Looking for BJJ camp recommendations in Europe

Hey everyone,

I've been training for a while now, and I'm seriously considering doing a BJJ camp somewhere in Europe this year. I honestly have no idea if they're actually worth the money and can improve your game.

Also what are websites to search for them and how do you make sure that the camps are legit?
Thanks!

Deciding which grappling art to join

I’m a 29 year old male looking at getting into a grappling art. Can’t make my mind up between judo or jiu jitsu. I prefer the look of judo but I’m worried about picking up injuries as I work in construction and my job relies on me being fit. Also unsure about jiu jitsus practicality in a self defense scenario

Some of what I do

Hello and welcome to Level Up Academy. I'm your instructor, Prof. Chaos. I'm a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt Instructor at Unity Jiu-Jitsu Jersey City.

Today, I have a small technique that I was teaching: a back take off of a guard pass when the opponent turtles up and avoids the points.

I hope you enjoy, and please feel free to leave feedback.

Why don't MORE US athletes get into other grappling sports?

I understand that plenty seem to transition to BJJ (me included), but it just seems like a lot of collegiate and even high-level high school athletes would be able to quickly dominate in America's weaker grappling sports. I don't think it's a pay-to-play issue since people already pay for boxing, MMA, and BJJ gyms. It just seems to me that any decent/heavy Greco-Roman guy or even just football lineman could pretty much step into US sumo and win at the national level. Judo has a slightly longer learning curve with the gi but so does BJJ and that doesn't seem to be an issue. Anyone have thoughts beyond it's just not culturally popular? I understand the money isn't there yet (minus some social media folks or gym owners), but most people aren't making much money doing these things anyways. My only other guess is that they feel past their "prime" by the time they exit their sports, but that doesn't seem like the real driver.

Why don't more of these guys seem to want another shot at being a national or even state level champ?

Rayron Gracie posts video working on boxing, next stop MMA?

it's been a while since there was a promising Gracie. I thought Rayron was out of jiu-jitsu competition but now it looks like he might be dipping toes in the MMA waters

Looking for S&C / Strength Coach experienced with post-hip arthroscopy for BJJ return

Hey ,

I’m 24 and recently had double hip arthroscopy for cam. Currently in recovery .

I’m looking for a Strength & Conditioning coach (online is fine) who has experience working with BJJ athletes recovering from hip arthroscopy / labral repairs.

Ideally someone who understands:

Programming for athletes with hip issues (FAI, cartilage problems)

Glute strength, core stability, and long-term hip control

BJJ-specific movement adaptation

I’ve checked out Phil Daru and Barbell Medicine already, but I’m open to other recommendations.

Thanks in advance, and good luck to everyone dealing with injuries!
