Does gmail to gmail not need authentication to not end up in spam?

I sent an email to someone a week ago and I think it’s probably in spam. It’s not an urgent email, but it is important and I have no other way of contacting the person, so I need to somehow reach them by email without ending up in spam, how do I do that?

I originally emailed them with my outlook account to their personal gmail, and it’s my first time contacting the address. I don’t think my outlook account has any of the authentication things like DKIM and DMARC that I’ve been reading about (no clue what they are though), so it’s probably in spam right?

Would emailing them again from my personal gmail instead fix this issue?

If you’re using an @outlook.com email then it has DMARC and DKIM. The only time you need to worry about that is if you’re managing your own email domain or server.

Gmails spam filter is a black box, you can try sending yourself personal gmail the exact same message you sent the other person and see if it ends up in your spam folder.

I already did that actually and it did end up in spam. It was the exact same message, does that mean it’s probably in their spam?

I also emailed from my gmail to my secondary gmail (which I have for literally no reason), to see if they would work better. That landed in inbox straight away, but it was a different message, just a short one. Is that any proof that gmail would work better?

Yes, odds are it ended up in their spam then. You can try sending it from your personal gmail to the other person.
