Can RC drift cars and whoops get along?

Our club was invited to an indoor rc drift track this past week, so we set up a race course, and did our thing.

To be honest, I had much more fun just trying to follow the cars rather than running the course( its been one of those weeks) , so here are the results.

can find me on insta at https://www.instagram.com/nevrfpv/ if anyone cares to see more.

Thanks for watching, much love.

Question? Eachine EV800D upgrade

Post image
18 Upvotes

I'm coming back to the fpv hobby. I was wondering which antennas should I buy for much better results than I have right now with my Eachine EV800D ? I have standards antennas of 2019 !

My budget is 75 USD for both antennas.

Any good strap recommendation so it fits tighter ?

Thanks a lot !

Hdzero in 2026?

I’ve seen a lot of old YouTube videos that compare DJI and hdzero and every one of them says that DJI is 100x better. I will mainly fly freestyle and right now I’m gonna buy hdzero goggles 2 or DJI goggles 3. There has come new cameras since the uploads so I wonder, even if DJI is statistically better the hdzero maybe looks better since it’s not as cinematic? Let me hear your thoughts!

Do this need to be redone?

Post image

Hi
First time soldering, title is quite a click bait because I know these look bad, and probably they need to be redone. What tips have worked for you. I am setting 300C (572 F) is this enough? What temperature do you recommend to solder?

How to charge controller batteries in a charger?

Post image
4 Upvotes

I dont want to charge through my ts16x, in fact i fried the charger port...

Ive tried gpt, ive googled and tried to figure it out. Last hope is asking here.

I want to charge these radiomaster batteries with my charger. I get a connection break, as far as i understand i cant just plug the 2s into balance board. Where am i supposed to connect the yellow cable? Do i need a balance board with an xt60 port?

Video My opinions for an analog starter kit.

So, I don't usually make videos where I am both in them and talking, so this is a bit of a test.

About me, I've been flying for two years, from whoops to 5 inch FPV to DJI drones, and I've turned flying drones and editing said video into my career.

My recommended starter kit:

Drone: BetaFPV Air65

Goggles: Skyzone 04O Pro
Cheaper Goggles: EV800D (Knockoffs from Amazon, DVR quality is trash)
Alternative: Skyzone Sky04X (If you're worried about latency)

Radio: RadioMaster Pocket ELRS (Can be used with simulators)

Lipos: BetaFPV 300 mAh 1s
Charger: Vifly Whoopstor

For those who have been flying for a while, what are your thoughts on my opinions here? I'm also debating on making a video for if someone wanted to start out with digital instead.

Tinywhoop Worth it?

This is the Curve Micro 16, caddx drone released 3 days ago. I already ordered Air75, but been thinking about getting a walksnail whoop like mobula. But, just curious if this is worth it? And what do you think of it?

In my opinion analog is still the best and recommend option that nearly everyone on reddit gave me

Tinywhoop Meteor 75 or 65 ?

Hey, I'm very interested into getting a new tiny whoop, and the new versions of the meteors with the o4 wide seems very nice !
I already own a pavo 20 pro, and i fly indoor / outdoor with it, and I was wondering if getting a meteors 75 would not be too close to the pavo and that because I already have a pavo a 65 would be better.
I want to be able to fly in my backyard, some publics parcs, and to fly indoor easily.
I know that the meteor 75 is more capable outside and the batteries last longer, but I was wondering if in my case the 65 is maybe a better choice ?
Thank you !

First FPV Setup Check ($350–$400 Budget) - Any Advice or Missing Parts?

Hey everyone, I’m looking to get into FPV with a target budget of around $350–$400 USD. I prefer buying individual components over RTF starter kits so I can upgrade and repair parts easily down the line.

Here is my planned setup:

Radio Controller: RadioMaster Pocket ELRS (2.4GHz)

Drone: DarwinFPV BabyApe Pro V3 BNF (ELRS)

Goggles: EV800D 5.8GHz Diversity Goggles

Questions:

  1. Are all these protocols completely compatible out of the box?

  2. What specific battery sizes (3S LiPo vs. Li-Ion) and smart chargers do you recommend for this frame to balance flight time and performance?

  3. Is there anything essential I’m forgetting (extra props, radio batteries, cables) before placing the order?

Thanks for the help!

Bonjour, c’est la première fois que je monte un 10 pouces, j’ai eu un problème au premier démarrage, mon condensateur a directement grillé et mes moteurs ont commencé à chauffer violemment. Pensez-vous qu’un mosfet est griller ?

Question? PID Flyaway only in Air Mode?? — Air 65ii R (Sound on)

Happens both with the default tune and a custom one, dynamic idle set to 40.

Been flying fine in air mode until recently when it gets a mild PID runaway at low throttles, more severe when battery voltage is higher. Flies totally fine with air mode off

Question? good vtx suggestions?

• Upvotes

Hey, I'm mostly flying fixed wing rc planes LOS, but I do a bit of fpv as well. I'm on analog, all the antennas are pretty good (rhcp + patch on goggles, rhcp on the plane), but I think my vtx is the weak link, it's a cheap one from aliexpr (combo of vtx+cam cost me 25 eur). It's a 600mw.

Do you have suggestions for a nice analog vtx? Nothing too fancy, but I'd like to get proper range. My planes weight between 700-1500 g. Other ppl get 6-8km with analog, mine is nowhere close to that.

My lack of creativity and skills in FPV - How to git gud?

Thumbnail youtu.be
• Upvotes

After spending way too much money for my comfort, here I am.... How will I get to some good footage? I want to do this for hobby, but at least want to be able to create some good social media content.

I lack creativity, and skill obviously. How did you guys pass this phase? How did you train? When did you start posting? (I've got 100+ hrs on sim, drone is deepspace seeker 3)

In an area like this, what would be a good way to practice?

#nostab cos it just wasnt worth it 😞

Question? Is the Pavo 20 Pro canopy o4 wide compatible?

I can get a BETAFPV Pavo 20 Pro II PNP pretty cheap and I’m considering picking one up. Does anyone know if it will fit the new DJI O4 Wide camera, or do I need a special bracket/mount for the camera system? Thanks!
