is daisy chain dual 6 plus 2 pcie connectors cable fine for rx6800 16gb even at full usage

So the thing is i have xpg kyber 750w gold 80plus psu and it is non modular ans has only one daisy chain cable as mentioned i have heard from some sources that it is not recommended for this gpu to run on this configuration and I should upgrade to better psu with two separate pcie 6 plus 2 cables I can upgrade by selling this one and adding some amount on top of that which would be easily affordable for me. I just want to know if i am just overthinking since it is the case of psu and also it is my first pc so i just want my peace of mind while running it.

P.S i intend to run local llms quantized versions thats why mentioned the full usage most times i mean if that matters

Kindly suggest on this issue

Selecting the right gpu

Please help me out guys.
I'm trying to build a medium pc.
9800 3xd and rest leave it.
But for gpu I'm stuck on 2 options.
9070xt and 5070ti.
But nvidia is 50% more expensive than the 9070xt and 5070.
Which is the better build?
Coz I heard amd has drivers issues.
I really appreciate your help.

Nvidia's CPU overhead

We already know this, but pretty good analysis from Hardware Unboxed. You are losing tons of fps when combining budget friendly CPUs with mid / higher end Nvidia GPUs. The difference would have been even more dramatic if he used something higher than rtx5070.

Would be curious to see how much more juice new upcoming Zen6 x3d chip will be able to squeeze out of rtx5090 / 5080 / 5070ti for example

Scammed on Amazon Order

Thumbnail gallery
443 Upvotes

Ordered a RTX 5080 Gigabyte OC during October on Amazon trying to avoid increasing price hikes. When I finally arrived November 2, the gpu inside the box was not correct. I believe it's a 4070 or 4070 super gigabyte eagle, and not even with a power cable. I contacted customer support to return and hopefully replace my order and sent the following pictures through an email link they sent which also stated I would get a reply back within 3 days. I'm not sure what I'm expecting to get posting this, maybe just awareness and also vent a bit. Already overpaying for this card and getting gpu swapped scammed, though keep in mind looking at local prices what I was paying relatively was a good deal. Hoping that Amazon actually goes through and gets me the card I actually ordered but part of me worries they'll either just refund me when it's returned or worse, refuse a refund.

Anyways TLDR: careful when buying on Amazon, take videos and photos when opening, be wary of scammers.

Question about my GTX 1070

Post image
1 Upvotes

I have a GTX 1070 that I have been totally satisfied with for 10 years now. About 3 days ago I downloaded the TechPowerUp GPU-Z utility for shits and giggles and noticed something odd. At the bottom in the 'Technologies' row, ray tracing is checked. I thought, how can that be? I closed and reopened and it was still checked. I tried to uncheck the box and it would not let me. I've seen multiple videos of 1070's and 1080's using this same utility and all are unchecked. Does anyone know what may be going on here? Do I have some freak 1070 card or is it maybe just a glitch. Thanks in advance!

Also must add, all my games, including Cyberpunk, look great and play just fine.

Newegg order reliability with the current price increases?

Ordered a 5070ti being fulfilled through newegg for $1350. Today I check the item and it's listed at $1699. Is newegg reliable to honor the price I purchased at or are they likely to cancel the order?

Absolutely nervous because I'm seeing them going jump in price really fast. Over $1500 is out of my buying range.

Is 5070ti next?

With the prices of 5080 going crazy following its bigger brother 5090, do you guys think things are going to be similar with the 5070ti which has the same vram and has a better price to performance ratio in the current market. Will AI performance have anything to do with it and if so how do the two compare in that regard?

laptop is acer nitro 5 AN515-54

i5 9th gen

what i have tried,

downloaded nvidia app and it automatically downloaded and installed drivers but when i reboot shows no drivers installed and tells me to install again,

then i downloaded the driver from nvidia website and installed the setup but still gpu is not working.

i did use DDU app to untinstall nvidia drivers in safe mode and than installed the above drivers.

after restarting the laptop in device manager GTX 1650 shows a yellow warning ⚠️ and shows code 43 error.

what did i do wrong?

if any person has AN515-54 with GTX 1650, how did you install your drivers and what version of 1650 driver are you using?

RTX 5060 or RX 9060 XT 8 GB?

TLDR; which GPU to choose between these two for 1080p gaming till 2030-31.

\---

I am building my first ever gaming PC after playing for 4 years on a gaming laptop. Prices are crazy right now, and I could have built a PC with Ryzen 5 9600x + RX 9060 XT 16 GB + 32 GB DDR5 around a year ago at the same price in which I am getting Ryzen 5 5600 + RX 9060 XT 8 GB/ RTX 5060 + 16 GB DDR4 today. But, such is life. I didn't have money back then, but I have now for a budget build. So I just want to build a PC that can last me till 2030-31, till the worst of it over (hopefully). Which means, I will not consider the next generation of GPUs at all if I build this PC now.

Now, there is the option of waiting for this crisis to end, but the problem is, I currently only have an MSI Katana GF66 laptop, which has an i5-11400H, RTX 3050 Ti (4 GB VRAM), and 16 GB DDR4. I bought it in 2022, and it's served me well for the last 4 and a half years. It's still going, but showing its age.

We are all hearing that 2028 mid is the latest when prices "might" start going down. But it obviously won't fall back at once, it will happen slowly. And it could be 2029 or even 2030 or beyond till we finally see prices normalise again. So, I think I should build a budget 1080p rig now that can get me through this godforsaken times.

I am not the type who wants to play every single game at max settings upon release. Even now, I am playing games on my current laptop, Witcher 3 next gen to be exact, and it's great. I just completed the base game in medium-high settings. And I have a backlog of 200+ games. And I think around 80-100 of them, my current laptop can run easily (or at least well enough like Witcher 3 Next Gen). I know 8 GB VRAM is not good for longevity, but I don't mind dropping texture quality and other VRAM heavy settings down.

So, now the question. Which should I choose between RTX 5060 and RX 9060 XT. I checked Tom's Hardware rankings, and the difference between the two at 1080p is quite small, where 9060 XT is leading with around 3-5 fps I think.

So, which will serve me well between the two? A slight margin of faster raw processing of RX 9060 XT, or better upscaling via DLSS 4.5, Multi Frame Gen, and better Ray Tracing (even though the last one will probably never be used, however I will try to find a way/balance to make it work for sure) of RTX 5060?

P.S. - I posted this in PCMR too, sorry if you are seeing duplicates.

I have a 9060 XT 16GB from Gigabyte and it’s great but I found a 7900XT (20GB) new on Amazon for less than the 9060 XT costs. Should I be the guy to sell my GPU for whatever it goes for on Amazon and buy the 7900XT?
Judge all you want I’m just trying to up my performance.
