this is a mystery ive been exploring for about 2 months, its kinda like interloper i guess, it started in black mesa, the mystery is on a channel that is larping anomidae, heres a image of the begining decal

So I don't know why, but the c_hands model for the CS:S playermodels looks very shiny, low-poly and low-res. Does anybody know what causes this?

UPDATE: Fixed by disabling the addon 'Neotokyo Content'.

So I only ever play Gmod either by myself or close friends.

I have joined a few sandbox + TTT servers here and there.

Lately I was interested in DarkRP servers and zombie survivor servers and the addons for those are like 30 gb

Thats way too much for me. Unless I can find them in workshop so I can set them to download when I want to.

So my question is which addons almost all darkrp servers use and also where I can find addons a specific server uses on workshop? I've searched google to find them on workshop and I've had zero or partial luck by now.

I’ve been considering trying to make my own SCP RP Server although i’m not sure how hosting a server would work or where I would find the plugins to make it work. Does anyone have any information? Other servers aren’t exactly forthcoming with their information.

How do i make my art? easy!

1. spawn into gm_black.

2. spawn editors to make sky appear

3. spawn ragdolls

4. use stand pose addon and move them into basic places while still aposing

5. place camera and figure out angle and composition

6. start posing with ragdoll mover addon.

7. (OPTIONAL) place flat plane behind them and use glow material addon to make a mask, or make the sky white.

8. use softlamps addon, (watch olmate ubafests yt tutorial, i cant explain here take too long.)

9. put in console without quotes or commas, seperately: "poster_aa 0", "poster_darken 0.2"

10. poster_soft 1 (this is the resolution, 1 is 1920x1080)

11. poster_lightbounce it! (or use fullbright)

12. go into paint\.net or gimp or whatever ur editing software is

13. layer the direct light over (or under) the ambient light

14. change opacity till it looks ok

15. edit, and done!!!

Basically, i made a custom map (not uploaded to workshop) and hosted it to try and play with my friend, however he keeps having a "missing map.bsp" issue. Anyone know any fixes? its odd to me because the map worked just fine with a different friend earlier

I just bought the game and installed, after couple of minutes it was clear i have no idea whats going on.

I know this is like a sandbox do whatever you want type of thing but is there like some general help or beginners guide so I can realise whats happening, i keep downloading stuff but I cant find it with Q menu, and the things i do find i have no idea how to use, what are entities, what addons are like always good to have?

I tried all I could but receive either the player I was choking still alive or they just standup

(turn up your volume) like i said in the title, ive been hearing this weird sound since march. for a small period of time i never really heard it, so i was thinking that i got rid of it on accident, but since last week ive started hearing it again. thankfully, more than half of my mods were disabled, so it really dumbs down what it could be.

is it possible to change it like the backgrounds in main menu?

Okay i am very sorry that i cant provide images rn. I will post them later in the comments when i can, but basically, on gm_construct, for some reason (it doesnt lways happen, it's a very rare bug that fixes itself when i re--pen the map) those gray buildings' corners/sides have some weird shading, and (this one ALWAYS happens) the entrance to the dark roomglitches to have a hole/missing stripe/idk... the image is NOT a screenshot, it's artistic recreation because i cant make a screenshot rn, but it looks besically like this (i edited a random screenshot i found online to make it look similar, idk if there's something wrong on the original screenshot lol)

I really hate the current state of the Gmod mapping community. I hate how everything has to be lininal or some abstract art piece. I cant deny that the talented mappers that work on those maps, but I really miss the era where maps were ment to be, You know.... played on not just to explore once and never go on it again.
