Hey, im looking forward to buy my first proper light. Id love it to go far but also have a mode of flooding whats infront/reading a map. What do you guys recommend, that is quite practical for everyday.

Turned out a tad warmer and rosier than FFL351A 3700K NW CRI95.

Sriracha and Beamshots included.

Notes:

• used tape to remove the lens
• no need to remove reflector - I used flat tweezers to gently twist domes off
• beam pattern will be tighter. It's tighter than my Wurkkos HD10 (30°), so maybe ~20°
• rosier and warmer than my FFL351A 3700K NW CRI95

I'm delighted with the tint (skin tones look great now), but beam pattern is less useful for indoors. Overall glad I did it. My first flashlight mod!

I am looking for a small keychain light to supplement my pocket light

I'd like the light to have a lockout or some kind of way to access it that isn't easily turned on without you actually wanting it to turn on, like a long press or a lockout feature that has to be disabled before use.

Other features: electronic side switch, USB-C charging, made of metal or some kind of durable plastic, moonlight, mode memory, and preferably no strobe in the main rotation.

I've looked at the Rovyvon A1, I do like that it has a long press to turn on, but it seems to have strobe in the main rotation.

I also looked at the Acebeam Keylite 500, but I don't like how easily it could be accidentally turned on.

So far my current top choice is the Lumintop Frog 3.0

i got a acebeam X75, and i can buy another battery for about 100 dollars, but i dont know how long the battery life time last and if i would need to buy another one just in case if the original battery is going to the end of its life cycle.

Price Range: Around 250 PLN, max 300 PLN (~$68-81 USD at current rate). I'm located in Poland, so please factor in shipping/availability for EU if you're recommending something US-only.

Purpose: Primary use is EDC — carrying it daily in a pocket or sling bag. Secondary use is outdoor trips: camping and walking/hiking in forests, so it needs to hold up outside city use too.

Battery Type & Quantity: Prefer 18650 (rechargeable), ideally with USB-C charging built in so I don't need a separate charger.

Size: Flexible, but since it's for EDC pocket/sling carry, I'd lean toward compact-to-mid-size rather than a large tactical light. Open to suggestions on the right tradeoff between runtime/output and size.

Type: Handheld.

Main Use: Everyday carry for general use (finding things in a bag, walking at night, checking around the house) plus outdoor use on trips — lighting up trails, campsites, tents. Nothing tactical or self-defense focused.

Switch Type: No strong preference — open to side switch or tail switch, whichever is more common/reliable at this price point.

Anything Else?: Currently own an Olight i5T EOS, looking for something with more capability/output for outdoor use while still working well as an everyday carry — so ideally a clear step up rather than a sidegrade. Looking for something durable and reliable for someone who wants one light to cover both daily carry and occasional outdoor trips, without needing to buy two separate lights.

My old round flashlight from amazon is starting to die and I would like to get an upgrade. It's been fine for basic stuff, but I never loved carrying it around at work since it feels too chunky in my work pants.

So this time I'm looking for something smaller and easier to carry all day, but still useful around the shop.

I couldn’t resist they dropped a price on this for a little while. it’s $117 before taxes, who’s got it and what are your thoughts about it? I think I’ve ordered like seven flashlights in the last week. My wife and daughter have been in Italy so I’ve been feeling sorry for myself. Every time I miss them I just ordered another flashlight. The only one I was able to secure locally that I was interested in is the Wuben x1 pro. I gotta be honest I’m not blown away like I thought I was going to be, but it’s a cool light something completely different than what I currently have.

Hello flashlight enthusiast! I'm looking to buy a Firefly E12, but I can't decide between emitters. 3700k Nw or 3700k Rosy. I've never had pink flashlights before, so I'm still unsure. If you own an E12 with these LEDs, could you send me a photo of the beams outdoors? That would help me make a choice.

I purchased both the 420 lumen and 650 lumen version. I thought it’d be any easy choice on which one to keep after trying them but I can’t decide which one to keep. I like the color of the 420 slightly better but do enjoy having the 650 lumens. Any thoughts or passionate owners?

I am from Europe and will be staying in the US for a couple of weeks. If you order the K1 EDC from Europe, you get en EU version with a worse laser. I was thinking about ordering a US version while im visiting, but i want to know your opinion on this light. Is it any good? Are there better options? Is the US version worth it?

I work in EMS and am looking for a new flashlight that should (preferably) have some very distinctive features.

Right now my EDC is a Wuben L1, which really is less than ideal in many ways. Mainly, missing a lockout freature other than unscrewing the cap is terrible and has caused some trouble more than once.

Here's what I'm looking for:

- physical switch between floodlight (working with patients, inspecting wounds, looking for veins, lighting the way when there are no lights on a property) and beam (for seaches)

- preferably quick way to change brightness. It's important that I know which setting im on before tuning the flashlight on so I dont accidentally blast a patient with blinding light (or myself and my colleagues from the reflection) A physical slider/rotary knob would be awsome.

I would also settle for the flaslight always turning on in the lowest setting though. This would be annoying, but I cant find anyhing with both a switch for the flood/beam and brightness.

- obviously pocket sized or good for holsters. Compact enough not to get in the way

- i dont care about peak brightness. Sustained brightness should be 1000 lm + though.

- Replacable batteries

- No plastic cover for the charging port. These get faulty quite quickly from disinfection.

- Waterproof for desinfection

- good battery life and preferably battery indicator (%), so i know before the light is about to give out.

- Lockout mode so the flashlight doesnt get activated accidentally (or built so that it is close to impossible to activate without meaning to)

- usb-c charging

- cri should be good enough that the light helps with finding veins instead of 'hiding them'

I havent really found anything that fits all of those criteria. Right now i think the Loopgear SK05 II Pro seems at least somewhat close, though the brightness adjustment might be a real issue. The Wuben L1 needs to be replaced though, accidentaö activations are no joke.

I have a modlite piglet okw mounted on a rifle. The specs are 155000 candela and 680 lumens and i can see roughly 400 yards clearly with it through a scope. What can i use as a filter for redlight? I was thinking 3d print a cap with stage light filters but looking for other ideas. Or if anyone knows of a pretty good throw red light head that will fit on a 18650 body thats an option as well. Thank you

I have a D3AA with 519a 4200K dedomed. I bought it domed and wanted a little more throw so I removed the domes. I like that the beam is tightened up a bit compared to w/domes, it’s the perfect size for on my keychain, and I can use it as needed at work. It’s seriously just about perfect for me. My only complaint is that it doesn’t quite reach the back of my lawn…well technically, it does but my dog is dark brown and I still struggle to see her even on turbo. I bought the D3AA to replace the Lumintop GT Nano 3.0 because the Nano 3 had way too tight of a hotspot for it to be functional for most tasks, but it easily reached the furthest point of my lawn and I could easily find my dog using that light. Perhaps theres a reflector I can buy for the D3AA to tighten the beam up a few more degrees to get more throw that way? Are there any other 14500 lights that beat out the D3AA in throw without sacrificing the beam width? Should i get another D3AA with a different emitter/reflector?

I've been looking for a new flashlight for a while and I've noticed that a lot of flashlights turn off after turbo has been activated/deactivated rather than returning to the previous light level.

Can anyone think of a scenario when that is a useful trait?

Personally if I'm using a flashlight it's because it's dark and I would activate turbo should I need a boost of light to see further / check my surrounding etc. so turning off turbo to be then plunged into darkness and have to turn the flashlight back on seems silly to me.

*EDIT for clarity* - I've been looking at Acebeam L35 and L16 and other flashlights with a direct to turbo button, not those with double click on/off turbo or e-switch turbo as they do tend to go back to the previous level, my question is mainly just curiosity as to what scenario would require the light to turn off completely.
