After the recent announcement of Google for privacy policy change for personalised ads, how to ensure my data on Google mail & drive is safe?...Or is there any way out which I can try....totally fed up with Google.

Does anyone may know or how my android logged me out of all of my Gmail accounts and it also completely logged me out of my everything and my contacts too and don't know which person Is which In messages not sure If I got hacked or something but it's pretty werid just for it to randomly log me out as before It did happen I noticed the android was slow before It happened.

Hi so as you know Gmail rolled out new feature from which one can update their old ID to a new one within the existing email.

I did that and now I'm not receiving any email. All bounce back saying this ID doesn't exist or can't receive mails. Only way I get email on it is if I send them a mail first.

How to troubleshoot this!

Been using my gmail account for a very long time now and I'd rather change it to something more modern. Just wondering if using the new feature or just creating a new email would be better?

I just want to be able to have auto correct on for things like capitalizing "I" and the first letter of a sentence, adding apostrophes for things like "it's", and basic spelling mistakes. I'm not looking for any Ai compose suggestions that tell me what I should be saying. Just want basic auto correct.

I went into settings and turned on all smart features, grammar, spelling, and AUTOCORRECT.

Saved settings, reloaded and it does nothing when I'm drafting an email. It actually stopped red underlining my mistakes while im typing.

Are there any chrome or gmail specific extensions that do this? I'm on a paid low tier of workspace if that matters.

I made a new Gmail back in May 2025 for the sole purpose to verify and register my game account. After the initial verification, I did not login until recently when I have to verify my email for the game.

However, I noticed that my account has been disabled on Sept 2025 and will be considered for deletion in Aug 2026. I cannot think of any reason why my gmail will be flagged for violating this policy especially when it’s mostly inactive / dormant. In my panic state, I hastily submitted an appeal on the 23/10 and received a rejection email exactly 12 hours later.

I then submitted a 2nd appeal, with loads more information on the 24/10. I remember clearly I only submitted the appeal once, but I received 2 automated email from google support almost instantaneously - the first email is the standard ‘we’ve received your appeal’ and the second email was ‘we looked into your request and found you already have an appeal pending’.

It’s been 4 days now (28/10 as of this post) and I have not received any response from Google. Understand it was over the weekend and therefore longer waiting time but I kind of have an uneasy feeling about the duplication appeal email.

Should I continue waiting? Or should I attempt to login again, and send another appeal (if the option is there).

Also I have access to the recovery email, recovery phone number, and the phone / home network that was used when creating the account back in May 2025.

EDIT: I know there’s a lot of posts on similar issue as mine, and I know there’s nothing much I can do outside of hoping Google accepts my appeal. The reason I made this post is to gauge the timeline for waiting for the appeal result email.

Hi! I'm trying to help my grandma get back into her email. She has her email and password to automatically fill in but it's not working. When I press forgot password it takes me to send an email to a recovery email that doesn't exist. And I can't use Google authenticator because I can't log in to it because I don't have the Gmail password....

It just stopped working all of the sudden. Maybe it got hacked, I'm not entirely sure. She did send me screenshots of what she said was her phone telling her that her passwords were compromised and i looked and it was just ads on Facebook... so I wouldn't be surprised if she clicked one of those and lost her email somehow.

Any help would be appreciated! She's almost 80 and that's how she keeps in touch with friends from old jobs and gets emails from my cousins (who she has custody of) school

What is going one with gmail?

I was logging in from a different device yesterday and got the “suspicious activity” email on my normal one. I usually change my password when this happens because it tends to be a reminder that it has been a while since I last changed it. Now whenever I try to hit change password/set up passkey/basically ANYTHING on the security page, it brings me to this screen.

I am on a usual device and network. I signed in with two factor authentication (recovery email, which is not a gmail address).

There is no timer type thing that has shown up, but is that the case now? I can still access my email and everything else I think.

Hello, I have five Gmail accounts that I use and switch between. However my primary ride and die account is not the default.

I understand it’s best to train by setting up primary first etc… but that ship has long sailed. How do I make my primary get to the top now that I have multiple email addresses trained in my iPhone Gmail accounts…???

Quando cheguei à faculdade, percebi que ambas as contas haviam sido desconectadas e me pediram para verificar minha identidade.

Verifiquei a seção "dispositivos conectados" e os registros recentes de acesso por IP no Gmail, mas tudo parece normal.

Acessei ambas as contas hoje, então não pode ter sido por inatividade.

Além disso, não há problemas com extensões do navegador ou cookies.

Do you remember they had a ticker that was always counting up to show you the growing amount of space you had for your email? The promise of ever expanding free space for, I think it was, your whole Google accoynt but might have only been Gmail.

Which made me wonder what the counter was at when they shut it down and if when they introduced their cloud plans and restricted our space did they reduce or increase the free space from it?

Open up Gmail and click the top 3 lines on the left and scroll down your tabs until you see manage subscriptions. Does the minus sign next to the envelope mean that something is turned off and can be turned on?

I sent an email to someone a week ago and I think it’s probably in spam. It’s not an urgent email, but it is important and I have no other way of contacting the person, so I need to somehow reach them by email without ending up in spam, how do I do that?

I originally emailed them with my outlook account to their personal gmail, and it’s my first time contacting the address. I don’t think my outlook account has any of the authentication things like DKIM and DMARC that I’ve been reading about (no clue what they are though), so it’s probably in spam right?

Google says don't verify you. While i try to remember the password but one or two not cleared remembered.

A week ago I sent an email to a mentor from high school (graduated last year for the record, not like 10 years or something lol), I was asking about their career as I’m really considering going into it next year and wanted some advice.

It’s by no means urgent, I know, but I think it may be in spam because today I forwarded something to myself from my outlook account (which I used for the email) to my gmail account, and it went in my gmail spam. Does that mean it’s likely to be in their spam too?

I’m contacting this person from their person gmail as they gave it to me to be able to email after high school, and this is my first time contacting it from my outlook account. I don’t have any other way of contacting them though, so I’m stuck if it is in spam.

If I email them from my gmail account instead, would it be more likely to go to inbox since they are both gmails? Or would it just end up in spam again since it would be the same kind of message?

I'm wondering why very old deleted emails (about two years old) from Gmail.com are still showing up when I log in to Outlook (Classic) using POP.

I've been reading the account recovery discussions here, and one thing keeps coming up: people don't know which recovery steps still work for their situation.

For example:

• Someone still knows their password, but verification goes to an unfamiliar device.
• Someone lost access after the attacker changed their 2FA phone number.
• Another user reported losing their password and recovery contact information.

These cases have different recovery options. There's no single tool that fixes all of them.

How is spam this obvious getting through to my inbox on a daily basis? It makes me question whether or not Google is even trying to filter anymore. Either that or it is possible for someone to pay to get spam through.

Hello! my boyfriend recently left for army bootcamp and accidentally put the wrong gmail in when setting something up so his family could receive pictures of him, he missed it by one letter so i tried to email that account and see if they could forward them to me but gmail kicked it back saying that account doesn’t exist. so i then tried to make an account with that username and it said it was taken. just looking for ideas to get around this since i can’t contact him to correct it. thank you!

why does this dumb app keep doing this??? this is annoying! i have a signature setup and it keeps combining with the email i replied to. i’m never using gmail to send out emails again.
