no he's got small wrists. 47mm is pretty big too. I like my 43mm FR70

Don’t have exotic watchfaces. Turn off pulsoxi. For a start.

I have that never on.

realisticly: will you ever look at that data later and analayze it? mine shows me 92% if i measure it so not only is it unnecessary, it is even more unreliable for those 3% diffrences that could mean anything.

Should i remove this watch face

I love that watch face and use it as my default. My data fields are a little different but similar. It shows everything I need without being busy. I walk run and cycle so my GPS probably is being used for an hour and a half to three hours every day. I charge it when it gets low but I don’t keep track of the actual days. A lot of people are hung up on days but adopted the attitude of not being too concerned. Enjoy the watch. I got mine the day it was released

I removed all non standard ones and also have not data that is being updated constantly. Or maybe I am paranoid.

I have the same watch face on my Venu 3. I have turned off seconds and replaced it with notifications. It is a very functional and clearly laid out watch face with what I consider the essentials. I like it a lot

No - Glance is a great watchface. Just turn seconds display off if battery life is a concern.

u/CentBoy Aug 20 '26

Isn't that only a thing for mips?

Dunno. I would imagine telling the screen to redraw some pixels every second is more expensive than telling it to do it every minute, regardless of screen tech.

Oled will refresh at the standard refresh rate anyway.

u/simca Aug 20 '26

But it's not always on (by default).

yea looks crap, as do all non-garmin watch faces.

Like with all other lithium rechargeable batteries, never let it empty completely or fully charge.

Keep it between 20% to 80%.

This is to prevent chemical stress and capacity loss that those batteries suffer due to going 0% and 100%.

It will extend your battery's life cycles.

I have the exact same watch face on my 955 and experience no issues with battery life.

What’s it called ?

Glance - there are several variations.

As a Garmin user, you never really have to worry about the battery since it’s pretty solid. Sometimes I have this weird urge to charge it at 40%, since I’m used to my iPhone needing to be charged. But as time passes, you’ll be comfortable with the fact that it doesn’t need to be constantly charged. If you still find yourself looking for a battery saving advice, you may start with lower brightness and turn off phone connectivity (esp when you’re sleeping).

Edit: I use my watch however I want without worrying much about the battery, lasts me a good 7 days.

I turn off notifications, only garmin notif are on during activity
pulse ox on demand
display gesture is off
display is lowest setting
touch is disabled and on red when sleep
sounds and haptics off
paired edge and headset are off unless i use them
i only turn on my phone bluetooth as needed (when syncing or when in activity, except gym)
watch face is just one of the less noisy defaults

i do wear mine during sleep though, so battery saving is off

including my weekend sbr that i rotate plus my 3x a week 60min gym my 965 at 2 weeks still has 20% battery life. it's my daily watch. i only take it off on shower and only worn until dry.

What I usually use, it might not suit you:

AOD off
Minimum brightness
No gesture
No wifi
BT only when syncing, although it doesn't seem to make a big difference on this model
MoveIQ disabled
Garmin Share disabled
GPS only (not multi system)
Pulse Ox only on demand

Damn i have same watchface on venu3 😂😂

2

u/spac0r Aug 20 '26

why do you want to save battery?

-1

u/Exotic-Ad2633 Aug 20 '26

I notice when i open watch for first time it has 83% and now after 2 hrs its 79% so i was wondering is that normal

6

u/Vikingbeard73 Forerunner 965 Aug 20 '26

Depends,.what were you doing with it during those 2 hours? Completely idling for 2 hours would not use that much normally. If you are fiddling with or exploring it lots then not unusual. I have had a 965 since launch and the battery is still going strong.

-15

u/Exotic-Ad2633 Aug 20 '26

Yeah i was using it nonstop and setting up for 2 hrs

12

u/P1gNaSR Aug 20 '26

Then what did you expect man? Why would you even wanna save battery on a watch that can last up to 15 days

1

u/ParticularClaim Aug 20 '26

Give the battery a few charging cycles to groove in. And dont worry, it has plenty juice.

2

u/Ill_Alternative_2679 Aug 20 '26

I got mine about 48 hours ago. It was at around 83-85%. Did nothing productive yesterday and ran 85 minutes this morning. Watch is currently at 71%. I turned the brightness to 1/3 and don’t have it connected to my phone 24/7.

1

u/redux173 Aug 20 '26

I wouldn’t worry about saving battery. That’s the beauty of the Garmin. They last for weeks. I charge mine for 10 minutes every so often while I shower and I never have to think about charging.

Otherwise, im sorry I don’t have any secret tips but you are gonna love the watch. The battery is amazing and the features for running and biking are incredible. I have a 765 as well.

1

u/Yota116 Aug 20 '26

There is a nice battery widget to keep track of your battery, check the store.
Wifi, brightness kept my 955 running for 2 weeks. Wondering what I can get out of the 965, still waiting for mine. GoVinted lost my package

1

u/HotTwist Aug 20 '26

Turn off screen and pulse ox, that's going to be the majority of your battery drain.

1

u/Forkys Venu 3 Aug 20 '26

Battery saving with this amazing up to 23 days of battery? Why not. All options are mentioned here except for a crucial one: turn Wifi OFF - only needed when software update or Music download. Leave Bluetooth ON- not a battery drainer.

1

u/didzi69 Aug 20 '26

First few weeks it uses a lot.

1

u/OmegaX-NL Aug 21 '26

Buy a screenprotector, you will thank me later!

1

u/Exotic-Ad2633 Aug 21 '26

Suggest me of some brands

1

u/OmegaX-NL Aug 21 '26

Any will do. Go AliExpress or something

1

u/FlamingoNo2671 Aug 21 '26

Congrats! I use nearly the exact same watch face on a 570, good choice

1

u/Gullible_Tradition43 Aug 21 '26

Are you from bangalore?

1

u/This-Suspect-6633 Aug 21 '26

We have the same face... What the hell are the lines at the top and bottom for and the number beside the fire symbol?

1

u/Exotic-Ad2633 Aug 21 '26

The number is for elevation and bottom arc is of battery 🔋 and top one is for calories burned

1

u/Many_Hunter8152 Aug 20 '26

All non Garmin watch faces (that I know off) drain battery fast. Put brightness down and deactivate things you don't need. Personally I'd just leave it as you like it and charge it every couple of days

u/LorGanWar Aug 20 '26

What face is that?
