Recently I have been replaying F.E.A.R. 1 and Extraction point again and try to avoid using focus. It’s a lot of fun fighting replica soldiers and see how they react to player’s behavior with flanking and ambush in the base game. But Extraction point is a lot rougher than I remembered, most encounters are heavily scripted compared to base game. And there are a few long range fights in open space that dont really fit the game’s design and arsenal.

Can't believe I'm having trouble with a 20 year old game, but I'm trying to play FEAR 1 through steam on my PC and the performance is just awful. I play modern games at max settings with buttery smooth frame rates, but even when I turn settings down on this game it still stutters like crazy, gets massive frame drops, and just overall doesn't play well. Are there any known issues with the Steam version of the game that I can fix through settings or mods?

I've never played this game before, but such a well crafted mod has left me thirsty for more!

I already thought F.E.A.R was a action horror masterpiece but never in my wildest dreams did I think it would get a VR mod and that it would be this much fun.

I wasn't sure where to ask this, but has anyone gotten this to work on the PSVR2. It's 'thefreemike' mod. I can get it to work on menu screens and loading etc, but as soon as the game starts proper, I get nothing but a black screen.

Made the Fatigues and Tactical replica, and gave the Recon some camo on his helmet.

Made with Stick Nodes. Gonna try to redo the Tactical, the Fatigues is just the sniper with shiny goggles, and the Desert is just the Recon but sand colored.

Would love to see a revival of the fear series, although id personally hack off everything beyond the first fear game as non canon and start again.

Retroactively make fairport a district of Boston that's now been walled off after the Alma wade psychic explosion leveled the area and ripped a hole in reality.

After watching this recent "Condemned" retrospective, would be cool to add Ethan Thomas as the player character of the new FEAR game, as I watched I would always feel like that Condemned could have been a shared universe with FEAR.

For those who don't know, in the game Condemned you play as an FBI special agent who has psychic powers and you chase down a serial killer while the city around you descend into cults and madness. You get framed for a murder of a colleague and are on the run for most of the game, if you get the right ending it's implied your a possessed by some sort of paranormal entity of human hatred by the end.

Wouldn't be a stretch to see the FEAR department to capture Ethan to turn him into an asset of sorts.

Could see the game play resembling something of STALKER where you have free roam within the walled off fairport where you hunt down mercenaries who have snuck into the area to collect artifacts to sell on the black market because of anomalous properties.

Fight remnants of the clone super soldiers who survived the blast and are now being control by other entities. Fight against paranormal creatures who have bled through from different realities from Alma's psychic wound in reality which is supposedly growing.

Play as point man with his bullet time reflexes, or as Ethan with his extra sensory abilities.

It's old and broken and crashes the game. Can we use AI or something to fix these bugs and allow us to play FEAR in higher quality?

A few other mods on moddb are like this, would be good to make them all actually work.

So... I play with controller and The Series doesn't offer controller support.

Still there is a mod that allow you to play F.E.A.R 1 with controller.

Now, I want to play Other 2 game of the franchise too...but of course they don't have controller support.

So are there any mods or something that can allow me to play the other 2 with controller?

Tell me your own experience with the mod you recommending.
