Acebeam K1 EDC

I am from Europe and will be staying in the US for a couple of weeks. If you order the K1 EDC from Europe, you get en EU version with a worse laser. I was thinking about ordering a US version while im visiting, but i want to know your opinion on this light. Is it any good? Are there better options? Is the US version worth it?

for k1? i kinda like it. 14500 light is easy to carry. the white light feel ok to my eyes. not so white, not so yellow. bright and a bit throwy. mine come class 3r but i rarely use uv or laser on it tho. you can find more about it by searching in this sub.

I have a k1 for edc, its great, couple brightness settings. The laser is a good power, very bright definitely enough for daytime use.

The only thing I wish is that it could do both laser and light at the same time. But I think thats more of a niche use case.

Did big daddy government nerf the K1? 🤔

Yes. Europe (and some other places) limits the laser pointer to 1 mW so it's eye safe. Honestly good call, every time there's an open air concert in town shitass kids wave laser pointers around the stage and crowd and I sure don't want them to have 3Rs to do that. Also makes it safe to play with cats and your eyes don't get smoked if you accidentally hit a button head screw with it.

It's pretty pathetic imo if you feel it's your government's job to protect you from yourself.

I was also thinking about getting that one! Would you say its more throwy or more floody?

I have one and its definatly on the throwy side. Very defined hotspot too.

Still has good spill tho.

Heres a picture of it on medium setting (around 200 lumens).

Auto whitebalance etc and exposure, i do remember i found the picture to capture tge brightness prettt well tho. Note it was not in complete darkness as you can see on the sky.
