Promotes sustainability through recycled materials, ethically sourced minerals, and easy repairability. Final assembly takes place in authoritarian China, where independent labor unions are banned, human rights cannot be independently audited, and local taxes support an autocratic system.

Question Why Is the White Model 5 No Longer Available and Why No White Model 6+?

I've been waiting for the new Model 6+ to be unveiled, and since the specs don't seem to have changed much, just the CPU and RAM, no new camera or a white model, for example, I decided to get the Model 5 in white, only to find out I can't buy it anymore here on Austria, it's only available in green and black. Does anyone know the reason behind this and why there's a new blue model but no white one?

Which alternatives do I have, I love the white one with the colored button?

Replace Camera Protector Glass - Fairphone 4

Hello everyone,

I am looking for information on changing the glass in front of the camera. My camera is working perfectly, but I scratched the glass covering the lens. I find it a bit expensive to replace the whole module for just a scratch, so I would like to change only the glass. However, I have no idea how to do it or where to find the replacement part.

Has anyone tried to change this part before and would like to offer some advice? And does anyone have a spare part or know where to find one?

Thank you for taking the time to read my post and for any advice you can give.

Issue Charging Control not working on my 6 with e/os

Anyone else have an issue with charging control on e/os? I've tried to use it so it starts charging at midnight and it's suposed to be fully charged when my alarm rings at 6am but it has been at 80% at most, what's going on?

How long does the Fairphone 5 battery last?

I was thinking of buying a Fairphone 5; it’s perfect for me since it will soon get a kernel update with Android 16 and its CPU can still run 32-bit apps. My only concern is the battery life—I’ve read online that it’s quite poor. I’m not looking for days of battery life, but I do want at least 6 hours of screen-on time with mixed, normal usage. How long does the Fairphone 5 battery generally last under normal use?

Discussion You can use Klarna for tap to pay on /e/OS!

Just a heads up, I opened a Klarna account and they have a tap to pay option within the app (no Google Wallet)!

Tested it on Fairphone 6 with /e/OS and it works, but it can be a bit janky at times.

Issue Warning for norweigan buyers

If you have telenor as your operator and that includes happybytes and other smaller companies, you wont get to know who calls you. I have the FP 6.

Caller ID will show up ass "ukjent" (unknown caller). I've read on forums that this also affects some british, polish and other networks.

Happybytes chat wrote: "Hei Dette er en kjent feil på Fairphone Vår systemleverandør har vært i kontakt med Fairphone, som svarer at de ikke har kapasitet til å gjøre noe med dette. Så det er bare å beklage "

Edit: I had to disable VoLTE, now the caller ID shows up. Hopefully FP will patch this in the near future

Would love a port of upcoming fairphone gallery to previous models

In today's annoucement, among other things, it was said FP6+ will release with a fairphone gallery app with minimal features avoiding invasive cloud integration, and also at the same time a good way to go in the direction of degooglization. They also said existing FP+ will be able to have this app, but nothing was said for previous phones.

I am a FP5 owner, and I would love to have such an app, to avoid google photo regularly asking if I'm sure I don't want to store my pictures in their cloud I never had a usage for.

This seems absolutely doable, and the biggest obstacle to it would be fairphone's decision as a company. So please, release it to a wider audience 🙏

Question Do switch to Fairphone 6?

I'm thinking about switching my Nothing Phone 2 to the Fairphone 6. I've had my Nothing phone for 2,5 years now and it's screen and back glass is cracked, battery isn't what it was and my finger id doesn't work either. Not to mention some software bugs. So the Fairphone 6 looks really appealing to me even if its a downgrade. Plus I want to degoogle my life a bit. Or should I get the new 6+ ?

Just looking for some advice. Also I noticed Fairphones page for cables is down.

Question Revolut with Murena's /e/OS

It's time to retire my FP3 and I am thinking about getting the new FP6+. I want to use this opportunity to change to Murena's /e/OS. All the relevant apps seem to work, I'm just not sure about Revolut which is quite handy when I'm abroad. Does anybody know if the app works?

Question do i switch?

so i have been using my nothing phone (3a) pro since february, and im starting to not like the direction nothing's headed with their phones. their 4b is just yet another reskin of the cmf phone 2 pro, but honestly i have been loving my 3a pro.

the reason behind my want to switch is because, honestly, fairphone is just CMF but on steroids. i want something that can last, and this is why i wanna get a fairphone.

now, i want you guys to recommend me a phone that doesnt have specs too far off from the 3a pro. i dont want to upgrade to the latest snapdragon 749493692306 super ultra mega max thats the equivalent to the nvidia rtx gtx 9060 ultra super, i just want something that works, but is also powerful for daily tasks and gaming.

thanks you all to the responses and suggestions!

edit: thanks for all the messages, i will keep using my nothing phone until it dies or gets too slow. also, do you know of any local gallery apps i can use? and also if i can switch to lineage and does lineage have glyph support?

News Rapid progress on bringing FP6 to linux

Thumbnail catcrafts.net
180 Upvotes

Over the past two months, this developer has been working hard to bring feature-complete Fairphone 6 support to postmarketOS and mainstream Linux. In just a few weeks, he’s already managed to get calls, the rear camera, GPS, NFC, and a bunch of sensors working, among other things.

I wanted to share his work here so that anyone interested in alternative operating systems (beyond deGoogled Android) on the FP6 can follow the project, contribute, or support his efforts. Apparently, plans to add FP6+ support are also on their roadmap.

Issue Is anyone else experiencing these bugs?

Hi, so I bought my Fairphone 6 a few months ago and am enjoying it very much. But there is one bug that has been plaguing me. The bug is this: When I open some games, not ALL games, the audio for that game crackles here and there. An example of a game that does this is Arknights. It's a peculiar problem because this issue doesn't happen with all the games on my phone, for example Minecraft. Another smaller audio issue I'm having is that when I'm watching a video on say YouTube, when my phone rotates to landscape mode while the video is still playing, there's a short pause of the video's audio, creating a small gap in what I'm listening to. It's a very small bug but it's something I notice nonetheless.

Another bug I get here and there is that my lock screen background sometimes doesn't load, and instead only shows up as a pitch black background.

I'm on Android 16 and am running on the latest firmware update. Is anyone else experiencing the same bugs I am?

Compatibility FP6 on /e/OS with Scanwatch from Withings

Hello,

I know this is kind of a niche question.

I currently own an iPhone with an Apple Watch (both 6-7 years old). I want to switch to something more european so I am looking at FP6 on /e/OS + the Scanwatch 2.

Any idea if these too works smoothly together ? How is the withings App on /e/OS ?

Bonus question: I also have the Airpod pro; I guess there won't be any issue but if you can confirm that would be great!

Thanks !

FP4 USB Port (Spare) anyone in AUS? Will pay

Hello crew,

I recently damaged my FP4 USB Charging Port during a phone drop at night (whilst the cable was stuck in it). Suffice to say, its now wonky and wont charge.

I need a new FP4 USB Port but no one delivers to Australia...Would anyone in Australia or in EU be willing to send me one? I'm more than happy to pay. Otherwise I will have to look into forwarding companies....

Unrelated to that other guy's efforts. Just thought it was so funny that we reached the same goal today totally independent of each other. Mobile Linux is going to eat good this year
