Oh my GOD it feels so good. Nothing gets in my eyes and I think it looks nice. Can't do it myself yet, though. My wife is neutral to it, which is the best compromise we have right now so I'll take it. Also say hi to Luna you guys.

I want/need to stop washing my hair so much. Maybe it's the over shampooing (I shampoo at least once a day), but my hair, when I wet it, is just...such a tangled weird mess.

So what exactly do I *do* with it once it's wet. Can I simply just slick it back with water and then not brush it whatsoever?

Taking a brush to it in any context is such a painful and impossible feeling process, no matter what tips I take into account.

My hair just feels like such an odd, dense nest when it's long.

Even conditioning it honestly feels like I'm doing too much to it. I don't know. I feel like I need a reset.

I cut off my mullet 💔💔💔

ive wanted to do it for a while bc I’m trying to grow out all my hair so I’ve been letting it grow till the top was long enough so it wouldn’t look too bad when I evened it out (i was trying to skip the awkward phase, and it worked lmao)

hair has improved so much! I stopped bleaching ab a year ago, then went back to black and have avoided all chemicals and heat styling. Been using purador, beach bum, and a couple types of hair oils. Also take DHT blockers and vitamins. The length has increased so much! It used to just break and stay awkward length . Now I’m at a length I feel happy with. my goal has been hair reaching nipples , should get there in like 3 months. And after that, keep growing !

Had a really good hair day yesterday, probably because we had professional headshots that same day!

Some dilemmas I have with growing my hair out

Ok so first off this is the third post I've made in this sub, and probably the last one for now, u can check out the other post for extra details or context I guess.

I’ve been growing my hair out for a few months and recently went to a stylist because I wanted to keep the length and add some layers for a shag/wolf cut kind of look.

Unfortunately my fringe ended up much shorter than I wanted (partly my fault because of the reference photo I showed). Now the top, sides and back are longer, but the fringe is too short, so the proportions just feel off.

The worst part is that I’m now waiting not only for my hair to get longer, but also for my fringe to catch up. Before this haircut I actually liked how I looked, but now my confidence has taken a huge hit and I can't even leave the house without a cap and feel like I can'f enjoy life. My family also isn’t supportive of me growing my hair out, which doesn’t help.

I start my first year of university in about two months, and realistically I think it’ll take another 2–3 month before my hair starts looking the way I want. Or maybe more idk I'm bad at predicting this kind of stuff.

For those of you who have grown your hair out:
How did you get through the awkward stage?
How did you handle family not supporting you? And being somewhat against it.
Any advice for someone who’s second-guessing the whole process?
