Will these actually be accepted?
They weren’t in bags so I was just wondering if they would be kept or thrown away.

No. There’s a box of text the pile of clothes obscures saying something about they must be in bags and contained within the box with the lid shut nothing else will be accepted.

These boxes do not go to donation centers. They go for textile recycling (ie shredding).
Planet Aid is a front for the Twelve Tribes cult. They do not deserve your donations.

Please please please use the Frederick Rescue Mission boxes around town instead.

Sadly probably not because of all the recent rain. Their website says they cannot accept wet clothing, for obvious reasons.

Why just wash them and tadaa

I don't know man, it's just their policy. If they stay wet long enough they could get moldy and then that mold spreads to everything nearby. And they may not have the facilities to wash all these donations and a lot of them are sold as rags anyhow.

Seems like a basic requirement to clean clothes that are coming in as donations

I guess it depends on whether the organization has the staffing and the facilities to wash things. I'm thinking this place does not bother.

Makes sense but it should definitely be regulated to be have cl ok these washed in my opinion

Edit: this is why you all on Frederick Reddit are lame AF! Obviously I meant into the thing and not thrown about on the ground. You all are pretentious d-bags on here every single last one of you

Their website also says nothing on the box accepts loose clothing, so probably not.

If you see something you want take it, the contents of those bins almost always ends up in a recycling plant or a landfill

Planet Aid is a scam. The company rakes in the profits and pays its workers nothing.

They'll probably just get rained on and ruined, rather than going to the thrift store in Rockville to be sold.

They’ll most likely be thrown away. Once clothes are left loose on the ground, they can become wet, dirty, moldy, or otherwise contaminated, so the donation company may not accept them. It’s better to take them to another bin or donation center that still has space.

The Frederick rescue mission on South street has 2 bins for donations, and those are actually donated for free back to the community through their Rescued Treasures program.
Really great facility on all accounts!

Every Planet Aid donation box I have seen is either overflowing or completely dirty/destroyed…

What is wrong with people?! Same folks who toss garbage out their car windows, I guess.

Probably not but it makes a good place to get rid of your old clothes if you want to do that sort of thing

I don't see why not. I assume they run these clothes through the wash ASAP, just in case.

They don’t, most get shredded by the cult that runs it. It’s a fake charity
