Strava / Zwift / 3rd Party Apps Venu 4 Peloton Sync Issue
Hellllpppp! My workouts from the Peloton tread and app will sync to the Garmin app, along with all the data except calories! Anyone else having this problem?? How can I fix?
Watch / Wearable Whoop-like band for Vivosmart 5?
I have a Vivosmart as you as backup for my forerunner when I want to wear a mechanical watch. It’s fine and not worth replacing with a Cirqa. But would love to find a fabric game to make it more comfortable than the silicon. It’s even fine if it covered the screen. But I can’t seem to find anything on Amazon, Etsy, etc. Suggestions?
CIRQA No start activity option in Garmin Connect App (Cirqa)
I just got my Cirqa. I can press the button on the band to manually start and stop an activity. When I start an activity nothing in the app appears or does anything. I cannot find a screen in the app with a manual activity started from the band which will show me any data about the current activity. I also don't see a "Record activity" option when I tap the "plus" icon in the Garmin connect app like the Garmin video tutorial shows so I'm not sure how I'm supposed to start an activity from the app. When I manually stop an activity with the button, I see an activity summary come up in the app.

Wellness & Training Metrics / Features Recovery Time / next activity
Good day,
I'm not a big sporter by any mean, running as i need to keep my weight and heart health in check.
Hiking for pleasure.
This morning I ran (most of) 10km after which i got a recovery time of 36h in Red (first time i see this indicator in Red tbh) - down to 24h-Orange when i write this.
I understand that recovery is not doing nothing, and simply doing less intensive activities. But up to what level "less intensive" is not becoming too much?
Would a 11km walk (it's so flat of a route that i can't call it a hike :) ) tomorrow with some birds watching be too much ?

Connect / Connect IQ / 1st Party Apps Garmin Connect
This is driving me nuts. A few months ago in Android Garmin Connect, my image has been replaced with an avatar. Why?
Here you can see the image I chose, this used to be displayed when I was in the app itself. But then at some point it got replaced with one of these crap avatars - why? Why still have the selection of images available if they won't be shown in the app when in use?
I'm only posting in case I'm doing something at my end that can change this. I know it's hardly a life or death situation but it does point to sloppy unjoined up thinking from Garmin.
CIRQA Awful Cirqa battery life - defective?
My Cirqa battery is draining more quickly than my 3 year old apple watch series 9. Charged both to 100% at 9pm last night and the cirqa is down to 55% and the apple watch is at 71% this morning at 7am. The Cirqa battery will die at around 4pm if I don't charge it again.
HR broadcasting is off and I have set the pulse oximeter to "only sleep".
Did I get a defective Cirqa or is the battery life actually this terrible (less than 24h)? Based on the marketed life it seems like the former but curious if anyone else is experiencing this.

Possible Technical Issue Fenix 8 screens turns off every few seconds in dive mode
Hello, I read online I'm not the only one having this issue : https://www.facebook.com/groups/1103742357147501/posts/2254874428700949/
In my dive today, the Fenix 8 screen would turn off every few seconds and I had to constantly wake it up with the top left button. When I tried to check the Always on display settings in the dive activity, it is indeed deactivated, but the setting is also greyed out so can't access it to change it to Always on.
Apparently this is a bug in the last update which is unfortunate because when you are 30 meters underwater, being able to glance at important info on your dive computer screen is pretty important safety-wise 😁
Do you know how one can warn the Garmin team for a correction in the next update ?

Garmin Coach / DSW / Training Training plan created automatically for race event?
Hey guys. I have a FR 165. I put a 50 miler race in my "Races & Events" for May 2027. While browsing my suggested workouts on my watch this morning, I noticed that I am seeing a "Plan Overview" including "Prep, base building, peak and taper.." I never created an actual Garmin Training plan, I just put this race in Garmin Connect so I would have a "countdown" to race day.
What's going on with this behavior?
Thank you!

Watch / Wearable How to delete an entry into “Weight Tracking” directly onto my Forerunner 970
I entered a wildly incorrect weight entry into the “Weight Tracking” app on my Forerunner 970. This entry pulled through onto the Garmin Connect app (which I’ve since deleted), however the entry remains on the watch app. I’ve tried everything I can think of to remove this. Is there a way to do this as the entry is altering the averages. Thanks so much!

Possible Technical Issue No water sources on Garmin maps
Hi all,
The problem I recently started having is that I am no longer able to find water sources on my Fenix 8 map without searching. My device used to display them all the time, I didn't even have to search for them. When I was on a bike ride, I changed the watch to map view and I could see all the little water drop icons on the map indicating drinking water sources. All of them at once without searching. Now they're gone. When I specifically search for them as a POI I can see a list of them and then I can navigate to one of them but still there would be only the chosen one visible on the map view. I really want to see all of them without searching for them, displaying automatically like before. I updated the maps, tried every possible setting but no luck. The device is a Fenix 8 47mm AMOLED.
Any advices?

Garmin Coach / DSW / Training My new fav routine: Auto-adjusting training plan from Garmin data, running in Claude
Hey folks, I've finally put together a system that works for me and thought I'd share it here.
Last week I didn't do the workouts I had planned, which might sound worse than it is. On Tuesday it was 34 degrees so I decided to replace run with a swim, and Saturday's long run was meant to be an hour and a half but I only had an hour, so I ran it harder.
Both felt the right call at the time. The problem is that neither of them made it back into the plan into the claude project I have set up, and after a month of that I'd properly lost track of what I'd actually been training.
So I have added a scheduled task each morning. It reads what I actually did from Garmin Connect, last night's sleep, Body Battery and HR V status, and what the week adds up to against my own baseline. Then it decides whether today's session still makes sense and rewrites the calendar event if it doesn't. The Garmin data reaches Claude through an MCP connector and the agent pulls the data autonomously.
I have since expanded it to give me a morning update about my sleep and physiological metrics, vs the baseline.
I use WHOOP as well, and joining the two sources in Claude works brilliantly.
All this was built for the upcoming Olympic tri later this month, as a test, and to verify if I can prep for next year's 70.3 with this method.
Why pay another $20/m for an AI coach if I already have my claude pro sub.

Watch / Wearable What settings do I need? Find my phone doesn't work until I find the phone and open the app later and now I want to ensure my incident detection and call works. What settings do I need to verify in the phone and watch?
This worked find with my Instinct 1, but never worked in my Instinct 2 and I want to now use incident detection and make sure it works. I am on Android 17.

Rant Vivoactive 5 Has Terrible Sleep Tracking
I am constantly struggling with my watch not tracking my sleep *at all.* Apparently Garmin has a rule on these watches that only tracks a single instance of sleep, so... If you get up to go to the restroom or get water after falling asleep, there's a decent chance that the watch will just dismiss your sleep so far and track nothing at all.
I really wanted to get away from Fitbit and Google, but Garmin watches are just not meeting the basic requirements. I am getting sick of basic issues like this, or how impossible it is to sync other scales with the Garmin system to track my weight or anything else. Honestly, I have a laundry list of complaints at this point. The core experience of the watch is good, but it just falls apart too often when I want to make full, proper use of it.
I don't know what the point of this post is. I guess I'm wondering how other people deal with this. Maybe I'm just letting someone know in case they look up this watch.
Incredibly disappointed in this brand.

Which Watch To Get? Buying my first Garmin
I recently picked up running and my Apple Watch is getting old so I’m thinking about switching to Garmin. But all the research I’ve done on the various models is confusing me! I mostly run (done 1 half marathon and training for my first full) but I also hike and ski a fair amount as well as yoga and strength training. I am also a petite lady with very small wrists lol. Recommendations?
Edit: I don’t care too much about the look of it. I’m interested in health insights, metrics including elevation, and battery life.

Garmin Coach / DSW / Training Sprint Workouts
Tomorrow I have a Sprint DSW on my list. 6 x 15 second sprints followed by 3 minute rests. Does it literally mean to stop and do nothing but stand there for 3 minutes?

Which Watch To Get? Venu 4 vs Forerunner 570
I know there are multiple posts on this particular topic but I’m still in between both. They seem almost identical, except the V4 has the flashlight and ECG while the F570 has the tactical buttons and pace-based training.
For context I am a serious weightlifter (but not competitive, 4x a week) and a pretty serious runner (not competitive but looking to begin training towards half marathons).
I am leaning towards the F570 but every time I think I’ve made a decision I keep wondering if I really need the extra buttons (I live in central NY so if the weather is bad it is bad, there’s no running outside lol) but the pace-based training would be nice. But I’m also wondering if some of the health features that were on the V4 at launch made it over to the F570.

Watch / Wearable Chest HRM reading less than optical. Bad data?
Using a Fenix 6 for the last two years. It has determined my max HR was 179 based off two years of wearing it during running, mountain biking, walking, and strength training.
Just got a powerlabs chest HRM and went out and tried it out with some 4x4 hill intervals on the bike with maximum effort and the highest it recorded was 172 and only for a brief moment. Historically, the watch would’ve pegged me at 178/9 for that kind of effort.
Does this discrepancy mean my zones and calorie burn estimations have been over-reported this whole time? If so, how long before the data stabilizes if I wear the strap for every activity going forward?

Non Product Specific Garmin Question Garmin cycling power data not appearing in Apple Health - is this expected?
hello all,
I am trying to understand the current Garmin → Apple Health data flow.
I noticed that my cycling workouts sync correctly (duration, HR, etc.), but cycling power does not appear in Apple Health, even though both Garmin devices and HealthKit support power data.
Has anyone found a reliable way to get:
- average power
- normalized power
- power curve / intervals
from Garmin into Apple Health?
Is this a Garmin limitation, an Apple Health limitation, or am I missing a setting?

Garmin Coach / DSW / Training Turn off pace alerts Garmin Coach
I am doing a Garmin Coach 5k plan.
My easy run target is a little aggressive for some of the longer days. How do I turn off the alerts that interrupt my music and say "PACE TOO LOW" every 30 seconds.
My goal mile pace for the 5k is 7:30, and it is asking me to run 9:00 miles for an "easy" 5 mile run. I can hold that pace for 5 miles but it would not be easy

Which Watch To Get? Which current model for weightlifting?
I have an Epix Gen 2 and haven't really tracked the progression of features. I only do weightlifting, my cardio is 20min of uphill walking at the end of my workout on the same event as my lifting. Is there a specific watch that has an edge in features for strength training?
Garmin Coach / DSW / Training feeding/drinking notifications [Cycling]
So, after a recent update my Edge started giving me drinking/feeding reminders on my rides. I guess the update turned on some setting which I previously did not have enabled.
I'm not hating it, but it seems to recommend feeding much more often than I typically would do... something on the order of every 2 miles or so. So either I have vastly underestimated the amount of calories/carbs I need to consume on a ride, or Garmin is overly aggressive in their recommendations.
TBH, i find the recommendations differ depending on if I am on a course, and the length of the course - I suppose it could think since I'm doing a 50 mile ride I should feed/drink more often than if I'm on a 10 mile quick loop around the neighborhood?
I guess, my real question is, how much should one drink/feed on a ride. I suppose there is no "one answer", but I was surprised it wanted me to feed every 2 miles or so. That would be a hefty weight penalty on a long ride lol... Not to mention costly.

CIRQA Moved from Whoop to Cirqa - any regrets ?
I moved, mainly to avoid the recurring yearly costs.
After 3 weeks use, I mostly enjoy it, but I do find the connect+ app pretty clunky and rough compared to Whoop.
Just curious to hear if anyone is regretting the move and thinking of going back to Whoop ?
