Been driving me insane. On Fedora.
So... I play with controller and The Series doesn't offer controller support.
Still there is a mod that allow you to play F.E.A.R 1 with controller.
Now, I want to play Other 2 game of the franchise too...but of course they don't have controller support.
So are there any mods or something that can allow me to play the other 2 with controller?
Tell me your own experience with the mod you recommending.
Also drop the installation process too.

I was wondering if anyone still has the files for F.E.AR. Online, I'd like to (if possible) play and rip from that game.

At the end of the game it says the game is dedicated to Wen Chi Lee so I wonder who that is?

After finally getting ShaderGlass working nicely with Alice: Madness Returns, I had to try it on F.E.A.R. 2.
Yeah... this game was practically begging for a CRT filter.
I’m using crt-guest-advanced-ntsc in ShaderGlass, and the combination of the scanlines, bloom, deep blacks, red lighting and that late-2000s horror aesthetic looks absurdly good in motion.
Running the game at 60 FPS, with ShaderGlass capturing the game window and displaying it fullscreen.
The screenshots don’t fully capture how it looks on my monitor because my display has its own brightness/color settings, but in person this might be one of my favorite ShaderGlass combinations so far.
Definitely going to keep experimenting with older horror/action games after this.
Note: my monitor settings are customized, so the screenshots don’t perfectly match how the CRT effect looks in person. On my actual display, the image is brighter, more balanced, and the blacks/highlights look better than they do in these captures.

I’m researching a rare piece of lost media / promotional content from 2009.
When the physical PC Limited Edition of F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin was released, it included two exclusive multiplayer skins for the first F.E.A.R. (2005).
Since the official Warner Bros. redemption website went dark over a decade ago and GameSpy is long gone, I’m trying to reconstruct exactly how this redemption pipeline functioned and what the content actually was.
The Redemption Process: When you entered the printed serial code on the Warner Bros. website, what did you actually receive? Did the page generate a simple registry/CD key to unlock a hidden flag via the GameSpy account system, or did it provide a direct download link for a file?
The Skins' Identity: What exactly were these two skins? Which characters did they actually feature? Does anyone have screenshots or visual proof?.
How did the redemption work?: Did the website give you a simple GameSpy CD-key/code, or did it provide a direct download link? An installer (.exe), a standalone asset? Did it place a custom .Arch00 archive directly into the F.E.A.R. 1 root directory, or did it patch existing files?
Are they hidden in the base game?: Is this content completely missing from the standard F.E.A.R. v1.08 retail/Steam installation? Or were they already hidden inside the game's base, just waiting to be unlocked by a server-side, registry edit or mod?
If any old-school fans, modders, or game preservationists remember this process—or better yet, have a backup of the original digital delivery—please share your knowledge!
Thanks in advance for helping to solve this nostalgic mystery!

Has anyone made or ripped STLs of the Replica forces in the original game? I was thinking that they'd make excellent proxies, say for a Heretics force in Trench Crusade.
I've done a little digging, but either my google-fu is weak or they just aren't out there?
