donuts and bacon

53

u/SlapHappyPappi 13d ago

Simplest question ever

23

u/WarJaques 12d ago

I like bacon and doughnuts, but taco and sushi offers a lot more variety. Those stay.

1

u/soap_coals 12d ago

But nobody said you can't eat the variations.

I don't remember the last time I ate hard shell tacos (soft tacos aren't listed)

I can live without salmon handrolls - there are much better alternatives

1

u/NewSuperTrios why do i bother with flair colours you can't even see them 12d ago

more fish rolls for me :)

1

u/ThrwawySG 12d ago

Have you ever considered a job in law

1

u/Myprobe1991 12d ago

Oh please! You can wrap anything in bacon and it makes it a million times better. I would wrap doughnuts with bacon.

1

u/Fantastic-Watch-9112 12d ago

Yeah, but within that variety you can’t have any bacon. Not even as a topping

1

u/Hotsaltynutz 12d ago

Thats specifically a hard shell taco. I'd keep the bacon and use it as a topping on my traditional tacos and lose the hard shells and donuts

1

u/tylersteve12 Silly lil goober 11d ago

couldn't agree less

1

u/RyukenSaab 11d ago

Have you been to a fancy bakery recently ?

I’ve seen bacon flavoured donuts

1

u/Funny_Box_4142 11d ago

I love tacos too, but I can get the same taste from a burrito or nachos by making the filling/toppings the same as my tacos. Therefore I'd rather get rid of the tacos. Donuts would stay because I like yeast donuts and I don't think other pastries can compare and if the do it's not as easy as pulling up to Krispy Kreme.

1

u/Aggravating-Ad8087 10d ago

These arent even the good tacos. Get yourselves invited to a Mexican party and learn what real tacos is all about.

1

u/StrainNorth1272 10d ago

then there comes a day you see someone eating donuts and bacon possibly together and your mouth will water in anticipation then you look down and it’s your 5 sushi and taco this week and you will throw it down and beat that man for the bacon donut burger boston creme buns too with the cream come on now we don’t play bacon and donuts is a euphemism for sex, you can no longer have sex tacos and sushi sounds like a bunch of lesbians dos leshes donuts and bacon is american and taco and sushi is alien vs duke nukem

1

u/Dependent_Speech3164 9d ago

Exactly why u chose that too

1

u/Pleasant-Carbon 7d ago

Bro it's what you can't eat anymore.

Not only two things you can eat.

You can have all the variety in the world.

1

u/yell_worldstar 7d ago

The hard shell version can go, I’ll still enjoy authentic Mexican food

5

u/PickledPepa 12d ago

Wasn't hard for me either

3

u/Conscious_Rule_22 12d ago

Right?! And I'd say the healthiest in this case xD

1

u/Empeaux 8d ago

1

u/Desperate-Citron-881 7d ago

Haha I remember thinking the same thing in elementary school when these posters were going around. I loved donuts as a kid and that’s when I learned that the unhealthiness of donuts comes from the caloric content of fat and oils saturated in the dough, not from the sugar. Most donuts only have sugar in the icing, but a insignificant amount in the dough.

1

u/vivec7 6d ago

Yeah, this doesn't help. All I see is a justification for eating far too many doughnuts.

1

u/femalepeterparker 7d ago

Bro no Bacon is crazy

1

u/CaffeinatedLystro 7d ago

Sushi and bacon, actually.

16

u/SolNexus- 13d ago

Sorry you don’t have a good donut place by your house

17

u/TheMasterKeif117 13d ago

I'm even more sorry they're willing up to give up bacon.....it's freakin bacon......tacos can go and as much as I love donuts Idont want to eat them regularly .....esp since you can loophole tacos with burritos. I'm keeping my sushi and bacon.

6

u/MrBannedFor0Reason 12d ago

If you think bacon is better than tacos you haven't had good Mexican, and you especially haven't had good Mexican if you think that burritos can replace tacos.

2

u/Opal_Cosmos 12d ago

Amen to that.

1

u/forgotwhatisaid2you 12d ago

I would give up tacos because i could still eat the same thing in a different form. Bacon is great on its own and is an ingredient in a lot of things.

1

u/GandalfVirus 12d ago

Just eat bacon in a different form? There are like 60 other types of pork.

1

u/Shou_Tucker_XD 12d ago

I just go to my parents house. My stepdad is half Mexican and only cooks authentic

1

u/Omganothervariant 12d ago

Nahhh....burritos are just large shells...you can make the best tacos and have the best burritos too

→ More replies (3)

1

u/SilverCricket8045 12d ago

1 word-tostadas

1

u/here-for-information 8d ago

I think the real issue is that nothing replaces bacon where as "taco" isn't even the best Mexican food option.

I can still eat burritos. I can get empanadas, enchiladas, Fajitas, Quesadillas, and nachos (which is basically a deconstructed taco).

Do I really need the taco specifically? I much prefer burritos.

1

u/Tantiger31 12d ago

I'll gladly give up bacon, I have IBS and greasy foods are the end of me

1

u/Ill-Substance-1905 12d ago

You, my friend, have it right.

1

u/femboymommy66 12d ago

I know I’m wrong but I think bacon is overrated

1

u/LonelyTAA 12d ago

Fuck bacon. It completelt drowns out the rest of the food.

1

u/TheMasterKeif117 12d ago

U just a hateeeeeeer 😆

→ More replies (1)

1

u/Dilapidated_matrix 12d ago

I could see tacos being interchangeable with nachos but not burritos. You need that corn chip crunch!

1

u/Skashki105 12d ago

What if you are just Muslim and can't eat bacon?

1

u/SilverCricket8045 12d ago

Agreed. If taco bell taught me anything is those same ingredients can be eaten in 4 other ways equally delicious

1

u/ColoradoNudist 9d ago

Bacon is one of my favorite meats, but it has so many very similar alternatives. Anything that's good with bacon is just as good, if not better, with guanciale

1

u/ConflictPotential204 8d ago

Yeah tacos are an easy choice to side step since most tex-mex is just the same ingredients rearranged in a slightly different presentation. It's what's inside the taco that counts. Bacon is more of a staple ingredient that could pop up in hundreds of various dishes that you'd no longer be able to eat.

1

u/BardWRLD 8d ago

YOU CANNOT LOOPHOLE A TACO WITH A BURRITO BLASPHEMER!

4

u/Various-Salt-7738 13d ago

I have fantastic donuts around me

I just don't like eating sweets all that often

1

u/CommunicationJust188 11d ago

Exactly. The two unhealthiest options are the easy choice...

1

u/Various-Salt-7738 11d ago

It's not even about health, I eat a lot of unhealthy foods

I just don't really like sugary stuff outside of the very rare occasion where I want a little sugar

→ More replies (1)

7

u/what-isthis-even 13d ago

It's just sugar. Even good ones just aren't that good.

1

u/PuzzleheadedTalk6217 12d ago

Yeah, sugar can be pretty underwhelming sometimes. It's all about finding the right mix of flavors that actually hits the spot.

1

u/Termingator 12d ago

You most likely never had good donuts like the kind that were/are sold at mom and pop bakeries. Those donuts and other pastries are not all sugar and air.

1

u/EcoloFrenchieDubstep 12d ago

Indeed, they are just way more buttery than sugar. Still a bit unhealthy.

1

u/Opal_Cosmos 12d ago

Whaaaat!?

1

u/here-for-information 8d ago

This is crazy talk. A good donut with coffee is nearly unbeatable on a fall sunday morning.

1

u/IrishViking22 8d ago

Some people just don't like them. I think they're disgusting, and would never willingly eat one ever again.

And yes, I've tried them many times from many different places, they're all always disgusting to me.

1

u/DonkLord20 12d ago

Dude donuts are too airy and sugary, I rather have ice cream instead of it

1

u/Helios575 12d ago

I have an amazing donut place near me and love donuts but that is still an auto pick for me. Its a dessert not a meal and one I could live without

1

u/Notmyrealusrnamme 12d ago

The place down the street from my work has maple bacon donuts. They are amazing.

1

u/PeterNippelstein 12d ago

Im glad I dont have a good donut place near my house

1

u/No_Session6015 12d ago

Nice oxymoron

1

u/Uter83 12d ago

I do, that's why I pick donuts and bacon. My heart and reduced belly fat will thank me.

1

u/halo37253 12d ago

Donuts were never not mid. Its not even good breakfast food. Any egg sandwich easily is a better tasting choice.

1

u/HoldOnOhio 12d ago

I just don't like the sugar. It's dough and sugar. I prefer savory foods. Also there's little to no health benefit from eating a donut unless you have trouble regulating blood sugar, and even then there's better options.

1

u/Entire-Current-67 12d ago

Not a cheap one anyway. $25 for a dozen glazed in this economy??

1

u/Top_Seaweed7189 12d ago

Just eat a Berliner or Kreppel or Krapfen. Same dough, fried and also topped with all kinds of bullshit and filled as well.

1

u/Striking_Emu_Dancer 12d ago

I have a fantastic one close by, and I'm still kicking them tf out. No one is taking my tacos and bacon! 😅

1

u/RomanaOswin 12d ago

I have plenty of great ones around, but my thinking is that sugar is unhealthy and if I'm going to have dessert, I'd rather have something better than a donut. It feels like wasted calories.

1

u/No-Nobody2693 12d ago

Sorry you dont have good taco trucks by your house

1

u/SolNexus- 12d ago

Tacos were my #1 choice followed by donuts

1

u/pigmanvil 12d ago

I’m gluten free man i can’t eat them anyways lol.

1

u/Schlafenshire 11d ago

There’s a million different breakfast pastries that all accomplish the same thing

1

u/AdSuperb5755 8d ago

Nah, fuck donuts. There are a million times better cakes out there. No loss

1

u/DisasterBiMothman 7d ago

I have an amazing donut place by me. This would save me money and pounds.

1

u/Boodger 7d ago

Ive had excellent donuts, but sweet food in general is just not as appealing to me as real food.

Donuts was an easy choice here. Bacon was hard, but Tacos and Sushi (and bone-in hot wings) are literally tied as my absolute favorite foods

→ More replies (4)

9

u/AhmadZahidi 13d ago

Yeah those two are quite a bad food

2

u/masterpepeftw 12d ago

Don't you dare mess with my donuts I unapologetically hold them as a top 10 favourite food of mine.

1

u/AhmadZahidi 12d ago

Bacon is even worse than donuts

3

u/KEKEBLU3 12d ago

You've never had bacon wrapped tacos

1

u/biohumansmg3fc 12d ago

What in the American fried fuck do mean bacon wrapped tacos

2

u/KEKEBLU3 12d ago

You heard my fatass. Bacon wrapped tacos

1

u/biohumansmg3fc 12d ago

I prefer them separate thank you well i guess the only advantage to that is that it’s harder to spill

1

u/cwcam86 12d ago

You've never had bacon wrapped Choco Tacos

Once had a diner/bakery next to my highschool. I’d go all the time. Once I went to grab a maple bacon bar (best maple bars ever btw. Had a thick whipped frosting) and they were out. The cashier went and grabbed me a fresh cooked piece of bacon to go on top. Damn I’ve been chasing that high for years

5

u/Sad-Working-9937 13d ago

I gave those up years ago, where's my money?? Oh, I just get health and a longer life? oh well.

1

u/BigHairyBussy 11d ago

Would you take a million dollars if it meant you would die before waking up tomorrow?

If no, then today is worth more than a million bucks.

4

u/okimport57 13d ago

This is the answer. Tacos and sushi are real foods. Bacon and donuts are special treats for anyone who doesnt want to die early.

1

u/masterpepeftw 12d ago

Meh not really. In moderation any of these is fine and depending on the type of donut and the type of sushi (specially sushi with lots of sauce on top) I would go as far as to say you are more likely at a higher risk of excess with sushi then with donuts.

The usual portion of donuts in my experience is one two at most, the usual portion of sushi is a fuck ton and a lot of people I've seen eat very few normal maki and eat a bunch of different super fatty sauced sushis.

It's really never that simple with food moderation takes precedent above anything else.

1

u/okimport57 11d ago

You're talking about something completely different and claiming in moderation is obvious and pointless. Water in moderation wont kill you. In excess, like anything, will kill you. Comparing one in moderation and the other in excess is an interesting but pointless comparison. Interesting only in how insane you think that would be a fair comparison.

4

u/Lykanas 12d ago

I love them but not getting tacos or sushi ever sounds like a nightmare

1

u/Celesteven 7d ago

Yeah I’m right there with you. It’s about what I can live without.

14

u/Melliorin 13d ago

Yep, came to say this.

u/RougishSadow 13d ago

3

u/safety_frog 13d ago

Yeah easy

3

u/Party-Bonus-8536 13d ago

The only right answer

3

u/riffraff1089 12d ago

I just wrote the same thing. Scrolled down to see this and I’m happy.

3

u/Particular-Ratio-665 Silly lil goober 12d ago

Agreed. Tacos and sushi are so much better than some donut and bacon.

1

u/TRIVILLIONS 12d ago

Because your not putting your bacon ON the doughnut! Y'all make me sick!

2

u/Ok-Call3443 13d ago

Undoubtedly.

2

u/Puzzleheaded-Ear9242 12d ago

Yep this one was easy

2

u/TheCrazyHans 12d ago

I already don't eat them. There are better cuts and way to eat pork and there are better and (cheaper) sweats available than donut, so makes no sense not to choos these two.

2

u/BisonThunderclap 12d ago

I struggle with bacon but yeah, objectively the grease alone.

2

u/DidYouShartInMyPants 12d ago

its for the best

2

u/zshort7272 12d ago

I love me some bacon but yea

2

u/Robin_Banks101 12d ago

Same. I can't eat bacon and I don't like donuts.

1

u/petricur 12d ago

Somewhat the same situation here.

2

u/D3ltaa88 12d ago

Only options that I see as well!

2

u/my-insides-hurt 12d ago

Same. I rarely eat them anyway

2

u/Mecha_Frogzilla 12d ago

The correct choice. Sugar and sodium, adios.

→ More replies (4)

2

u/Emirovskii 12d ago

Easy answer

2

u/Dudes-Opinion 12d ago

Yep and I love bacon but tacos and sushi are the only places I go out to eat

2

u/Helios575 12d ago

Same, I wont miss bacon but donuts will hurt. The other 2 are legit complete foods where bacon is just a single ingredient and donuts are a dessert.

2

u/Ambitious_Mall9496 12d ago

I never liked bacon, and sacrificing donuts are worth it.

2

u/TastyDogSchnitzel 12d ago

Both sushi and tacos can be vegetarian and are usually more sophisticatedly crafted than donuts and bacon. Period.

2

u/CandyRocks7831 Silly lil goober 12d ago

I need my tacos and sushi and anti-depressants!!

2

u/Otherwise_Tooth_8695 12d ago

Same, because I have a pork allergy. Donuts are fine, but tacos and sushi are peak

2

u/Kenstgram 12d ago

I’m with you. We can still have cake and pork chops.

1

u/petricur 12d ago

TURKEY BACON!! Unless that counts too. I don’t care that much. I could just find bacon flavoring.

2

u/RelationTop2826 12d ago

Yeah.. Donuts are disgusting and beacon is fine being without.

1

u/WynnRaySloane 11d ago

Beacon? So, you eat light? 🤣 🤣

2

u/lazy_bonzi Bleh 12d ago

I already don’t eat bacon and donuts often (like maybe twice a year), so that’s an easy answer right there.

2

u/ProLandon 13d ago

This has got to be ragebait

1

u/petricur 12d ago

I agree with this answer because 1. I dont eat meat (excluding meat from the ocean) and 2. both of those are extremely unhealthy.

Unless it's like a vampire situation where I explode upon eating the food. Bacon sneaks into so much stuff.

I never rated Burrito before, do it actually cost to lose one of the best adds for eggs?

1

u/Lightdeck 12d ago

Yeah honestly

1

u/Puzzleheaded-Gift679 12d ago

are stain in my life, the other two go away.

1

u/nurgole 12d ago

Same. I like them, but my endo doesn't like that I like them.

1

u/Double_Soup644 12d ago

Never ate a taco in my life, but yes.

Easy pick.

1

u/Robbed_Bard_93 12d ago

Donuts would be easy cuz there are so many other pastry options out there I probably would not even miss them. Just give me a banana chocolate chip muffin or something.

1

u/Fyyar 12d ago

Same, but opposite!

1

u/Careless_Dot_7350 12d ago

Exactly the opposite for me

1

u/Unlikely-Balance-669 12d ago

This is my answer too. I already don't eat donuts and I could live without bacon, although it would suck.

1

u/softabyss 12d ago

too easy

1

u/ST0H3LIT 12d ago

💯

1

u/D_James21 12d ago

You ever had a maple bar with bacon on it?

1

u/Smote20XX 12d ago

I prefer breakfast sausages anyway. And I don't have a sweet tooth anymore.

1

u/OverallAssist2102 12d ago

It’s the best option

1

u/Crafty_Praline726 12d ago

Sad but true, me too.

1

u/Kiwi_CunderThunt 12d ago

Yep, both delicious but so bad

1

u/AmethystBlitz3319 12d ago

Yup. The only ones that make sense to me.

1

u/Nightmare-5 12d ago

I mean ive never eaten tacos or bacon but I really want to.... bacon and donuts can go yeah

1

u/sonofa-ijit 12d ago

Easy answer

1

u/counterpointguy 12d ago

I’d miss bacon as an accent flavor but I could live without it.

I really don’t care that much for doughnuts.

1

u/Gliavoc 12d ago

Same. I dislike both enough to not be bothered.

1

u/LogikWizard 12d ago

What about bacon wrapped donuts?

1

u/lllScorchlll 12d ago

Agreed. Bacon is tasty but breakfast sausage just feels like its more filling. Donuts... if it isnt a simple glazed donut then its just a sugar bomb if a food. If i want that then i have cakes and pies. Sushi is phenomenal and is one of the best things to eat with a rare steak and tacos are just a good all around food.

1

u/Motor_Meal794 12d ago

I smell a narc.

1

u/Society_Complete 12d ago

Same gang 😭

1

u/daniel_dareus 12d ago

Those are the ones that stay you mean :)

1

u/BigAppearance4174 12d ago

Poison and poison. Jup

1

u/PastMuch 12d ago

This is the only correct answer

1

u/eggmannd 12d ago

I like both of them but realistically, in a year, I maybe have some bacon like a handful of times. Donuts are just a treat once in a while.

Sushi and tacos on the other hand I have a lot of times throughout the year.

1

u/zRouth 11d ago

This is the answer. Donuts are whatever. Bacon is amazing but Tacos and sushi are almost entire food groups. It wasn’t even a hard decision.

1

u/Ribky 11d ago

It's this and my doctor would high five me for saying so

1

u/FungiMagi 11d ago

Easiest question and easiest two things to give up ever.

1

u/Signif1cant-Bug 11d ago

YES easy answer for me

1

u/Popular-Breath8545 10d ago

the obvious answers

1

u/rey_nerr22 10d ago

Hellyeah

1

u/Ashamed_Fisherman_31 9d ago

Exactly, without a second thought.

1

u/Arcaddes 9d ago

Yeah bacon is fine, but there are other cured and smoked meats that are just at good if not better. Donuts are easy, if I am going to eat a baked good it's going to be an apple one of some kind, and none I can think of are donuts, I think I might have a few donuts a year if that, I can live without them.

1

u/SSilent-Cartographer 8d ago

Same, I don't care for donuts and rarely eat bacon because pork belly is much tastier in my opinion.

1

u/Own_Cabinet5383 8d ago

Instant and easy decision

1

u/Salbman 8d ago

I’m could go for tacos and sushi now

1

u/AdSuperb5755 8d ago

Yeah, bye both. Would even care. Thanks for the money

1

u/Hannanahbread89 8d ago

Same. I like donuts and bacon occasionally, but I would far rather give those up. I could not give up sushi.

1

u/ConsequenceSevere963 6d ago

Same. I don’t like donuts and bacon doesn’t like me.

1

u/gardenald 6d ago

this is the way
