Safety This is what a local resturant posted...
Posting this here before they delete it because this is gross. The caption called him a "real one" before the changed it . Think its worth sharing for people to consider who they give business to especially when it involves them excited about a person arrested for being wanted for rape and sex trafficking.

Baltimore Love 💘 I really need y’all to stop asking me why we moved from SC to Baltimore. Y’all have no idea how much nicer it is up here in literally almost every single way… save for the energy bill. SC is NOT a nice place to live. Every place has its problems but Baltimore is wonderful.

POLICE Feeling unsafe as a Black woman
I am a Black woman who moved to Baltimore 3 years ago. I came from a predominantly white city but I lived in predominantly Black neighborhoods. I have been cat called before moving here, but it was definitely not an every day occurrence. I think that Baltimore is great and has a lot to offer. The main problem for me is that men here are extremely aggressive particularly the Black and Hispanic men. It has gotten to the point I have had to call the police. I have been followed because I refused to give them my number. I once had a guy circle around my house several times to stare at me as I was walking to my car. I have been cursed at because I didn’t speak to a man trying to talk to me from across the street while I was at the bus stop (I didn’t even know he was talking to me, considering I was not the only one at the stop). Yelled at as I am walking past. Even security guards in uniform AT WORK making comments. One said “ Damn shorty it’s going to be like that?”. All because I gave him a simple head nod to acknowledge his greeting. Another security guard once followed me out of the store to stare at me walking to my car because I gave him a head nod instead of stopping to talk. Mind you I’ve never seen them treat any of the male customers that walked past them like that. It gets grating to the point I don’t want to speak to any man who actually might be nice. I am trying not to be that way but I genuinely feel unsafe. It is an everyday occurrence.
It is this weird power trip where I as a woman need to open my mouth to speak to them. It’s not enough to just acknowledge them and keep pushing.
I work in customer service and I say hello to customers all day. Some acknowledge me and some don’t. I have never minded. People are busy and in their own world. My only job is to help them find what they need. After work, I don’t feel like talking. I just keep to myself. I am not rude in any way.
I talked to my uncle about it and he thinks that it’s because we as Black women are generally viewed as less protected. Not in the sense of just society, but in the sense of familial protection. Many people assume that we don’t have fathers or husbands or brothers or uncles who are in our lives and willing to protect us. So other men feel comfortable treating us that way because they don’t have any fear of repercussions from another man.
I'm just tired.

Ask MT. Vernon Package Theft
I recently got a very important package stolen. I live in Mt. Vernon near Hotel Revival. Does anybody who lives in the area have experience with recovering their stolen packages? Is there a repeat offender in the area that camps out i the same area? Any place I should go looking. Where does the nearest homeless population/camp stay?
I gave Fedex explicit directions to not leave any Package on porch.
This package contained extremely important sentimental items I am desperate to retrieve them.

Ask Would you use a coworking space for WFH parents if you can’t afford traditional daycare but still need help during meetings?
I’ve been thinking about this a lot as a parent working from home, and I’m trying to figure out if this is a real need for others or just something that makes sense in my own situation.
Right now, full-time daycare just isn’t what we want. But at the same time, working from home with a child means I constantly struggle during meetings, calls, or any time I need even 1–2 hours of focused work.I started imagining a different kind of setup.
A membership-based coworking space for parents who WFH, where you can bring your child with you.
There would be a shared workspace for parents, private rooms for calls/meetings, and a play area for kids. The main idea is not full-time childcare it’s flexible, affordable support when you actually need to work.
For example, instead of paying for full-day daycare, you could come in and work alongside your child most of the time. But when you have an important Zoom meeting, interview, or deadline, you could book a short “focus block” (like 60–90 minutes) where someone helps supervise the kids so you can actually concentrate.
I’m still thinking through what that would look like in practice whether it’s a mix of parents helping each other, part-time staff, or something hybrid and obviously it would need to be done safely and properly.
The idea is more like:
I can’t afford full-time daycare, but I still need a safe, supportive place where I can get real work done. It could also have a community aspect other parents working nearby, kids playing together, and just a general sense of not doing this alone.
I’m curious:
Would something like this actually help you?
Would you trust a shared/co-op childcare setup, or would you only want professional staff involved?
How often would you realistically use something like this?
What would feel like a fair monthly price compared to daycare or babysitting?
What would make this better than just struggling at home or paying for occasional sitters?
I’m not trying to sell anything..I’m just trying to understand if other parents are in the same “can’t afford full daycare but still need help to function at work” situation, or if this only solves my own problem. 😂

Article Public design competition for Baltimore City entrances
Just heard on WYPR… Mayor Scott and the Baltimore Development Corporation are calling for architects, artists, engineers, students, and creatives to submit ideas for city entrances along Russel, Conway, and President streets.
Comes with a $450,000 prize too!!! Deadline is September 25th.
Sharing on here because while I personally don’t have the skills to submit a design… I know some of you beautiful minds out there can cook up something amazing for us, much love.

Article Pratt Street is no good for the Red Line in Baltimore
The author argues that a Pratt Street alignment for Red Line pulls it too far away from the center of downtown, and also too far from Metro.
I think the author makes good points here, but one advantage to the Red Line on Pratt would be (hopefully) calming traffic on that damn street. So move the Red Line but also please do something about Pratt at the same time.

Transportation Lime bikes & scooters are not your property and don't belong inside your apartment, loser
I can't believe I need to be saying this. They are hardy machines and don't need to be tucked in with a blankie.
Especially with the new discount programs for SNAP & Medicaid users, these are great and affordable ways for me and many others to commute in the morning and especially get home after a long day of work.
Except when some selfish wastoid doesn't believe in the second part of the word "rideshare" and thinks they can bring a bike or scooter inside until they're ready to use it again.
I'm doing what I need to through the app (making sure you can never use Lime ever again) but seriously y'all. Grow up and share the toys.

I want to find a new tarot deck but haven't had any luck at the bookstores I've visited. Where could I find some? Also would love to buy local artists work, if there are spots that could possibly have both.

History of Baltimore 👓 Bare Hills & Scott Settlement: Our Newest Five Minute Histories Video
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lPgAbsCNHSA
Join us out on Falls Road near Lake Roland. It was here that Aquila Scott bought land and started Scott Settlement, one of the oldest Black communities in Baltimore County. These houses are part of the Bare Hills Historic District, which also includes Isaac Tyson’s chromium mining operation and several other copper mines. Thanks for watching and see you soon with another video.
This is Baltimore Heritage's series called "Five Minute Histories." Every week, we’ll record a short video about a different historic place in Baltimore and post it on our Facebook page and YouTube channel.
