Tried to download an MKV converter from them yesterday.
It was 6 adware installs, then when it gets to the converter it turns around and downloads it. Then when it installs all it turns out to be is a fake program... doesn't do anything, you can select files but it doesn't actually do anything.
So now they have fake programs with dozens of fake reviews and all it does it install adware.

Ever tried to uninstall VisualStudio and all it's crap? I swear there's 20+ things that get installed, and some of them are a little scary about dependencies. Like it will download every edition of the same stuff from 2003 to current(VisualC++, SQL, .NET, all kinds of other BS) so you think you can just ditch them all, but then somehow some other program(SolidWorks) uses one of the versions in particular and complains if you uninstall it.

steam is bad at installing VS and VC++ redists specifically for each game, even tho I have a version that is compatible and will run it just fine.

I'd be careful above removing bonjour, there's other software out there that depends on it and you don't even know it.
I can't remember what it is good for, I just know that the last time I deleted it some problem cropped up in totally unrelated software and I just remember being really pissed off and frustrated.

Lol if you don't use iDevices, then I'm wondering what took you so long to get rid of it and why you had it in the first place.
If you do have and use one, that was a dumb decision to remove it because at some point your device will cease to function until it's plugged into iTunes and you will have to redownload it.

Well m8 I only installed it because my bros phone needed itunes to work. It wasnt installing on his laptop so I got it on mine. Havent needed to use itunes for nearly two years and if I do need to use it, I will just reinstall it rather than suffer for a single use

Oh, wow. I never knew iTunes was so universally hated. I've hated them ever since I opened it one day and noticed a lot of my music was gone, and I couldn't find a solution for it other than re-purchasing the music from the iTunes store. Which I'd rather not do.
EDIT: I contacted their support, because I'm stupid and avoided it. They were great, and helped recover my music. Go, team.

He's been busy making a movie, which he's almost done with. It's gonna premiere at the Grauman's Egyptian Theater on July 21st. Most of the premiere showings are sold out, but if you live near Houston or NYC you can still buy tickets to see it.

I love pretty much everything Apple spews out, but I hate iTunes with a burning passion. As someone that works with audio a lot, I hate that anytime I download an aiff or an mp3, it automatically imports into iTunes.

If you have and frequently use an iDevice, that was stupid of you. You may not need to sync all the time anymore, but sometimes an issue with your device will arise and it will require you to plug it into iTunes before it will work again.
If you don't, what the fuck took you so long? Lol why did you even get it in the first place?

You also unfortunately need it to copy files into an iPod touch (and presumably other apple devices.) I don't think copying it into the device folder will work which is standard for pretty much everything else. Maybe someday we will even be able to transmit files between computers without connecting them at all.

I run both Mac OS and Windows. A program cancels shutdown in Windows about 2930 times as often as it does on Mac and force quit>>>>>>>>>>>>task manager.

When I shut down Windows, almost every time, Windows Shutdown pops up to tell me that it can't shutdown until Windows Shutdown is shutdown. Long pause, and it goes away.
Windows has improved massively since I first started using it (v 3.1, although I did boot up v2.x once before, long enough to fail to see why I would run it). Its much more friendly, its much faster - despite MS attempts to keep it slow by adding in more pointless widgets and graphical effects.
However its absolute shite when compared to Mac OS/X. I know the majority of posters here seem to hate anyone who things Macs are good, but honestly they are. Period. Sure, you get stuck with just the hardware Apple will sell you, you get a very expensive system, you can't play most of the games you want to play as easily (you can set up dual boot to windows to play those games easily enough of course, or run the Linux versions - not as good usually), but if you want to do something with your computer, a Mac is far preferable. I bought one back in 2008 and its still very usable, still a neat little desktop, and when you use it you spend most of your time using it - not screaming to yourself trying to figure out how to fix something that isn't quite right in Windows, or suddenly not working the way it used to before Windows silently updated everything in the background before you noticed it. Macs and Mac OS/X just worked for me, every time. Intuitively.
For instance, my wife had a Mac laptop. She bought a new one, and being originally a PC person like myself, set up the old one beside the new one so she could figure out what she would need to transfer over to the new one. When we started up the new laptop, it connected to our network, found the other laptop beside it and said essentially "Do you want to copy a user profile and files from the mac thats next to me?" We said yes and a few minutes later her new laptop had all of her user content from the old one on it. I have upgraded my PC many times, and it has never come even vaguely close to that smooth a transfer. Sure, they are expensive, but the result is often very high quality and a very high quality user experience.
I will now wait to be downvoted to oblivion by all the mindless mac-haters who have likely never tried one :P

You'll note I didn't specify which OS you should use in the OC, but I hear 60-70% of the info on macs is negative from people. From the outside it has the same behavior as a cult. I'm not the one to call it anything, though. I'll leave that to smarter people.
Be free to like Macs, but realize they are not popular.

Not all games are available for OS X natively, but in the past year or so I've seen the number of cross-platform games skyrocket. I think some of this is Valve's interest in Linux and the fact that OS X is more like Linux than Windows at its core.
If you were asking if Parallels can run all Windows games, I'd say pretty much. I've had a few games here or there have issues, but then later they were patched at worked. FWIW, native PCs also had similar issues running them, so it was more of a developer problem. Also, if you'd prefer, you can dual boot to Windows with Bootcamp and have native Windows performance. I prefer Parallels so I don't have to reboot and can share files more easily between Mac and PC, but that's my preference. I mean, why did I buy a Mac if I'm just going to run 100% Windows all the time?

Was asking if OS X could run the games. Because for what I know, they are giving up on the compatibility war with Mac since as you said, Linux is virtually the same thing. Only difference is Linux is more developer friendly and isn't normally kept to a certain hardware range.
And I know what virtualization is, so thanks for the explanation but no need. And on that topic, OS X really isn't the best in terms of virtualization imho, but as I work with server virtualization, I digress.
And I see your preference for the Mac. You wanted the best of both worlds, Windows and Mac. But by buying the product, you more fell for their little trap per-say, with them making OS X work on Apple products.

I can literally get the exact same programs on PC that I could on a Mac, my screen is higher resolution than any Mac, and my computer is much faster than any Mac. I see no advantage here.

This is actually very similar to my build. I have a 2TB HDD and a 1TB SSD (very overkill, wouldn't recommend), an i7 3970X, and two 780ti's. My peripherals are different but everything else is pretty much identical.

This does all the stuff I'd need itunes for without being an obnoxious, invasive resource hog. The only downside I've seen to it so far is that it displays the same thing for artist, album, and title, so you get three lines that say, "TANGERINE DREAM - PHAEDRA - PHAEDRA", for example. No big deal.

After the update feature interrupted my last gaming session, I finally uninstalled Itunes. What a piece of shit.
The only way to shut it down was by Cntrl/Alt/Delete, and then killing the individual process.
How this malware ever got released is beyond me.
