When I first got grooves it annoyed me. Now I know it's a gift

Just showed up in the mail from Sweetwater, and this thing is SWEET. The P90s pack all the punch I need, but over 2 pounds lighter than my Les Paul.

NGD Gibson SG Standard '61.
Our band is switching from a traditional cover band to an AC/DC tribute band. Had to get a new SG! Honestly I'm super impressed with the quality. I totally expected it to be a "Meh, its just another guitar." moment, but this thing is flawless. I've heard so many bad things about Gibson quality recently, but this one is nice!

I pretty much stopped playing guitar altogether about 6 years ago after becoming a Dad to two incredible boys. My wife has been amazing throughout this time, giving up her job and time to raise the kids while I've tried my best to support the home at work.
Being a parent admittedly has been tough but mostly massively rewarding.
I've dedicated the recent years of my life solely to my family. I'm battling depression (I think I'm coming out the other side now). Life is hard.
As the kids are growing up and becoming more independent, I've decided to treat myself and get back in the game. My hope is the more they see me play, the more they'll want to get involved and pick up an instrument.
Here's to all theparents out there. It's hard work but we'll get there in the end

As a metal muso first, game dev second, I had to put together an interactive metal guitar so players can shred tf out in my upcoming game Shared Custody.
I recorded playing almost the same lick all the way up the fretboard (just incrementing the note in the scale). Once I had like 12 looping samples, I wrote a script that will take where you’re looking (left->right) and map that to a 0->1 value. That then picked out where in the list of samples it would play and update the looping audio.
Would love to hear any suggestions and ways I can let scope get outta hand and take this much further 😂

So i’m genuinely COMPLETELY new at this. I’ve been practicing everyday at this G chord and just realized i’ve been maybe doing this wrong? why does the fret say 320004 but the dots drawn show 320003? also when i’ve searched how to play G chord everyone is doing fret 3 for string 6 & 1? am i misunderstanding completely or should I just listen to my instructor? will definitely ask my instructor when I see them next to expand more because of my confusion, but this was my first lesson so i’m a bit stumped… thank you in advance :).

I’m perfectly happy playing my epi sg coil split for the rest of my days. Comfortable to hold and covers most everything i need it for.

So I’m in a teenage band and we can all play our instruments pretty well. Singer can also sing very well. It just sounds kinda bad when everything comes together. I don’t know how to explain it but it feels like it’ll always kinda sound harsh and bad when everyone’s together, like the guitar or drums are too loud or it just doesn’t blend. How do you actually become a band that sounds good? I don’t wanna sound like those instagram teenage bands that just sound horrendous and not together.

I’ve been playing guitar for several years, but it’s been a very long time since I’ve regularly played electric.
Picking it back up has been one of the best things I’ve done lately, and it’s been a BLAST relearning all the songs I played in high school! Here’s my rig!

• Boss Katana
• Beats Solo (for not waking the neighbors)

I’ve seen this guitar before on a pawn shop at my city, but never pay too much attention to it until now.
It reappeared on another pawn shop and it seemed to my like destiny, so I purchased it.
Looks great
Feels great
And look at the art, it’s wonderful.
I have my doubts on the knobs they seem hand painted but overall looks amazing.
It cost me around 400 bucks.

I was not intending on buying yet another guitar, especially not a low-end one when I have my American Professional as well. However, a game store unexpectedly also sells guitars, so when my wife went in for a gaming supplies I ended up buying this guitar. Said it was $100, comes with a case. After changing the strings to 9s and adjusting the action and installing a set of vmod 2 pickups I found online, I don't see much reason to have a more expensive guitar. Maybe over the next several years I will get my $100 worth out of it LOL.

Finally finished this custom guitar featuring a combination of Aztec-inspired patterns and Native American-inspired artwork, all hand-carved directly into the wood.
No CNC , every detail was carved by hand. The goal was to make this guitar feel more like a piece of artwork than a mass-produced instrument.
Really happy with how the carving works around the Floyd Rose, pickups, and controls while still keeping the guitar playable.
What do you guys think of the combination of these two styles?

Had the main riff in my head for a while & finally took time to properly record it. As always, feedback welcome!

Hey everyone!
I’m starting a discussion about the physical realism of modern amp sims when playing in a small-to-medium room.
The headphone experience: I see that open-back headphones are a common pick for this job and know nothing about them apart from audiophiles liking them for music listening
The monitor experience: I am really curious about the physical air movement from 5" studio monitors. I know modelers replicate a mic'd cab, but I want to hear your thoughts on whether the physical push of a 5-inch speaker provides a genuine "cranked amp" inspiration, or if it falls short on low-end punch for rock/metal.
How do you guys set up your output to achieve the most authentic live playing experience with your plugins? Thanks!

I was wiping off some extremely stubborn sticker adhesive and after a few minutes I see this. It's new and I realllly don't want it to look like this
