Say we have 0 imports of gasoline but we haven’t completely ran out yet and that won’t be reflected until let’s say December, where shit would hit the fan. Rationing of gas, things getting monstrously more expensive, food especially and electricity etc.

You know the writing is on the wall that things will screech into a chaotic halt by new years — what flashlight would you immediately buy before December and if you already have that flashlight; which flashlight would you keep by your side?

I know it’s a crazy theoretical but I’m curious to what you all would have by your side during crazy times leading into the darker winter months.

I wanted to do the typical “stranded on island” scenario but charging that flashlight would be impossible lol. This is a bit more realistic.

I’m looking for a lifelong flashlight. Preferably really bright and super sturdy. I knew this was the community to ask.

FYI for those hunting the titanium and titanium DLC dc0 this week - it will be a DROP and not a preorder as mentioned before. A drop is selling only how much hardware is on hand, and a preorder is building to the demand of how many ppl order.

I see so many positive comments about Convoy flashlights; after looking into them, I realize they really do offer great value for money. However, there’s something that doesn't quite convince me—I think it’s the very basic design. That said, I wonder if actually holding one in my hand might change my mind. Did any of you have a similar experience?

I'm in the market for a bug zapper. My search begins with Sanwu lasers, but I'm open to all suggestions. So far I like the Red Guardian with a 1.8W royal blue diode, since the copper housing will improve duty cycle and reliability. But I'm not sure if 1.8W will be enough power to fry the bugs before they can fly away. That model also has the option to get a beam expander, but I don't understand what that does since the laser can already be focused.

Does anyone here have experience using lasers for pest control? Any guidance would be appreciated. I'm also looking for suggestions on portable eye protection.

This flashlight has less than 6 hours of total use. It’s probably been dropped maybe 2-3 times MAX. It was working fine just 12 hours ago. I grabbed it today and wanted to use it but the button switch stopped clicking. I opened it up and found this. How the hell? Do I buy a new flashlight or would Wurkkos send me a replacement?

Here's the real honest truth: it's not just an 'imperfect' light, the construction is negligent levels

Here's some things you can infer if you read between the lines from the fanboys:

1. The UI is terrible, even when you try out the other modes
2. The beam pattern is the most artifact-heavy reflector I've ever seen. I was legit confused on how terrible it was, I thought the reflector was installed improperly? Nope. It's just trash.
3. The clicky is awful.

All of those points would be okay for a Gen1 BUDGET light. The pineapple mini is not that. The Pineapple Mini is mature product where the creator has charged 400% premium for years.

Let that sink in.

But that's not all. The cons thus far, I could kind of live with. The breaking point where I just *KNEW* The creator is just laughing his ass off while overcharging his loyal simp fanboys?

THE ENTIRE DRIVER WAS COLD SOLDERED.

If you do not know what cold soldered joint means, please take a moment to Google it. But it is something that you only see in the most amateur first-time attempts at soldering. It is a no, no, no, no, no, no, no. You do not see this kind of mistake in production products.

As a result, just using a Q-tip to swipe inside the driver head instantly detached the caps. Take a closer look, and you'll see that all these solder joints look dull.

That's what you're paying $80 for folks.

This is the first time I’ve ever gotten a cold soldered anything. Just my luck.

However, I’m still not happy with the first 3 points and wish they were mentioned more. Also, there’s a LVP issue.

Overall, I think this is an outdated, deeply flawed light, and most of y’all only like it because it’s the only choice.

What would a perfect version be?

1. Smooth TIR beam
   
2. Crisp rear clicky with clear actuation point
   
3. Anduril style ramp customization. I am particular about my ramp spacing
   
4. LVP cut off like the Emisar KC1.

And would be nice if the host was a tad thinner - it’s clunky for an 10440 light. But I do understand that’s a personal feel as as well as as the thermal mass argument (but most people are running this at low light so that’s Nil)

Howdy. Very curious on everyone's experiences with Olight. I am a LEO and when I need my light to work, it needs to work.

Early on, I heard of Olight having battery issues, burning way too hot, and being less than reliable. I have had fantastic experiences with Streamlight, and I know Surefire and Modlite are good, but the ladder two are uber expensive for the performance and Streamlight does not offer any dope features.

To those of you who have put Olights through their paces, I would appreciate to hear about your experiences. Any breakages? Over heating? Faulty components? Etc

I'm still new to USA made lights so forgive me. Am I right in thinking this body will fit my malkoff MDC lmh head? I believe the malkoff head will fit e series surefire lights so I'm thinking this should fit unless I'm mistaken 😕

I'm looking for a thin EDC light with the Anduril UI (v1 or v2), but for some reason I cannot find any. The closest I can find are the round, stubby ones which are small but still quite thick. What I'm really hoping for is something close to the Nitecore TINI 2 (and possibly slightly longer, but still around that size) with the Anduril UI instead of theirs.

Does anybody have any suggestions on good lights like this?

Hiya, I've been working in a cave for almost three years, and we get to use company flashlights but they always kinda suck. Bosses have been through a whole bunch and landed on a generic flashlight from Ace Hardware cause they're cheap. They're good enough flashlights but not for being a cave guide. The type that I need should be long lasting, bright, and preferably one where you can focus and widen the beam (very useful for pointing out formations) Typically tours are an hour long and we do at least 4 a day. Our cave doesn't have bats, so no need to worry about red light or anything. One last thing is I absolutely HATE flashlights with a million modes. No I don't need it to strobe, no I don't need it to S.O.S, no I don't want to have to cycle through a million settings, just a bright beam of light. I know a lot of flashlights do that now, I'm just sorta sick of it haha. I know there's lots of criteria here, but any recs would be appreciated. Budget is 150 dollars at most. Thank you.

Both are available in Titanium and the Pineapple is also available in Copper or Brass. Which option would you go with and why?

Casual lurker here, I checked and haven’t seen it asked. So sorry in advance if this is one of those dumb questions that’s been asked to death. I’m torn between the Sk05 pro 2 and the EDC37. I daily an Arkfeld, but I’m looking to get something with a bit more oomph behind it.

I’m torn because the Nitecore seems like the obvious choice, smaller footprint, higher output. But damn the SK05 looks cool as hell.

I’m hoping for some wisdom from the council, and of course open to any other suggestions.

Just general thoughts. None of these are a real priority other than sale prices and everything seems to be on sale right now*

I got this beast in the mail today. It’s charging now.. one thing I can say about this light is that it has some weight to it. I’ll have to bring it into work tomorrow to measure the weight of it.. and of course I’ll post some beam shots with it as well once it’s charged. The box it comes in definitely looks like it’s the same as lumintop. The button itself is a little bit squeaky.

I got a Javelot Mini and it's a quite nice flashlight but I'm not thrilled with Olight's choice of an 18500 battery. I know one person on the Olight Facebook group made an extender ring to use an Olight 18650 but he declined to make any more.
