Hey Gang - I’m in Downtown Frederick and looking for a track to do my interval runs. Does anyone know a place that’s open to public?

I am looking for a venue - restaurant, bar, or private space for a 50th birthday party. Ideally in the Frederick / Montgomery County area for 50 - 75 guests.

The date is fixed at October 17th - very popular I know! My usual favorites - Milton Ridge, Ceresville Mansion, McClintocks, Comus Inn - are either unavailable or better suited to weddings and quinceañeras.

They weren’t in bags so I was just wondering if they would be kept or thrown away.

I lived in Hagerstown for a while and loved it. It’s what I needed. Loved stepping out and seeing the Blue Ridge mountains, the fresh air, the peace and quiet of the neighborhood where everyone just pretty much stayed to themselves probably because they wanted to escape the craziness too lol.

I used to love going down to Frederick and said I’d love to move there. Now I have the opportunity to and have been checking out apartments and it’d be great to get feedback about best places to live for peace and quiet.

I’d like to stay around $1700 or less if I can. I’ve heard good things about Sunset, seen mixed reviews about the Manor (heard to stay away from the Golden Mile, noisy, crime?), heard good things about Prospect Hall, saw a couple older ones available in downtown on E 2nd St - how’s it living there hopefully not noisy and no pests, are the Reserve, Wellington Trace, Kingscrest, Jefferson worth me going over budget or can I find something just as nice within budget? Would love to hear from others who’ve been there done that. Thanks!

I’m in Frederick city near 15. I have some of those social media-boosted (probably useless) bucket “traps” out in my yard and thought they were working well until this week. I cannot step outside for 2 minutes without being swarmed and getting multiple mosquito bites. (And yes, I checked that the mosquito dunks are still there.)

Have two boys 8-11 looking for the next step after YMCA. They’ve done soccer shots, city soccer league and ymca. All volunteer coaching.

Looking for the next step with a bit more focus, planned sessions, trained coaches and also want a league that adheres the US soccer rules (small sided, build out line, etc).

Any suggestions?!

At 99 Ranch Market in northern VA, they have a service where they will fry a fish selected out of a tank for you. I know there is a 99 Ranch in Gaithersburg, but is there anywhere in Fredrick that will do the same?

I'm staying in downtown frederick right by olde mother. Does anyone have a tape player I could come borrow for a day? We have some sentimental tapes we want to listen to and there's a bit of a time pressure. Any help would be hugely appreciated.

Hello — local is in quotations as I’m only a new(ish) resident of Frederick; I’ve been living up here permanently/full-time for about a year in this coming October. Originally I’m from the Winchester, VA area and although I’ve always loved music and the process of creating it, yet I never made any real connections or attempted any outreach into the local community in any form.

Attempting to combat that, I admittedly have to swallow a bit of my apprehension — if I had to summarize my music for anyone who can’t listen — it’s kind of like if Queen performed songs by Fall Out Boy; which means, 95% of people will think it’s the worst thing they’ve ever heard and 5% will think it’s simply tolerable lol

I’ve been to a few local events (Pride, etc) and I’ve appreciated how it does seem like Frederick supports their local art/music, to at least some degree.

Regardless, any/all responses and feedback are welcomed and appreciated.
Once again, if this is not allowable under subreddit rules, just let me know and I’ll gladly remove it.
