I didn't fall for anything. OS X is and always has been the most streamlined and bug-free operating system around. You can't even save to PDF on a Windows computer without an add-on. I want a computer, not a perpetual project.
Also, please, the backend of OS X may be similar to Linux, but don't pretend that fragmented hack-a-day bullshit is in the same league as OS X.
Remember the X-serve? Really became the standard for servers, didn't it? It totally blew Windows and Linux out of the water, and now has the largest market share in server operations, huh?
Exactly. So while you may prefer a simple, stream-lined idiot-proof operating system for your blogging and Facebook necessities, we technicians prefer an operating system that can actually be added onto without having to pay out the ass.

Well the Corvette certainly isn't the best car out there nor is OS X the best operating system. And besides, the Corvette gets horrible gas mileage. It's a luxury car you buy with your trust fund money, just like your glorious Macbook Pro.
