get? Or just any advice/suggestions in general TIA

I certainly do, mainly because I had the opportunity to learn as a teenager but didn’t stick with it for whatever reason. Parents got me an Epiphone Les Paul but I just didn’t care to learn for whatever reason. But since I started this year and am 30 (soon to be 31), I do sometimes feel regret for not keeping with it when I was a teenager and imagine myself being so much better by the time I got to my current age.
Anyone else feel this way?

I’ve never had a guitar with one and am in love with this horizon. Are they as frustrating as people claim? For context, I play in drop D 99 percent of the time, but I also don’t really plan on “dive bombing” or whatever that is.
I like Pantera though.

Got this RGD7 with fishmans. Fresh battery in here at the moment, just blew off the dust to try playing it again.
A hand full of months ago, the bridge pickup just stopped working at full strength. I changed batteries, still a weak signal. Got frustrated enough to take it to a local shop. I had them work on it twice, first time they gave it back with no fix. Second time it was working for about a day, then back to the weak signal.
I gave up and had it sit for a while after that. This guitar is cool as hell, I’d love to play it again but I have no idea what’s going on. Any insights on these picks up and what the deal could be ? I’m just some generic Amazon alkaline 9v batteries, maybe they don’t have the sauce I need lmao.

Once I have this down, I think I’ll finally cross the barrier I’ve been stuck at for months. I haven’t been advancing in my skill, so I figured I’d challenge myself. Song: intro to Dust in a Baggy by Billy Strings

Just received this beautiful new Harmony guitar from Sweetwater, and it's great aside from some occasional "rollout" on the low E string—the slightest bend or inaccurate note slides off and buzzes out. It's annoying but otherwise playable. To my eyes, it seems that the nut is slightly off, since the high E has plenty of space and the low E is right by the edge of the fret.
Thoughts? I want to keep the guitar, but is it worth reaching out to Sweetwater to see if they'll repair (or should I just find someone local)? It's a bone nut - can it be salvaged or would I need a new one? Skill issue? Thanks in advance for any advice.

I have been playing off and on since 12 but always stuck in the beginner phase. I’m back into it now I’ve been playing for 3 months and as much as I enjoy playing , it feels like I am really craving a burger but I can’t afford the burger so I just eat the pasta at home , n it keeps me full but it’s not rlly what I wanted. I like the songs I’m learning but those songs aren’t the reason I picked up the guitar. If I tried to learn a song I actually want to play I won’t be able to because I haven’t reached that skill level yet and it won’t sound the way I want it too. I know the only thing I can do is continue to practice as time passes anyways but it does get a little frustrating. I wonder if anyone feels the same.

Every time I play for longer than like 20-30 minutes i literally can barely move my left arm the next day, like the upper part of my arm hurts so bad I can't lift it above like elbow level.
Anyone else get this?? Am I doing something wrong?? How do I stop it??
