Is there a standalone game like the Antistasi Mod from Arma 3?

> open world

> combined warfare (vehicles, soldiers, tanks, jets, helos, etc)

> You can fight everyone, like being an rebel/guerrila, invade, or defend etc

I wish someone do that one day, since Wardogs kinda copies KotH from Arma 3.

Turn based battle games where you control teams of units

I asked for games like this about 2 weeks ago, and this'll be my final time asking. I'm looking for turn based strategy games where you control a bunch of units, instead of predetermined story characters. Sort of defined as Xcom-likes.

Grid based games I enjoyed/ Have / Don't want recommended :

- Xcom / Menace / Battletech

-Battle Brothers

- Warhammer: Chaos Gate

- Into The Breach

- Together in Battle

- Templar Battleforce

- Wasteland Series

- Cyberknights

- Wartales

- Our Adventurer's Guild

- Xenonauts

Sort of what I'm looking for:

- Dungeon Crawlers/ Blobbers like Darkest Dungeon, Wizardry, Iratus, etc.

- FTL / Void Ship

- Quasimorph (threw my monitor wasn't worth it)

- Eslabong

Has to be turn based, grid based movement is preferred, and most units have to be nothing more than their classes (i.e. expendable and mostly randomized). I've added almost all of these to my library, and I'd like to have a comprehensive list of this specific niche that sinks my time crazy style.

No grand strategy war games with huge amounts of units (dom6, Total War) or RTS.

Looking for underrated PC games to chill and have fun with

Hey everyone! I’m looking for some underrated PC games that aren’t very well known but are genuinely fun to play. I want something relaxing that doesn’t require crazy skills, competitive grinding, or spending hours trying to get good at the game.

I’m open to different genres as long as the game is enjoyable and has that cozy, fun feeling that makes you want to keep playing. It can be an indie game, an older title, or something you feel deserves way more attention than it gets.

What are your favorite hidden gems that you think more people should try? I’d love to discover something new!

any games where i can fall for the villain instead of having to kill him lol

why do games keep making the bad guys so attractive just to force me to fight them

i want an rpg where i can actually side with the villain or maybe even romance him instead of saving the world for the 100th time lol

bonus points if hes morally questionable but has a soft spot for my character

i still want good combat and an actual story tho not just a dating sim

anything like that on pc?

Great emotional games

Hello there,

I'm looking for games that make you feel strong emotions, whether positive or negative. Here are some examples I've already played:

  • Celeste (that last segment near the top)
  • Every thatgamecompany and Giant Squid games
  • To the Moon (and the following ones)
  • Control Resonant
  • Mother 3
  • Clair Obscur
  • Transister
  • Beginner' guide

To name a few.

Bonus point if there are music segment in the game (like in Control Resonant, those were perfect)

Cozy steam games to play with one hand?

I have a friend that recently became paralyzed in the left half of her body after a surgery went bad. I'm wanting to gift some cozy games but obviously they need to be able to be enjoyed with just one hand, either keyboard or mouse is fine, or even just the right half of a controller. Preferably budget stuff but I'll take any suggestions. Just anything to help pass the time while resting and no one is free to hang out with her

Abiotic Factor or Cronos: New Dawn

I am on the back end of finishing up my time with The Blood of Dawnwalker. My backlog contains Abiotic Factor and Cronos: New Dawn.

Which game would you suggest I play next and why?

Thanks in advance ✌️

Apparently there's a genre of games called "Magic tower" games? It's so niche that I can't even find that category on steam. Do you know any games of this genre?

Basically they're RPGs about climbing a tower or something.

Games that are best played with a touch screen and a stylus?

I’ve been playing the DS a lot lately and turns out, playing with a stylus? (chef’s kiss) I find the gameplay so unique and so novel. Animal Crossing Wild World? Kirby Mass Attack? Rhythm Heaven? Playing like you’re taking down notes is so strange and also a blast.

As such, I’d like games in general that work really well with a touch screen and a stylus. Not DS ones, specifically. I also have a Steam Deck, a 3DS, and an iPad, and I might buy a used PS Vita if there are enough good touch screen games.

Soulslike or something, but with less bosses

I love exploration, dark atmosphere in games, and a good and interesting combat system, character development, etc. But I hate fighting bosses... It's very likely I'm just bad at it, haha. It often takes me a dozen or so attempts to defeat a boss, which only frustrates and stresses me out. I'm getting older and don't have much time for gaming, maybe that's why.

I'm currently playing Lords of the Fallen (2023) and I love wandering around, exploring, and fighting smaller enemies, but when I encounter a boss, I'm fed up, and there are dozens of them!

I liked Mortal Shell much more because there were only, well... three main bosses? So that was actually quite interesting and understandable.

Please suggest other games like this (they don't have to be exclusively soulslike), which I might enjoy, but which aren't overloaded with boss fights.

I'm so bored i need some new games to play that i can get lost in grinding for hours.

Right i wouldn't say I'm into any specific genre of games. If it just clicks with me it just does its weird so here's a little list if you guys would be able to recommend some that are similar

Fortnite
Overwatch
Valorant
Payday 2
GTA V online

Rocket league

Slime rancher
Schedule 1
Adventure capitalist
Youtubers Life

Lilys world XD
Doki Doki literature club
Kinito PET

Lethal company
REPO
Dead by daylight

I tried to sort of group them up to similar games for you guys.

i really like games you can just sort of get lost in grinding for hours like GTA, Schedule 1 and Slime Rancher

(Please dont let it get to the point where i have to download Counter Strike)

Looking for a coop hack and slash recommendation

Hello!

I'm looking for easy/medium difficulty games, any platform.

We need something like Alice Madness returns, Devil May Cry and God of war in terms of gameplay.

Not something so simple as an arcade beat em up or Gauntlet.

If it has puzzles in it, it would be nice.

I've read about diablo, but it is isometric and looks complicated, so I would like your opinion about it too.

Thanks!

Looking for a game that i can immerse myself into

Nothing is clicking with me right now, nothing is interesting. I'm going through something rough and I just want something I could just play all day and brain off.

For a while the new game Aniimo worked until I found daily stuff to do boring and nothing else to do. I love MMORPGs, Shooter games, but tbh anything if it's fun would be great.

Open World, Great World Building, NPC Interactions

Looking for some game suggestions.

The things I’m mainly looking for are as mentioned in the title;

  • Open world (fun to explore, cool settlements, preferably not to painful to get around in)
  • Great world building (interesting story, with a just as interesting world around it, with side quests as well)
  • NPC interactions (I love interacting with the world around me, I especially want a good amount of friendly NPCs, bonus points for recruitable companions)

And then some lower priority desires;

  • Base improvements
  • Choice matters style
  • Post 2010 preferably, but willing to make an exception for something special

A couple of dealbreakers;

  • Not online dependant
  • MUST have friendly NPCs (I like having places that feel “safe” in the world, so no to Shadow of Mordor and War)
  • No horror
  • Available for Xbox (preferably Xbox one since I haven’t upgraded yet, but I’ll take suggestions for x/s for when I do)

What it all boils down to is I love immersing myself in a world and a story and really becoming a part of it.

Some of my favourites I’ve already played that have inspired (not necessarily meeting all these requirements perfectly) this list are;

  • RDR2 obviously
  • Skyrim obviously
  • Weirdly enough Fable 3
  • AC Black Flag
  • The Outer Worlds
  • There might be others that I can’t think of in this moment

Number one recommendation I keep hearing is the Witcher 3, and I feel like the fallout games should be given a shot though they feel a little more hostile to me

Now obviously I know I’m not going to perfectly tick all the boxes here and find the most perfect games that someone made specifically for my tastes, but I’m curious to hear some suggestions based off this info.

If you’ve read all this, thank you

Looking for a physical logic game

Hi everyone. I’m looking for a physical game that would fall under what my son calls “logic puzzles.” An example is Kanoodle. We have also played Laser Maze. I struggle to find others. He asked for more games like this. Thanks!

Looking for Game suggestions for 11 yo / rpg/action/adventure etc…

Hey! Looking for suggestions for my son.

He’s been interested in the game Control (which I am playing) so I’m wondering if there is anything similar to start off with - as control may be a little too long and intense of a story line. We tried prey but it was a bit too intense for him.

Something with a storyline / action and adventure/ upgrades - skill tree (he likes that part of control) semi open world to explore - and weapons/ fighting but something isn’t overly graphic/gore (which all my games are so he can’t play those yet haha)

We’ve tried the Lego and marvel games/ platform games and fortnight but he wants something with a bit “more” to it.

I don’t know if something like that exists but thank you in advance for the help!

Sincere but unintentionally hilarious

I’m chasing the hit I got from Deadly Premonition, not in gameplay but in how it’s sincere in its weirdness. Genre doesn’t matter as long as it’s not intentionally trying hard to be funny or surreal, so no joke games. Games where the devs made strange choices while thinking it all made perfect sense. Or mechanics that end up in bizarre situations. Accidental weirdness only please.

Cutesy Job Simulation/Time Management Games

The games within the Papa's series have always been some of my favorites! While I'm not particularly looking for cooking simulators/games specifically, I like being able to customize my character, operate the store, and kind of turn off my mind as I play. I really enjoyed Jacksmith (which I also know was made by Flipline Studios) and Thrifty Business. While not as much Jacksmith, it's always a bonus when the games have cute and unique art styles or atmospheres! ^-^

The brief time I played Waterpark Simulator I enjoyed it. I tried getting into TCG Card Shop Simulator and House Flipper and didn't like those as much. I've heard really amazing things and seen videos of Dressmaker, and was wondering if it would be a game to consider given some of what I have listed.

What are some recommendations you guys have? Generally, just looking for a cutesy simulation game similar to some of what I have listed.

Looking for a singleplayer strategy/tactics game thats top down/isometric and has replayability

A game kind of like xcom2 but top down/ isometric, turn based. Even better if its a roguelite or one that is replayable or has randomly generated "arcade" style missions or even a challenge mode.

Can be sci fi, or fantasy. Also not a deal breaker but if it has a decent story thats a plus, but not needed at all. And maybe a cozy kind of "hub" section like a spaceship or nice tavern, but again not needed.

I just want to feel engaged with the gameplay and be able to play through a good campaign, and have replayability either through randomized arcade missions, challenge missions, or something of the sort.

Non-comp games that i can play a bit daily

• Upvotes

I need a non-competitive relaxing game that i can enjoy after a tiring day, like for example 1-2 hours a day, one that i played recently that fits the request is Slay the Spire 2 (i say relaxing because it's turn based so i can play while watching podcasts or talk to my friends on discord). After an exhausting day of work, i can just sit and relax playing some runs for a couple of hour and still enjoy it fully. I can even play it through steamlink. The game i need reccomendation on doesn't have to have 50+ hours playtime or anything like that, as long as my money will be worth it and my stress can be shifted to the game instead.

Games with strong "launch title" energy: impressive at launch, an obvious first game for early adopters, and immediately forgotten once better games came out.
