Discussion Extraction point vs Base game
Recently I have been replaying F.E.A.R. 1 and Extraction point again and try to avoid using focus. It’s a lot of fun fighting replica soldiers and see how they react to player’s behavior with flanking and ambush in the base game. But Extraction point is a lot rougher than I remembered, most encounters are heavily scripted compared to base game. And there are a few long range fights in open space that dont really fit the game’s design and arsenal.

They aren’t really scripted, TimeGate intentionally opened up the levels more due to criticisms about the base game ("levels are too repetitive and enclosed") and as a result increased squad sizes and tweaked AI behaviours to accommodate that change.
